I jump in with fire, put down the aoe spell Ring of Fire, switch to earth, quickly use Earth Quake and Arcane Wave, popping the combo finisher Blast (i dunno if it works for both? or if the ring of fire disappears after the first blast? To me it feels like both earth quake and arcane wave pop the blast combofinisher). If any1 still alive, i pop Churning Earth, exploiting the fact that the enemies are knocked down by Earth Quake. Enemies usually get one hit off by then, but I got Mist Form to save me if it turns south. Now, I'm only lvl 19 so i dunno how well this applies at higher lvls, and what the 3d utility spell would be. I'm thinking Energy Shield or Armor of Earth. Probably Tornado for Elite skill. What do you think Ryndaris?

What do you think Ryndaris? I haven't played all that much with D/D on my Ele. I do remember though, around level 60, I was bored with the staff and tried out D/D and S/D to mix things up... but it didn't end all that well, by then I was fighting a lot of Risen and the whole thing turned out to be quite an ordeal. Switched back to staff very quickly.

Switched back to staff very quickly. I'm level 24 now and this build is doing surprisingly well! I have no trouble at all soloing packs of 5 and the wintersday boxes. I modified the course of action a bit, still jumping in with ring of fire, switching to earth, Earthquake, Arcane Wave and start loading up Churning Earth. When the mobs get back from the stun of Earthquake, use Signet of Agility (!), you can use it while channeling Churning Earth. Enemies should be dead now or die soon after from the bleeds. If not, just finish them of with air/frost ![]() Love the build!

Now the mesmers and shiat have to decide if they take their condi removal utis before they see what kind of thief I'm playing. Also other thieves are 0 problem for the build.

I was able to play the next day :D The support needed some info but then I could play. My ingame inbox was full of crap though :/ This game is prettier than I remembered, back then I couldn't play because of lag and Server issues. edit: basically I did this: hacked account: a guidehttps://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9212 Now I have linked my account to an authenticator.

Seems like a sorry excuse that your putting in their mouth because never once did they try to give that impression.

If you wanna grind, go play wow or one of the other 1 million grinding mmos out there. I don't think that's true at all. That might have been the impression before the game's release, but right now PvP definitely feels lacking compared to PvE. WvW is a joke (pure zerg-fest) and structured seems to be fading away, at least as far as top-tier competition is concerned. Overall I'd say the vast majority of the playerbase is focused on PvE right now.

Overall I'd say the vast majority of the playerbase is focused on PvE right now. And when you say focused on PvE you mean grinding items for legendaries so they use them in WvWvW. Because theres absolutely nothing to work for in this game endgame wise. All PvE content is do-able in sub-par gear and the only lasting thing to do is PvP or explore everything.

For those 60$ they got 100-200-300 or even more hours of entertainment out of the game, while many more are still playing. I think it was worth every penny I paid for it, and only BW and Dota2 come close to the level of entertainment I got, for this amount of money. Sure end game could be improved since it's either karma farm, gold farm, legendary farm, ZvZ or sPvP (since noone ever runs dungeons anymore) but the journey there was AWESOME.

Sure end game could be improved since it's either karma farm, gold farm, legendary farm, ZvZ or sPvP (since noone ever runs dungeons anymore) but the journey there was AWESOME. I paid 60$ as well as 20$ for bank slots/etc. during the initial Trading Post downtime. I'd say I had 60-70 hours tops of actual fun with the game (Ele 'till 40, Warr 'till 30) with the rest of my /age spent trying to find some aspect of the game that I'd enjoy. I failed and I don't see myself playing GW2 ever again, unless the game undergoes drastic changes in terms of gameplay development direction. Unfortunately that is extremely unlikely and if I were able to get a refund on GW2 I'd take it in a heartbeat, because GW2 was hands down the worst purchase I made this year (maybe ever, in terms of video games) - this doesn't mean I think it's the year's worst game, but it was a huge disappointment for me personally and the worst game that I bought. I paid 60$ for my copy of Skyrim more than a year ago - I played it for 250 hours and it's still going strong. Dota2 is free (spent ~30$ in the store) - 500 hours and counting. I spent 40$ on LoL and while I don't have an accurate /played time, it's at least ~150 hours - and I'm going to keep playing it for god knows how long. SW:ToR was 60$ + 1 month's subscription: had fun, was somewhat disappointed by the end, but I didn't regret the purchase at all. This is what makes GW2 stand out from other games I've bought for me - regretting spending ANY money on it. Playing it didn't give me any unique experiences or satisfaction, nor does it have any future prospects. I could have spent the time I played GW2 playing Dota2/LoL/Skyrim and I wouldn't have missed a single thing, while spending money on games that are actually enjoyable. Honestly I'm really tired of the "but you got X hours of gameplay out of this product!" argument. I don't buy games to spend X amount of time playing them. I buy games because I want to have fun playing them - this is the bottom line. If I spend 100 hours playing a game searching for the promised XYZ which turn out to be nothing more than the most vaporous of hype those 100 hours are worthless to me, whereas 30 hours of an engaging story/satisfying gameplay are easily worth 60$.
