in WvW PvP you use your PvE character.

And to answer your question, if you only want to play PvP why should you have to PvE and level a guy from 1-80?
Because a level 1 who is autoleveled to 80 in PvP will still get beaten by a level 80 in WvW because gear stays the same, if you are talking about purely competitive PvP I guess you don't have to level to 80 in PvE. WvW is set up so that a lower level can compete with a higher level, but the higher level will still have a distinct gear advantage at the end of the day. I also think you can level up via WvW, unsure though.

The problem is. Its a MMO and not SC2 where you login and play like 5 games. I want to equip my char with PvP-Gear see my char get stronger.

That's if you enter PvP with a PvE character. If it's like GW1 then you can create a PVP ONLY character who will have max lvl gear.

If it's like GW1
They've said countless times that this is NOTHING like Guild Wars 1.
Stop comparing it to that. It's only Guild Wars in name and lore and how you pay for it. For better or worse.

That doesn't mean their design philosophy has completely changed, alot of ideas still carried over from GW1, this seems to be one of them.

We have heard absolutely nothing on when creating a character you make it PVP only.
And yes, it does mean their design philosophy has completely changed if they're trying to make a game that is nothing like the first one and is balanced completely differently. We simply don't know how everything works yet.

Yeah
They want to make it so you don't have to choose. That you can have fun with PvP AND PvE on the same character, however, higher levels in WvW will still have a gear advantage over lower levels.

That is unfortunate. The option to make a PvP only character was perfect imo.

I would really like to join the guild but the requirements say that you need to be able to attend to a certain amount of events each week.
I posted in the recruitment forums and was told I should join the casual subguild. I do not think I fit LV's requirements and they do not meet mine, is there really no way for me to join either division instead of Legacy Vanguard?
I will not be able to attend to the required events but it's tough for a European gamer to get through.
Canadar, I remember a dev saying that when you enter WvWvW you get armor that is comparable to a real level 50 The only difference is that the true 50 has all the skills and probably more experience (therefore it's improbable but not unheard of for a noob to kill someone who has a higher true level).

I heard the exact opposite. That you get all the skills and stats, but you get lower gear and that your gear is only scaled in the competitive PvP thing.

"World PvP takes place in the Mists, a proto-reality between worlds and realms such as Tyria. It will be accessible to characters almost immediately from character creation. However, players joining World PvP enter with their current equipment and skills and their level is increased to level 80 automatically through sidekicking."
If I read right we're both wrong, current armor and skills are applied.
