Also, why can't you holster your weapon...? It's kind of peeving me that there are 3 movement mods. Walking slow with your gun rigidly held out, jogging with your weapon rigidly extended, or running like a gorilla.

For those with Mass Effect 2, I get the sense that you're really going to want to get the Shadow Broker and Arrival DLCs in anticipation of Mass Effect 3. I haven't played through Arrival yet (though my understanding is that it paves the way for the beginning of the Mass Effect 3), but the Shadow Broker DLC results in a pretty damned important change to the universe.

So i've played the demo in SP and MP quiet a bit now on my ps3. The Framerate in Singleplayer is downright awful and i really could not stand to play through the whole thing. KI is retarded in SP and MP, Soldiers ignore your presence or fail to turn around if you flank them, or they take cover on the wrong side facing the player. i dont know if theres is more to the MP but right now its just your basic uninspired Wave Survival, with the new trading card system which is of course addicting.

if a lot of my buddies end up buying this i will too but its definetly not a must have for me

I really doubt they'll be any significant divergence to the story/universe based on decisions from ME2. Bioware usually flaunts these 'big decisions', but in the end there's no real impact to anything. Just look at ME1 -> ME2. Save the council, let them die, it didn't really matter. Bioware constructed ME2's storyline so that it wouldn't. Given the fact that this game has been further designed to target casual gamers & newcomers, I doubt they'll implement anything noteworthy.

As for the DLCs you're talking about, what's so important about it? They're pretty linear and Bioware can just easily incorporate the stories into ME3 without having to create diverging plots. They'll probably just have a few lore entries and dialogues to brief everyone about it.

Regarding the Shadow Broker DLC -- DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU WANT MAJOR SPOILERS
+ Show Spoiler +
The end result of the Shadow Broker DLC is that Liara becomes the Shadow Broker. Given the resources and power of the Shadow Broker's network, this seems like a pretty big deal that may have some major consequences for the third game. Keep in mind that you find out that the previous Shadow Broker is allied with the Collectors.

Also, if you're going the "blue poon" romance route with Liara, the DLC let's you rekindle that relationship.

So I played ME 1 and 2 on Xbox but since then I have become an avid PC gamer. I have tried searching origins for a ME2+DLC package but no luck. Anyone know of one so I can make an ME2 file to transfer to ME3?

You can download a completed save file and edit it to your liking, just google masseffectsaves. There's a way to convert saves from PC to 360 to PC, but I've never done it, don't own an xbox.

They're actually virtually identical, you better take off those rose colored glasses.

Played the demo, seems like they changed almost nothing from ME2 as far as gameplay is concerned. Which is alright I geuss, atleast they can't have fucked it up, was hoping for a bit more depth though. But amazing gameplay wasn't the reason I liked the previous game. I feel Mass Effect is all about story and dramatics. Can't tell too much about this from the demo but it should still be amazing. Only thing that really detracted from the experience was the animations, they are quite terrible for an otherwise good looking game.

Am really excited about the retail version. ME2 is one of my favorite games ever, if the sequel is anywhere close to as good will not be seen away from my PC for quite some time when this comes out. Going to play through Arrival now in preparation, only DLC I haven't completed.

Just played the multiplayer, its actually quite fun.

I was expecting it to be horrible but its pretty entertaining, its basically a wave-based survival co-op in which every player can choose its own class/race/weapons/skills. The levels seem fairly ''random'', even though the maps are always the same (2 in the demo, idk how many in retail) the waves themsevles are different and come from different regions of the map, depending on where you are.

Playing with strangers is not optimal and either no one has voice chat or it doesn't work yet (even though there are options for it). With friends it seems pretty promising.

Downloading multiplayer atm. At first I thought it was a terrible idea to add it, but it's grown on me constantly since it was announced. Now I'm kinda looking forward to it, hoping it'll be as fun as I suspect it might be

Tried out the multiplayer demo for the duration of the evening, loving it so far. Yet to be seen how repetetive it'll be when the real game comes out, but so far it's great to play with friends

I'm probably going to buy it based on this demo. I was a bit hesitant after the nightmare that was DA2, but this seems good enough. I loved ME1's story, and I loved ME2's gameplay. It looks like they kept the ME2 gameplay (they didn't change the vanguard much, woo!) so I'm going for it. I especially liked the new gunsounds alot.

I don't really understand all the hate. I'm having a lot of fun with the multiplayer, the voice acting is just as good as in the first two games, and gameplay and customization have improved significantly compared to ME2. The cover takes a little getting used to but it's fine once you learn to roll with it. I can't speculate on the story, but I'm sure it will be up to the standards of the first two games. My one annoyance is that my imported ME2 Shepard's face does not look like it did in ME2. I guess I'll have to spend a while tweaking it to get it to look right.

I finished the demo (PC version) few times, one of them on insanity, I have few points:
1. The dialog is cheesy at the 1st stage. Like "build my forge on 10" cheesy. Kinda disappointing from Bioware, but I think it will be better as the game goes on like it was in DA2.
2. Although console port, the visuals are better than ME2, especially on SurKesh stage, the textures are sharper.
3. The sound is very good for the most part, apart from music volume that seem weak at times. I had a sound bug that muted most of the sound but it was fixed after I died
4. Mark Meer voice acting is very bad at times (Male Shep). Enjoyed much more as expected Jennifer Hale's voice acting (Female Shep).
5. The most important part, gameplay: The cover and movement takes time to get used to, but once mastered, the game is a blast to play. As the AI is better, there seems to be no need for excessive protections for all enemies to make challenge in insanity difficulty. The normal difficulty is harder than ME2's EZ mode normal difficulty, and insanity actually provide different challenge than the endurance test in ME2 by making enemies more vulnerable to powers and the turret section require strategy and very good timings. Overall I think the gameplay is excellent, maybe just need a little more intuitive cover control (Maybe do Unreal Tournament dodge style rolls with tapping twice the direction key).
I'm playing the game, the one that will take me to my end, i'm waiting for the rain, TO WASH-- WHO I AM!!!
