Am I the only one worried with how easy it was to kill the dragon? The fight itself seemed anti-climatic, too. I mean, the dragon did 3 things in a loop, the player mindlessly slashed him whenever he came down (for no reason). Dragon fights seemed way more epic in DA:O, which was a turn-based game at heart.

He used ~7 potions and had a companion, plus hes only level 8. Id assume the dragons get harder as you level up

Because there is no cooldown on it and he had like 25 of them. Besides, how does that make it look better? It was a cakewalk to kill a dragon.

So? set a few restrictions for yourself, such as no companions, no potions and no shouts. Or wait for mods.

Let me guess, you're one of the NR20 BGH guys.

You can't go into Skyrim expecting the game to be tailor made to your personal wonderful way of playing. The game is made for a general audience, what you can go into Skyrim expecting to be able to mod it, or use console commands, or to play with restrictions you put upon yourself(some people are going to draw their own map -_-), etc. That's why Bethesda puts out the modding tools etc, so you can play the way you want. You want a challenge, well then make it challenging, you want a cakewalk, put it on easy and give yourself a sword that 1 shots everyone. Who cares, since its a single player experience.

I think the person who has to cut out features and items from the game to make it challenging might care. If Bethesda wasn't so worthless they'd come up with a solution. You know, like a working difficulty slider. But why do that when you can mod stuff in! In fact, why have dragons either, when you can mod them in! Or even better, I can just close my eyes everytime I fight a rat and pretend it's a dragon. When you play it like that it's made for an even wider audience!

if you cant read all the reasons why he was able to kill the dragon relatively easy then sorry but I doubt talking to you any longer will help. I will list them once more and if you still dont get it then I dont know either...

- the dificulty was the lowest in the game settings
- the player was lvl 8 you can expect the Dragons to scale with the player level
- the player had a companion who tanked most of the physical damage
- the companion does quite a bit of damage too
- the player plays a Nord who are 50% resistant against ice attacks
- the dragon used ice attacks
- player still needed 7 potions and almost got killed right at the start of the fight

Is it released earlier in other parts of the world, or is EU unlock gonna be the global unlock for this game?

the look of the map (not made by paper it seems) and the statue looks quite nice
may not worth $150 but it isn't that bad

I remember when I bought Morrowind in Germany I got English and German version of the game + awesome cloth map for normal pc game price.
I don't understand how they even sell 1 box of those CEs for 150...

Hey guys I had some questions about my comp before installing skyrim. Right now I can run oblivion on high but its not optimal so I play at a suped up medium. Here are my computer specs:

Operating system: Vista home premium
Processor: Intel Core 2 quad cpu Q8200 @2.33GHz (4cpus), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 6142MB Ram
Direct X 11
ATI Radeon HD 4350 , total memory 3319 mb

I'm sure I can run the game but my question is will I have to go down to low graphics with skyrims improved graphics?

With Steam DRM and digital distribution they don't rely as much on CE sales, so they can charge extra for CE that they know will sell pretty much regardless of price to the collector customer base.

oh well, considering how much they have spent onto commercials, I am not too troubled by that.
(I am used to seeing expensive japanese collector edition games price tag, so this one actually isn't so bad)

You are somewhere in the between medium-low. I think you can turn most of it to medium and if there are some taxing options you can lower those individually. If you got a friend that can help you overclock that can boost your performance.

Also the dragon looks like a quite big b*tch to produce. Worth 150$? Probably not. But based off the SCII collectors edition $120 is probably correct.

Thanks alot man, I kept panicking that I couldn't run it. Ya that seems reasonable, thanks for your time ^_^.

Yeah I'd have really loved the collector's edition for the map, but the most I'd be willing to pay would be £70-75 ($110-120ish) but it seems like they're actually going out of their way to just bleed a bit more cash out to the fans who'd be interested enough to get the CE version, which is a little dissapointing. I can't for a second believe it costs double the price of the game production for those extras.
