They threw a bunch of winnable games away due to mental mistakes, turnovers, and inconsistent play. I don't know how much the coach is to blame for this, usually it's fair game if the QB was his guy, but he was stuck with Smith(s). He can't control what the QB does, and the Smiths were huge problems at times. From what I saw they moved the ball better on average than the Rams, and way better than the Seahawks, but they threw away their field position way too much whether it be with turnovers or less obvious bad QB decisions. Without seeing more than a few games I can't say whether it was something that could have been coached around.
I think this firing goes beyond Singletary's performance as a coach though, he only had two years, and their record is still reasonably accounted for by some bad luck at bad times. It's not like they were supposed to win more than 9 games anyway. To fire a guy on the road with one game left makes me think its either a bad attempt at scapegoating, which makes little sense as Smith is the only other guy with low job security who will be blamed by the fans and he sucks, or it's the result of a irreconcilable differences between coach and management.
Either way I kind of want to see Singletary get another chance somewhere else just to see what he's capable of.
They've been skapegoating people for years over there. The personnel decisions over the past decade have been among the worst. Not that they've had great coaches, but a guy like Singletary is capable, but can only do so much with a flawed team

In the Finals with Desean Jackson against Michael Vick with the opponent having a 8 point lead. Only feasible way to win is basically if Vick gets injured and then Kolb takes over to throw to Jackson... Or KO/P returns.

Hmmm anyone know how someone in europe can watch te game tonight? I have money on the eagles and would hate to miss it

I'm happy with Jason Garret as the coach of the Cowboys so far.
considering he still has a winning Record so far with taking over the team after a horrid start and Using a backup Quarterback and now has to use a 3rd string QB. loosing all their games by a combined 7 points under garret isnt so bad as i was under Wade phillips. Need a new kicker thou.

atdhe.net will probably have it.

His games played is an unreliable stat. It doesn't account for the amount of times he ran the ball five times and missed the rest of the game, just to come back the next week. He goes out in the 2nd quarter a lot, then comes back to start the next game. He absolutely murdered my first fantasy football season because of this.

Another year, another terrible season for california football teams.
Please raiders......please!

Raiders? They're out of the playoffs already, next week doesn't really matter, other than for pride and a divisional sweep. I think next year they could be really good. With a good QB, they could be great, but Campbell has got to go, imo.

The only time that happened this season is when he broke his hip... and went out and gutted out two or three more plays.
I think once last season when we got Favre'd at the end of the game, he got hurt early. Besides that, there the whole game.
However, due to the excellent Niner playcalling, it's easy to understand since they'll sometimes completely abandon the run and become vintage 80s Niners (without the success part) by attempting to pass every down.
But yeah, the injury prone thing stems from his college career (both knees blown out and various other things), his first season when he missed a few, and having both shoulder labrums repaired following his monster season. Considering that the top runner and usually top receiver on every play, he's pretty durable and plays through a variety of dings during the season

Check again. It's 9 from the bottom. 8 pm ET. (I PM'ed you the direct link.)
And I'm not a hater. I like Frank Gore, and I think he's an excellent HB. I just CLEARLY remember being fucked over by him more than once, and seeing other people get fucked by him going out early more than once over the past few years.
I'm sure some times his non-existence in games is caused by them abandoning the run, too. But then again, when you go down three scores, you don't really have a choice. I hope this team can get their shit figured out though, because I love Patrick Willis.

Pro Bowl rosters are out here. How on earth does Dallas send 5 players while New Orleans and Kansas City only send 3? Cassel should have gone instead of Peyton.
|
Isn't it based on fan voting? Either way, it's absolute BS that Peyton is there.
I can't wait to see James Harrison's domeshot on Vick.
Edit: Megatron and Suuuuuuuh reppin' the Lions. Oh yeah.

Edit: Megatron and Suuuuuuuh reppin' the Lions. Oh yeah. I think only 1/3 of the vote is a fan vote. The fans tried to vote in Bengals OT Andrew Witworth (he led the fan vote), but he didn't get in, so clearly it doesn't entirely come down to a fan popularity contest.
