For example if I try to capture a greater soul without a greater soul gem will it go into an empty grand soul gem? I'm just worried about accidently wasting a good gem on a low level soul Soul Gems will absorb souls that are smaller than their capacity if there are no smaller gems available. It's annoying at times, but I don't really find it to be too big of an issue considering that I find Soul Gems EVERYWHERE in this game and am currently waist-deep in Petty and Lesser Soul Gems. Just be a bit careful if you are running low on smaller Soul Gems, and be sure to do the quest to get Azura's Star if you really want a rechargable Soul Gem. Ahk I have Azura's Star, so you can put a human soul in it, enchant something and keep Azura's Star? you can drop the soulgems to remove the soul Sick guess I have no problems then

Also, not a fan of the redesign, I preferred Oblivion's Azura's Star way more.

It's a bit of a whore actually. it doesn't matter if it's an animal or human, it will soak that soul up.

As for my character, I finally maxed out all my mage skills and got all the spells that I could. It's quite annoying to only have 8 hotkeys which means scrolling through my massive favourites list everytime I want to change shit up. My favourite spell so far has to be Lightening Storm. I'M EMPEROR PALPATINE BITCH!

Might as well try to level some crafting skills, that might cost something too. You could start doing smithing/enchanting to help you get a nice bow later on + make a bunch of money in the process. Craft simple things, enchant, sell for a lot (assuming you have a good # of petty, lesser soul gems--which you should by lvl 23). Unless you're really loaded (50k+) you probably shouldn't spend too much money on training skills. On November 18 2011 18:41 Telcontar wrote: If you're an enchanter, definitely go for the Dark Star. Being able to capture humanoid souls (classified as grand) again and again will prove so useful. If you just want a gem for charging up your magic items, go for the Azura's Star. Sure you can also use it for enchanting, but there are very few non-humanoid creatures with a grand soul.
