Game says it will not stock EA title Mass Effect 3
Game has apologised to customers on its Facebook page but does not give a reason for not being able to supply Mass Effect 3.
"We're contacting you with news that, unfortunately we are not in a position to supply you with your copy of Mass Effect 3," said a statement.
"As dedicated gamers, we know how disappointing this will be for you, and we apologise sincerely for the inconvenience that this will cause."
Game customers who have pre-ordered the title will be given £5 in loyalty card reward points.
The high street chain has refused to comment on reports that other EA games could be affected from next month.

Game is overpriced anyway. Haven't shopped in there for years.

Can't believe GAME is not stocking ME3. Now I can't use my points to get the CE. I'll just order it off Amazon I guess.

The interest in humans is most likely related to sheppard and the fact that humans have been the only race to threaten the reapers so far(Sovereign, Collectors, Destroying the alpha relay)

I'm so stoked for Mass Effect 3 it isn't even funny.
I'm going to re-start from 1 starting tonight to make sure all my little details are correct.
The only thing I haven't done is gotten the Shadow Broker DLC for ME:2. I'm contemplating getting it, do you guys think it's worth it?

I read the story on the ME wiki and it says the Reapers ''reproduce'' by melting down millions of individuals of a certain race to a genetic paste and building a Reaper out of them.
I guess it's the Human's turn.

That's the only DLC worth getting, and it is excellent.

I found shadow broker to be fairly entertaining, so if it is at a decent price(I pirated it since it was 10$which is far to much for DLC) i would say go for it. Its not very long(1½-2 hours) at most. But it was really well done. Arrival on the other hand i would stay clear off if you havent(Only story this tell is why sheppard was discharged in ME3, your choises have 0 inpact on the game and you cant use other part members)

The only thing I haven't done is gotten the Shadow Broker DLC for ME:2. I'm contemplating getting it, do you guys think it's worth it? How much is it? Personally I pirated it, and I liked it, definitely the best DLC (Project Overlord is cool as well), but I wouldn't pay 10 dollars or such for it.

If any DLC is worth it then its Lair of the Shadow Broker.
|
If you want to buy any DLC for ME2, buy Lair of the SHadow Broken. The mission design ist mostly better than the main game and it has a good price/value balance.
|
I should prob check my ME2 game and make sure I stayed loyal to Liara in my save. Also maybe get the shadow broker dlc and add that to my save that i plan to import.
|
Lair of the Shadow Broker was great fun and certainly worth your money as far as DLC goes. I certainly wouldn't recommend anything else.
|
Just going to chime in here about Shadow Broker too, definitely one of the best missions in the game! Overlord was good as well, but didn't seem worth the price.

ME3 comes out 3 days later in EU So unfair =((

It was without a doubt the best DLC of either of the first two games, hit it. now.

As I said previously, blue poon fans absolutely should get the Shadow Broker DLC.

That's what Legion says when you question him about Sovereign and the Reapers =)
Sovereign was a name given to him by the Geth and Saren. In his own database, he called himself Nazara. ===From here on is my baseless, yet educated speculation and guess=== The derelict reaper found in ME2 in which you acquire the IFF was 37 million years old. Assuming they always come ever 50 000 years, that's roughly 740 sweeps of life before. It was shot down by a long forgotten civilization (NOT PROTHEANS) as their last ditch effort to stave off destruction. The Nazara were probably some ancient race long ago that inhabited the milky way, and was turned into paste and made a reaper. Legion says that that way is attaining a certain form of immortality, unity as a species. There is no <<I>> as an individual but <we> as a species.
The reapers are "each an independent nation, free of all weaknesses", further shows that each one of them represents a civilization, or a species as a whole. It is not so hard to imagine that one could be destroyed as we have seen in ME1, so they have a need to reproduce, even if to just replenish their own numbers. The core of the reaper represents the species from which it was made from. That's what they tried to do with humans in ME2. Since every reaper looks the same on the outside, we can assume that on top of the core they put an all-purpose shell which acts as armour and weaponry etc.
The original reapers are probably long "dead". They were probably originally just a few races in the galaxy like we have now, that decided to turn themselves into these huge machines to attain unity and immortality. Whether they could not further reproduce, or they did that to defeat some greater threat, or just were (mis)guided (by something), or their calling deteriorated with time is unknown. Each cycle they would come back and from the chosen intelligent races, they would build more reapers. But all things have a life span, even stars. And so the original reapers died and the ones they created, forgot the original purpose of their existence and proceed to do, what they have seen from the older generations ---> FARM MEATBAGS EVERY 50K YEARZ.
Maybe they were built to fight something? To avert some type of catastrophe? To push evolution to it's limit and find species strong enough to surpass them? Are there still original reapers among the ones returning? Was it always "salvation through destruction" ? Maybe in the very early ages, there was a choice whether to become a species became a reaper or not?
This is the usual trend in space opera Sci-Fi books and games. I hope we will get more info on the Reapers in ME3. I want their plot explained.
