I don't agree.
I played GW1 for years and still occasionally log in to punch people in the Random Arena. I played GW2 for 2 weeks until i was level 65 and haven't logged in since then.
It's very different and removed all the good stuff from GW1 and replaced everything with an improved WoW clone.
Classes are bland. Skills are uninteresting. Questing is boring. The Story is ok-ish. Dynamic Events are fun... once. WvWvW is fun for a while. sPvP is bad (compared to GW1 GvG).
It's a huge improvement over all other open world MMOs (WoW, Aion, Rift, etc.) but compared to GW1 it is severely lacking.
I'm still waiting for the "We bring real GvGs and Guild Halls back" announcement. That might make me play again.

Having a lot of fun playing but I am just level 40. I try to enter WvsW but the server is full. I am not sure what would I do when I reach level 80, but I think from Anet business model, they should release a lot DLC in the future..

Classes and skills are not bland and come across as similar to GW1 imo, well many of them do. So i dont see your point there.
Questing and dynamic events are different from WoW or one of its clones, i would say its a hybrid of WoW and GW1 questing, but both we're boring anyway, a mix wont change it. I happen to really enjoy GW2's questing in comparison to any others, but that doesnt make it "Omg super fun"
WvWvW i wont comment on, for some reason i can play it for 2-3+ hours but when i come away i think "Well, all i did was hit a wooden door and then run from a bunch of people that was bigger then the bunch of people i was with" - Its pretty terrible, but somewhat addictive / amusing.
sPvP, basically you dont like their design choices, the choice of "game mode" which is basically domination with 3 points, it promotes smaller battles instead of big 5v5 brawls, but they still happen anyway. I felt the same way when HoH was changed to 6v6 - I immediately quit the game :3 - Im guessing this will change eventually or there will be more variation. Halls was a prime example of it in GW1, it had all sorts of different maps and modes, i have faith.
And i fucking love it! :D Wasting time in wvw, being amused by simple questing, or doing awesome spvp (sorry, love it.) Its just damn awesome :D. I cant wait for ladder rankings and such in pvp though :<

The Shatterer first spawn a 4:00 CEST and respawns 3h after death. iunno about this...Teq's timer is 2:45 for me. And Claw is 2 hours for the preevent from death. Shat is 3 hours from death to start the pre-event. Tequatl can spawn between 2h30 and 3h after death because he has no pre-event.
As for WvW, if you don't know what to do it'll be boring. But it's actually very dynamic if you manage to have a small group (up to 10-15), you can defend towers, take supply, intercept caravans and be very annoying to the enemy zerg. Right now the biggest problem of WvW are the night teams who are demoralizing every opponent that can't put up the same taskforce.

Not every explorable section actually needs to be revealed to complete all the hearts/poi's etc, I know because I've missed some myself and I'm on 99% in game, missing only one bugged Orr SP, but 98% on character select. I was planning to test the theory, but I cba moving my character from the SP in Orr until it's fixed. In GW1 the exploration titles were earned by actually revealing all of the map itself, so that's where I got the idea from. But yeah, just a hunch.
Now that I think about it, maybe it includes the Puzzle Achievements as well for world completion. They are located in the Explorer tab and theres about 40 of them.

Just dinged 80 now to start working on the stat setup and gear. So I ran CoF Magg last night first time yea that is easy super easy actually. I could see it being long with people getting lost but yea.
Twilight arbor Up path is fun and just about the right bite size I like for dungeon. It can be done in 30 minutes or can be horrible and not pass if you have a bad party that doesnt listen. Oh pugging dungeons is sooo fun lmao.

since we're talking about gw1 a bit, I kind of miss the 2 professions and being able to mix/match. I only played the original vanilla GW1 but I made a sweet WArrior/Necro and it was pretty cool to see all of the other combos, even if some were broken, Wa\Mo.

I'd have to agree with you. Except I really feel the WvW and PvP are lacking for the mean time. Both are really good and fun in their own right, but lack certain features.
sPvP needs to have exp rewarded, even if its a little. I was extremely disappointed that I couldn't do sPvP instead of WvW for xp.
WvW needs bigger maps, or just combine 2 or even all of the current WvW areas. It's too easy for people to get with the main battle, forcing to muster into these large zergs that either steam roll or get rolled. Its not extremely viable to go out solo, or with a small group because you just run into constant reinforcements of 10+ people.
The Zerg's are way too concentrated because of this; its nothing but massive zergs stomping on each other, hardly any tactics or thought. I've played Dark Age of Camelot, that game's RvR (realm vs realm) was ruled by zergs, but they were mostly small (~20ppl) efficient groups of devastation, not blobs of chaos. This was because the RvR area was MASSIVE (called Frontiers which lead into more neutral fighting zones which lead to enemy frontiers), and a small group of people were enough to disassemble and annihilate the larger (pick up group) zergs, or even avoid them altogether.
Edit: To be more elaborate: Since the RvR area was so large, you'd have a higher frequency of larger zergs near the frontiers, points of contention (keeps, towers, etc) but smaller and smaller zergs/groups further out; leaving a lot of variety and diversity to the types of fighting going on. So you had plenty of options, and enough room to run when you didn't.
WvW in GW2 may change to be more like that; Guilds doing small pre-mades separate of the zerg, but I doubt it with such small maps that accrue zergs of 100+ people. I get the whole War feel, and the big battles, but there is hardly anything else you can do but join the large zerg, and its alright for that aspect. I just get 0 satisfaction from it because you really have such a minuscule role to play, even if you're a great player.
The reason why I even mention DAoC is because GW2 seems to have been influenced by it, which I hope is true; it has probably THE best PvP system out, to date. It had 3 warring factions, thus the Realm vs Realm. They can learn a lot from it, especially with the WvW. Just my opinion, I like both sPvP and WvW but they could be much better.

