I don't like that they're not on a team I like.
Is that why you hate Aaron Rodgers?
And would you like a guy like Ward if he ended up playing for a team you like?

I dislike Rodgers for a more personal reason, actually. It has nothing to do with football. My disdain for Green Bay has nothing to do with football, actually. I just moderately disliked them until about two years ago. But there is a situation in my life that is closely attached to that city, so Green Bay itself brings back bad feelings, so I don't like the town in general, and it spreads to their sports teams.
I would like Ward if he were on the Bears, or Broncos when they had talent on the team. I think Ward would be a perfect fit for a team like Chicago, whose history is similar to Pittsburgh's (great defense, strong running game, passionate fans, etc).

Yeah, he's an amazing WR in every way. Pass catching, blocking, consistency. He's a stud

He didn't break the record, though. Jerry Rice holds it with 274.
On an interesting note, Brandon Marshall is the only player to have caught 15+ passes more than once in his career (based upon the records list I'm looking at, and the lack of an additional player listed with him. There's a slim chance I'm wrong.)

It was a Steeler's team record I believe you are referring too.
|
Yeah it was something like 150+ games with a catch

How do you guys feel about Walter football? I personally like most of his mocks.

Another great thing about Hines, is he teaches those guys how to play football at a extremely competitve level. Holmes never ever threw a block in ohio state, since playing with ward, he's right up there when it comes down to being a physical receiver, I've seen holmes lay out some huge hits in a steelers jersey that made Ryan Clark cringe..
We've seen the same thing this year with Sanders, this sunday, watch the slot guy (usually sanders) on the steelers patented counter play, he'll dish out a few hits... Ward rubs off on everybody, and he's a great guy to have on our offense teaching these kids the ropes.. There is a reason Ward leads player polls for most hated/dirty player.

I like Mayock. He does a very good job consistently. Count Dracula and McShay are pretty unbearable, particularly the count.

The only entertaining thing about McShay and Kiper is there obvious contempt for each other.
|
If only they would put them in an octagon instead of at a desk.

Mike Mayock is great. He's definitely my favorite guy to listen to when talking about prospective players. I like Merril Hodge a lot too. Hodge definitely seems to understand the game of football better than a lot of the other people on TV, and certainly more than the rest of the ESPN crew.

Alright Ladies and gents, day before the games. Let's get some picks going.
Jets @ Steelers - Going to go homer on this one. I feel like the Steeler's beat them selves for most of the first half last time and were without two key guys in Miller and Polamalu. The Oline, while wasn't great, was decent. Roethlisberger can extend the play, Manning and Brady couldn't.
Packers @ Bears - This one is a tough one. I feel like the Bear's secondary can match up relatively well with Green Bay. Pepper's could have a huge impact on this game. I think the Bears lack of talent out wide shows up here, and Tramond Williams basically shuts it down. I also don't trust Cutler too much, as he has had his terribly erratic moments. I think Green Bay ekes this one out by a small margin.

Steelers Packers Sorry lemons

I'm gonna say:
Steelers 24-20 Jets
The Sanchize blows it for the Jets.
Packers 31-21 Bears
Aaron Rodgers is just too good.

There is no way the Packers put up 31 on the Bears D in Soldier Field. I don't think you guys realize just how bad that field is... it practically nullifies the Packers' offensive speed.
I'm considering betting the Bears and the under on this, but something tells me it'll be over 43 points, like a 24-21 kind of game, with my guys winning, of course.

What, they can't be like the Pats and score 36 on that field in a blizzard?

Firstly, that was a fluke. Secondly, it's two completely different offensive styles. Thirdly, they're division rivals, and blowouts almost never happen when both teams are good.
