Skyrim is going to be sick, and installation size is the last thing I'm worried about, although let's not forget that 6 GB for a game like that is pretty small. Very efficient design and compressing. If people are actually not going to buy the game just because of the file size, which is actually quite small looking at games today, then they were never actually interested in getting Skyrim in the first place. Simple as that. If I understood it correctly, you've got it backwards. People are(supposedly) cancelling pre-orders because they think 6gb is too small. I have it backwards. My bad. Thanks for clarifying. It's also Veteran's Day. Yeah, I don't have it off though. Damn university.
Also I think that tower looks fine. It's not gorgeous, but then again it's a simple/plain tower and it looks exactly like what it's supposed to be.

Morrowind was 640 mb including the construction set , the world was stunning and the game propably the biggest ever ( almost unlimited).
For the time 640 mb was consider to be low ( 1 cd) whereas other games were 3 or 4 times bigger.
Bestheda are masters when it comes to compressing unlike id for instance .

Iccup Starcraft version is 100MB and it's the best game ever made so no need to worry What's so bad about that tower?

Your post prompted me to check the size of my Morrowind folder.
7.42 GB

People should also remember TES 2: Daggerfall. I think it was around 200 mb, maybe less, but was the biggest world created in TES series, maybe even bigger than almost any game ever made. Bethesda claims that the scale of the game is equal to twice the size of Great Britain, 487,000 Square KM. But remembering that it was randomly generated, and had like 15,000 cities/towns, etc. Preety epic if you ask me!

I don't see whats wrong with that tower.
By the way about the textures, if they use the same compression wizardry as Rage, Skyrim could be like 30gb pre-compression.

WTF? I was doubting wether I should cancell my preorder when I heard about the 6gb, but now ive seen that tower, oh man, skyrim is going to be the worst game ever.

Blasphemy! How many bytes a game is does not judge whether it is a good game or not! Madness!

Wow man I totally agree guys that tower ruined the game for me... no longer gonna buy this pos.

-Archangel-, your irony detector might be dysfunctional.
But I can only agree with the others, The Elders Scroll's series always were about the epic towers for me and if they keep towers like that in the game I will probably not even pirate it to try it out.

lol its a console-game, what do you expect?

You meant saracasm, I'm sure but yes, I'm going to go ahead and say Chrispy is not serious. Revolutionary idea. I know.

I just hope the gameplay is great, same graphics as oblivion is good enough for me. Looking forward to it!

Yeah, I agree. What really made Oblivion for me was being able to see that one big tower from everywhere.
They may think that having more towers is better for the game, but it's better to have one good tower than many sucky ones imo.
|
You guys must be kidding. The towers in oblivion were just a shade of what they used to be in morrowind. Looking at that picture, it's clear they're continuing the downward trend with skyrim. Noone can make a decent towers nowadays