This game sucks (for anyone considering getting it). The initial impressions WERE cool..
But the endgame (level 80) structure is horrid. Whoever designed the PvP system is a dumbass, because your progress in sPvP is completely irrelavent to the "real" world ie you can't get shiny loots from arena-PvP which is what I enjoyed in a lot of MMOs (SWTOR, WoW). The level 80 PvE is confusing and looks quite boring / unfulfilled.
Basically, if you like being better than other people and thus having cooler gear than other people, don't play this game. It may sound elitist, but that is a big reason as to why I enjoyed WoW when I played it (having my glad title, arena tabard etc). If you are very casual and just want a pretty world to explore, then this game is definitely awesome for you.

i have negative feelings for this game as well.
Mainly i hate the WvWvW map design. It basically tunnels a zerg to enemy zergs, its not very interesting from a strategic point of view. Its just like Tarrens Mill vs Southshore, if anyone remembers (god im old) And instanced mmo pvp is not my thing, i can play LoL or dota for a better version of that
I also dont agree on class balance, but luckily this game has no sub, so i can come back when it got better or play very casually.

Um. I'm just gonna be an asshat real quick. You're fucking retarded as hell. Having cooler gear in this game, means having cooler LOOKING gear. It's still cooler. I'm sorry you want ez mode WoW garbage where you can farm your character to god mode status because of gear. They wanted to avoid that because it's a horrible, terrible, shitty system. Winning because of gear differential is the dumbest thing MMO's have ever done. You don't like it because everyone is on the same foot. Everyone has the same exact gear to choose from. That makes it much better. My character looks cooler than yours. That's good enough for me. Why do I need a sword that'll do 500 more damage a hit? I don't, that's called balancing towards no lifers. And is terrible for the game.

WvW is a lot better when you're with a competent guild with a strategically minded commander. Grindhouse Gaming has 100+ players on during prime time and a good deal of them play WvW. The commander (Waveofbabies) uses a lot of hit and run tactics, all of which eventually lead to one big push. Today, we spent a decent amount of time cutting off supply from Shad Hills while also draining supplies with constant attacks on the keep.
The other night, we snuck 8 siege golems to the backdoor entrance of Borderlands garrison Seal Team 6 style. :D
Without a good commander, WvW sucks pretty bad. It's like being a zergling for the dumbest Zerg overmind ever.

Regarding the state of WvW
As mentioned at least once, (I have skimmed the last 8 pages, sorry if I'm repeating arguments) the main problem with WvW right now is the structure of the map. I am speaking about the borderland map, as I don't really have the patience to queue for EB. If you spend some time and really inspect its structure, you'll see that it is completely funneled other than the lake. There are a few places for groups to hide temporarily, but it is virtually impossible to 'roam' effectively because of the geometry and the mobs everywhere. Unless it becomes possible for coordinated groups to start killing 2.5-3x their numbers, which is unlikely due to the downed state as it exists now, roaming will not be effective. The DAoC reference made a few posts above is essentially correct in that the main thing missing from this version of WvW is a way to avoid the zerg and still be useful.
This means that 80-90% of fighting is zerg on zerg tower/keep fighting. I feel that they have designed this aspect poorly, and it's becoming very obvious that victory is completely dependent on the willingness of its combatants to buy siege. There are many obnoxiously safe treb spots that are being puzzled out, and a blitzkrieg multiple ram rush is the only effective (legal) way of avoiding a drawn out battle while taking a point. A game around siege equipment is problematic even if it is free. People didn't level to 80 and painstakingly collect their exotics to stand in place and watch a siege bar. It's purely a novelty in terms of enjoyment, and people will get sick of it pretty quickly.
tldr; WvW needs new map(s). There are too few accessible paths of attack/retreat, and keeps are all about spending money on siege.

I wonder how Zerglings feel when they are controlled by legit bronze players...
But yeah, WvWvW quality really depends on who you play with, and how good the commander(s) on your server is. If you got two armies with really great tacticians/commanders on both sides, then it would turn into massive enjoyable war. Hell, reading about how both armies move would be really good reading.

gw2 doesn't seem to have the pull that it had at first. it is a great game. sPvP seems fun to me and something i want to get better at, the amount of teamwork necessary is tremendous, and how they've handled the scale of the gigantic game is quite amazing.
there's just some pieces missing, unfortunately the time investment required by everyone is considerably large, session gaming (as in FPS titles, moba) doesn't really come across in the endgame.. and unfortunately, there's probably that part of us that really actually wants to farm that loot ala WoW style and have it play a larger role in how it functions with other game activities. there are a lot of things you can do in the game (sometimes even boring with being non-linear, and dynamic events being so similar) that doesn't end up feeling as rewarding as in other games, and maybe just the timing of it all--- major game releases right after the gw2 hype dies down.
as far as i can see it, it's a game that you play with other people though with lots of hidden depth. unfortunately with everyone putting the game down, it's not nearly as fun for me, and i would have to find another active squad to play with if i wanted to keep going with end-game and new characters.

the only thing that really annoys me is that on my server skill challenges in a lot of areas are flat out bugged, who the hell knows how it got this way but since several days (at least 4 days) u cant finish certain areas (leveling a guardian) and cant finish charr / sylvari / asura starting areas and the second human / charr / asura areas cant be completed too
can report them as much as i want, not gotten fixed yet, i dont like unfinished buisness so its bothersome for me
