Brett Favre has filed his retirement papers. I'd have to think this is actually going to be it for him.
@KOFgokuon - can Cutler actually grow facial hair? I don't recall seeing any, though, I'll admit I didn't pay very much attention to that game given it was incredibly unentertaining. It's clear that the play offs will be decided by the team with the most manly facial hair. Brett Keisel already has given the Steelers a leg up.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Look like tommy wll be with me.'' --@untouchablejay4, Baltimore pass-rusher Terrell Suggs, minutes after the Patriots and the quarterback he loves so much, Tom Brady, lost Sunday night to the Jets.
LMAO. This past weekend has been depressing (for me) because all the teams I hate advanced. Except for the Packers.

I know other people had responded, but I thought I'd throw this out as well:
First, the Pats put more points on the board, imo more easily, than the Colts did. If the Jets score 17 yesterday, they lose. Which says exactly what about Brady/Manning again?
But anyway, what this actually says about Brady and Manning is: - you can blitz Brady and he'll feel pressured and lose some of his "it" - you can create headaches for Manning by keeping everyone covered
Which just says, "Hey, Brady and Manning play differently." Which we all know. To over-simplify, if you blitz Manning, somebody will be open and he'll find him. On the other hand, with the Pats offense if you give Brady time somebody will get open - and Brady will find him. All Ryan & his DC showed is that they understand this, and gameplanned for two different teams.
I watched the NFL replay of the week 1 Eagles vs Packers the other day.
Jermichael Finely is perhaps the most beastly man I've ever seen. The fact that the packers kept their offense rolling almost better than it's ever been when Finley and Grant went down really is impressive.

I agree P. Manning is better than Brady but not that Rex Ryan's different approaches to handling each of their offenses is supportive of that opinion. I think it's much more a case of different offenses operating differently, and having different tendencies and different strengths and weaknesses. Football is too much of a team game (and a game of coaching) to try to make a connection like that. It seems way off base to imply that Rex Ryan thinks his plan against the Colts was how you ought to handle a QB of P. Manning's level and his plan against the Pats was how you ought to handle a QB of Brady's level, and that the differences in his plans clearly indicate that P. Manning is absolutely better than Brady. Brady is certainly capable of beating a defense that blitzes. There are variables like the coaching staff planning plays that get receivers open for a quick pass, and receivers actually getting open when they ought to, that are out of the control of the QB. P. Manning is of course a god at reading defenses, calling audibles when necessary, and really taking as much control as possible as a QB to shut down a blitzing defense, and I confidently say he's superior to Brady in that respect, but that's still only one aspect of playing the QB position. That alone does not make P. Manning better, but it's the only thing you address (and indirectly at that).
Most importantly, it doesn't say much for Rex Ryan (or his fans) that he gets praised for considering P. Manning better than Brady. What an accomplishment! Rex Ryan is a genius!
I always wonder why would someone pick an obnoxiously retarded post and write a long reply to it. There's so much logic in everything if you apply it after the fact, not pregame. Manning was so amazing this season with 17 interceptions, suddenly he is an absolute mastermind compared to Brady. Because why? Pats just lost in a horrible fashion to a team with no shot at a Superbowl. What was Brady like before this game? He was amazing, stunning performance, best year of his career.
It's just dumb to say that Jets were afraid of Manning more than Brady. They had to approach the games differently but not because Brady is incapable of putting on a clinic. Brady very well might be a superior QB, how many times has Manning lost in the first round of playoffs already? How many Superbowls has he won? This debate is so ridiculous when things get taken out of context. Half of the Patriots team were entirely different people compared to last year. It was shocking they went 14-2 with that supporting cast, but it is understandable why those young players crumbled in playoffs. It was a task for an MVP to go 14-2, but it wasn't just his fault for losing to Jets.
In what world is this better than his 50 TD year? Playoff losses can't be attributed solely to a QB, the same way that Super Bowl wins can't. That's such a stupid argument.
Also, the four QBs all have that nasty moustache/beard thing goin' on.
Man, I am a genius.
Clay Matthews is not the best LB in the league. He's one of the better pass rushing LB's, but there are several other guys that are much better in coverage, and also better in run support. It's not even a fair label to put on a position, since the responsibilities of each LB spot are different.

Yeah, there was definitely some major shit between Al Davis and Cable that was irreconcilable. He probably would have had to win the SB for him to have any chance of staying.

Yeah, unless Al Davis is suffering from dementia, I think there was something going on that we don't know about.
