I literally can't smelt anything anymore, regardless of "technique" used. I find that I need to replace furnaces every so often to reduce the "omg my stuff disappeared" effect. Basically I make sure the furnace is actually empty, then just destroy and replace. If it looks like your stuff is gone and you're pretty sure no one stole the materials, the easiest/most reliable way I've found to retrieve the items is to log out of the server and log back in. Usually the first furnace you open will have its items visible. The second one might still be "empty," so you typically have to relog for each one. I'm not sure if the "visible" status is on a really short timer or if it's just the first furnace you open, because this only works about 85% of the time.

If you exit the spawn north, and go east immediately, you will come to a sign that says maze? You can use that area to your liking. If you need more space contact me, on TL/ingame/IRC, whatever.

Also Club SK is done near spawn but you'll have to ask me to turn all the redstone on.

FFF and the middle column started eating my coal, but only that colum. So I expanded the wall to a 5x3, and placed them like this: FAFAF and I've never had my furnaces eat my coal again. Try it, it might help. If it doesn't, well, blame Notch.

I am thinking of using sand for most of the structure and water for the colour accent.

I lost four furnances worth of coal and glass. I had to leave my project and start something else because I was mad.

However, notch forgot to remove some debugging things, so right now, hit F4 and a portal will appear next to you, and if you start as a new player on a server / new singleplayer world, you'll have a lavabucket. Server probably wont be going up untill this stuff is fixed. Wow lmao. ~_~ Here's hoping to a quick 5-second hotfix today..

It means that its going to be very buggy, and there is a good chance with every update that shit will break. You bought into an alpha test, meaning you didn't buy a finished product that is receiving updates, you bought a incredibly buggy, unreliably product that is likely to break at any moment. Now you are complaining that you are getting what you bought. Seriously complaining isn't gonna make it get fixed faster
