Who said it sucks? I just choose not to download and install it for a demo.

I just started and i noticed a few things,
1 there is built in AA for once, finally. Also no more filter effects like film and motion blur lol 2 Options allow for you to turn of helmets for conversations, for you and your crew 3 There seems to be an auto play function to make all decisions for you so things play out like cutscenes. Eh it will be interesting to see what the all default settings are in the game though.
Doesn't look like there is an import feature for the demo, i wish there was i don't like the default Shepard male face, i might just play a female for the demo.
eh female Shepard looks better in the pictures then in game seems to put a HDR effect for her hair and face for the poster
You can get your me2 face though, as there still are codes for custom faces

Downloading the demo at the moment, fairly fast til 90% then it's taking it sweet as time, what a tease.
Somewhat disapointed with the Femshep look. I don't see what was wrong with the default me1/2 face anyways, just brush it up abit, and volia!
But I guess they wanted a big vote and whatever. Atleast you get to customize your own, so it's not really a big deal.

I find it funny how they have an action mode, cuz you know EVERYONE is gona play that. However that is a very interesting point that I did not think aboute, that cuz of multiplayer the game will be more like a shooter, well judging by the demo it isnt. Also they are suposed to work on the shooting anyway.
What your implying is that they pretty much changed the focus of the trilogy, lol. Im gona play the beta like..now so we will see how good it is. At first I thought they just added it to have it on the feture list, but since they are letting you play it Im guessing that is not the case.
When all is perfect put multiplayer in the game!

lol i can roll forward and side to side T-T too much john woo

I enjoyed the Demo. Improved gameplay and nice graphics. A bit sad that they stripped the dialogue options for the Demo so it feels not really "Mass Effect"-ish... Now I'm exited how the Multiplayer will play out, but it considering from what I played it should be at least fun for a couple hours but no everlasting pleasure. Final game - here I come,

Damn...the origin servers are blazingly fast...

The Controls are a bit jumpy. I keep flipping all over the place when i try to exit/enter cover, and i really hate the fact that i have to let go of the cover button to zoom, it just feels awkward when im used to 'hold to crouch' style controls rather than toggles

You have to let go of cover button to zoom? i never had that issue

The demo it self is quite wierd since they skip content from when you get onto normandy to that random planet.
On the plus side, seems like they got rid of hacking(thank god) in exchange for just holding your mouse cursor over a circle for a short time

So it got old fast.

To think this used to be a RPG franchise...
3 There seems to be an auto play function to make all decisions for you so things play out like cutscenes.
This is the nail in the coffin... I suppose I'll play it anyway, since I enjoy action games, too, but... gimme moar RPGGGGGGG (one day, there'll be a fuckin' PS:Torment2 ! Even if I have to program it myself ffs !)

It never was an RPG franchise. It was a shooter with some RPG elements. Mostly bad RPG elements like the inventory system in ME1.

Its a option, i honestly dont see the problem in it as long as you keep the dialog to the same as before. As its a FPS you are going to have people who dont give a shit about dialog and would click random options anyway,

Even if I have to program it myself ffs !) ? how does that take away decision making? it's a feature you can turn on and off, true rpg is hard to manifest in games, Bethesda has done the best work in this area esp with their fall out series. To be a role playing story you need the ability to effect the story that is all, ofc the depth to the story trees is all up to how much bioware wants, and this being the last of the series, they can actually tell proper story instead of just having minor plot changes

Although it is true that being able to make your character wear different things etc is all part of role playing it's not core to it, it's a very minor thing as it has nothing to do with your ability to effect the story, just your ability to believe in the character a bit more.

I guess I just projected all the whine that was on the forums when ME2 was released onto him. That was mostly because they removed the inventory and people were saying it was becoming just another shooter. I can't really appreciate the ability to affect the story in CRPGs after years of pen&paper RPGs. In BioWare games you usually are given some options and then all the choices lead to the same outcome with maybe one or two additional lines of dialogue thrown in.

My experience with the demo so far.
Frustration that i can't import my Shepard's face. Weirded out the whole time.
Make a sentinel, my favorite class for insanity in ME2. Play through first mission throwing everyone around, seems fun. Less challenging than ME2 insanity though.
Get to second mission, buy new skills, go to arrange them on hotkey bar, game crashes.
Can't load save, roll up an adept.
Play through first level again, have fun using singularity + warp to combo everyone.
Get to second mission, and since I'm carrying a ton of guns my powers take like 20 seconds to recharge. Fuck this shit.
Roll a Soldier, play through first mission again. Adrenaline Rush is still fun,
Get to second level - with so many guns the recharge on Adrenaline rush is like 10 seconds, which totally ruins everything that made soldier fun in ME2. Game crashes again after second fight.
Ragequit.

just open me2, load the game and then open up the menu go to squad go to Shepard and your face code should be on the top left.
