Does anyone have a server to play on while we wait?
I need to learn more about the game too. My single-player endeavors so far mostly involve me dieing in lava.

Edit: also I often get a glitch where I can see through blocks. I just see straight into the caverns underneath the ground and don't see blocks right next to me.

well i'm playing on this one now. Some other people from the old server also play there

Wooo reading the changes and new things they are adding for 1.9 and the full release. Can't wait to play them. Should revive my interest. Need to find a server to play on though :/

Yeah 1.9 is really really nice more additions to the adventure part, brewing for example is a really cool feature.
I'm playing 1.9 pre release 3 for quite some time now, if you want to test it too, here's a link.

I especially can't wait for enchantments. Can probably do crazy things like make a suit of super running, a suit of super jumping, etc.

Holding off playing until full release so I can experience the awesomeness all at once in it's completed form.

so i recently spent $21 on minecraft, i have to say.. after spending some time in the game then reading the wiki, i cant believe i wasted $21.
there is nothing too this game.. how is this fun... its so redundant and pointless.. what i do.. mine some stuff and build something.. to what end? i dont understand.
im quite frustrated with my purchase. maybe sandbox isn't for me, tt

There are huge multiplayer pvp servers out there. irninja posted a link to a thread for one. A large portion of the game is mining and building to prepare for battles but so is Starcraft if you think about it.

You really should have done more research if you don't like sandbox games, as this is fundamentally its most prized feature. Have you seen the youtube videos, of course you have...everyone has. It is a tool for creativity.

But if you really don't want to simply play in the minecraft world, there are adventure maps which tell stories and have some puzzles, along with a ton of mods, and multiplayer communities that have self-created goals. For example, the faction PvP server that TL has.
You have two choices for enjoying minecraft, make the game yourself, or let someone else make it for you; that's why its so great.

Very impressive work. I wish I had the patience and attention span to actually make something. I've owned Minecraft for like... nearly two years and have yet to really build anything.

What server do people play at? I usually play with friends, but I find it incredibly hard to find a public server that is populated and good. The PvP server is dead, Serai's is down, but anyone have any clue where to look for a good server?
