I haven't touched MTG in years, the last packs i remember were Urzas Saga/Legacy. But the MTG scene just died out around my place at that time. I pretty much didn't know about MTGO, but a friend that i played MTG with years ago asked me if i play it, because he was interested but didn't know anything about it. So we started talking about good old casual MTG times, i even found my old box of cards that hasn't been touched in more than 10 years( yay for sengir vampire deck :p ). It ended up with us both getting a MTGO account. We read some articles on it to start out. We build some recommended decks of the Gold Border Planeswalker cards and fooled around, to get an idea about new mechanics/spells & stuff. Reading a lot of different articles the basic idea to start out seems to be building a pauper deck and that's probably what we will do after doing some more reading. We both don't wanna spend too much time & money on MTGO but i can see me investing some money into it, if i am having fun with it. Is pauper decks still the best "general" way to start out? just asking because most of those articles were over 1 yr old. A lot of articles tell you to trade the booster you get with the account for event tickets. So each of us got m13 boosters sitting around. The bots buy them for only 2 event tickets, because it seems that m14 boosters will be available soon( did i get that right? ). Will those boosters transfer to being m14 boosters? Or did i loose 1-2 event tickets in value because i signed up too early for m14 boosters to be around? Oh yeah, i am using the beta client, is the standard client just as unresponsive and slow?

The last time I drafted was M13 since I usually only draft the core sets. Thanks! I'm not much of a Limited player, but my impression is that if you're doing that RTR pack you just go for bombs and removal and see where that takes you. You may also want to consider guild alignment and how your three-colours are going to work out. For example, if you're going deep W/R then you have Boros to fall on in GTC but you want to make sure you have a fairly aggressive deck as a result. Alternatively, if you're getting very strong RTR guild alignment, then think of what your plan is for the next two packs and what you'd rather be splashing. GTC you start solidifying your colours and focus your deck. DGM you want to first pick all the colour fixing you get I assume. That being said, I always thought the order was DGM/GTC/RTR.

It'll probably be really expensive cause MM is a limited print run so Foils are going to be so limited. That being said, it will be in the new foiling method so it'll likely be incredibly beautiful.

Still probably won't buy a box because too many cards I'm not interested in. Would rather just purchase singles. Although this looks like it's shaping up to be really interesting to Draft. 1. - No Thoughtsieze means it's going to jump in price even more, and should now be at the top of the "short list" of cards needing a reprint. I'm hoping it shows up in M14 personally, as having it legal for 15-18 months seems better than having it be in Theros block where it can be legal for 18 months to 2+ years. 2. - The few most recent Modern bannings - Bloodbraid Elf, Seething Song, and Second Sunrise - are nowhere to be seen in MM, so there's a good chance WotC knew it was going to ban those cards before finalizing their print run, which is interesting as the Second Sunrise ban should have been decided upon after the finalized list was sent to the printers.

Or if we go by your logic on 2, then Thoughtseize will be banned (highly unlikely).

i know that you can lookup single cards on mtgolibrary and it tells you which bot running their software sells/buys that card and the price, is there something similar for decks instead of single cards?

Rules of changed also since you started on Urzas Saga/Legacy which may be very important depending on how serious of a player you were. Momir is a horrible way to start for someone trying to grind infinite. Huge variance and bad payout = high risk for little reward. Momir always pays out in core set, m13 is worth barely over 2 tix (which is cost of entry) per pack. Pauper is a great way to start for tournaments if you're serious, a competitive deck can be purchased for anywhere between $20 to $50. If you're just looking for fun, do a couple drafts/sealed.

Thanks, that makes things a lot easier, although it took me 15 minutes to figure out how to display All cards and not just the one i own ![]() Edit: Wish list doesn't seem to do anything in the trade window ( beta client )
