I jump around and feel lucky alot when i even get some magic items with "+2" such as my recent "uber"-item "short swort +2" lol, so don't post some god-mode items plz. I will only feel bad about it , hehe (plz use spoilers ). But yeah back to my question. I wanted to go dual scimitar, but hell i didnt know that i couldn't buy some up until Act 3 or so ! Don't wanna rush it though, I am doing all the minor quests and such. Btw I've already noticed that it is not always useful to solve the quest right ? As for example the quest to get this "Girdle of piercing" or smth like that. I mean the item is so much better than 100g that i would have hotten as reward isn't it ? Besides this, i've accumulated a tons of gems. What can i do with them ? Or is it just for sale ? Dunno, I'm kinda playing it like Diablo lol . And btw pffff i don't need stoneskin and this shit I have my uber-spell "bless" lol xD j/k. Being a noob is so cool so much to explore Thx. by the sound of it u're playing bg1, and i do remember quite a few quests that was about finding some item for some dude and the items were usually much more useful than the reward for solving the quest, so yeah don't solve those quests if you want to keep the item. the gems are only useful for selling!

You also lose your items in the prison. well , if you pause the game immediately then you can pick all your stuff up from your imported character - i should know cos i did it theres a guide on the web that goes into more detail , it might take you a few tries to time it just right

yep but why would you try to use a lame glitch when you can use the console and get all the items you want ?

Help please!
Iam fighting vs a Troll as we speak but Iam unable to finish him off. This fight lasts since more then 10 Minutes and he is "near Death" but when he lays on the ground he is imune to all attack.
He can't kill me either because i have -2 Armour and the Sword from the Prison...
I casted all my spells upon him yet he was imune. I really want to see him dead, I would do everything... any tips?
Edit: He still isn't dead... I ragequited... gay game =s

You have to use fire on downed trolls i believe....fire arrows, a fire spell etc.
|
yeh i think you can also use acid to kill trolls?
|
Yes acid or fire. So acid arrows, flame arrows, polymorph into a fire elemental, cast fireball, firebolt, agahanz scorcher, melfs acid arrow, minute meteors.. A billion spells and items can help you. When you know you are fighting trolls either buy some 40x of fire arrows or prepare lots of low level fire spells is my tip.
Later in the game, you will get melee weapons that are "+1 fire" for example. It means that with every hit they deal one additional point of "fire" damage. Its enough to kill those trolls so just hold out they wont be a head ache the whole game.
EDIT: Your characters will say from time to time, "my weapon has no effect!" This means what it says, they cannot harm their current target with their current weapon. This might be because you need elemental damage (vs trolls), you CANNOT have a certain kind of elemental damage (fire vs fire elemental), they are protected by spells and you need highly magical weapons (+x), they are imune to piercing/slashing/blunt weapons (golems are notorious for this).
Whenever you hear them say that their weapon has no effect you need to check out why, either figure it out if you can or ask here.

Korgan berserking is immune to both stuns and int drain just buff the crap out of him and send him roaring :D To be really safe I think using throwing axes would be a good option, there are a couple of magical returning ones.

the good thing about the umber hulks is that they insta-die against cloudkill

I like the "death spell" too. Its the same strenght as cloudkill, meaning it kills everything cloud kill will kill, umber hulks, trolls, basically every mob, as well as every hostile summon! And instead of poisoning your own guys, just does it in one fell swoop, and doesnt even allow them to save!
Oh and it also, like cloud kill, one shots Mind flayers... As long as they dont pass their 98% magic resitance roll...

It only happens to like a few percentage of the dialogue, and it's a bit funny at times. Sometimes the characters have really long names, like a few sentences long. In my experience, that is the result of installing mods in the wrong order.
I swear I followed that order, but there are a lot of options you have to fill for every mod, isn't it possible they can conflict somehow?
I seem to have another, more serious problem. Durlag's tower and a few other areas have some crazy lag, like it literally takes 10 seconds to click somewhere with your mouse. I've tried switching 3d acc on and off, but I don't know what else to do, BG2 config doesn't really have a huge variety of options...

need some opinion on which character is more fun to play in BG1 and BG2 - male or female?

There are a couple other minor dialogue changes, but you don't notice a lot of them. As a male PC, you've got 3 romance options--Aerie, Jaheira, and Viconia, and as a female, you only get Anomen to deal with. Seeing as Anomen is annoying and whiny as hell (basically just like every other white-knight companion that Bioware has written), has poor stats, and a mediocre class combination, you'd probably just ditch him anyway. A male PC is likely to be much more interesting.

Yeah, BG2 simply has more NPC interaction for male characters. There's no other impact from having different genders.

You can also install a patch for some lesbian romance!
