I don't want autopickup for crafting materials because of inventory issues. It's like autopickup of potions before this patch. It was annoying having to throw them away every so often. I just find, playing RPGs, not just D3 but even the more traditional CRPGs, I'm spending too much time managing inventory instead of killing shit. Well, my day job is as an inventory analyst and let me tell you that work is more fun than managing D3's stash space.

After I hit max level on 1 character, I got bored as fuck. The rift spam for items is the most sleep inducing thing I've ever seen in a video game. That being said, I haven't played in quite a while and was wondering if they have made enough improvements to make the game fun now. I know fun is subjective, but everyone I knew personally who played, and everyone I interacted with online just shit all over it and were very disappointed. So, there must have been a good reason for it if that many people were pissed off. Anyway, worth playing now? no.

I don't understand the appeal of time trial rifts though so I'm not bothered to play S2. Greater Rifts aren't there for items, but for legendary gems and leveling them up, and leveled up gems do quite a lot of work. So you level gems up through the Greater Rifts to be able to get further in normal Rifts. I came back from a pause of 8 months or so, and I actually enjoy it quite a lot. There are few sets that change your class playstyle a lot(WD in my case) and I am constantly switching between WDs. Of course your are going to farm those sets, and I understand that some people are getting bored with it but it is Hack&Slash game, it is repetitive by default. About Season 2, people are playing it because there are new items that you can't get through normal adventure mode and drop rate is increased by 100% afaik.

Even on HC. people who dont have dual screens are doing it wrong. you need another stream or movie playing on the other screen to keep your sanity.

Mainly: what am I supposed to do at 70? Run rifts? Should I clear the rifts completely or just till the boss spawns?

If you're there for blood shards, kill the boss, close the rift and go again. Encountering a Blood Thief goblin is a god send if you're looking for shards as you'll get 200-300 of them. Depending on how many runs you plan to make and how many rift fragments you have, you can choose to clear the entire rift (making the most out of your fragments) or just burn through them for shards and trial stones. If you're looking for legendaries, the regular rift bosses don't really give them that much so I usually prefer to clear the rift. Greater Rift bosses will drop legendaries, but you won't get anything else in the rift. That said, if you don't have any legendary gems yet, run atleast a couple of Greater Rifts, as some gems can make a massive difference.

I guess I'm just mainly looking for legendaries, so atm I'm just clearing rifts so I can get more / better gear.

Should I clear the rifts completely or just till the boss spawns? So i would say: Farm Rifts till you got a decent count of greater Rift stones. This way you will get a decent amount of gems, shards and items so you may start seeing what build you can go and and improve your character to optain higher difficuilties. You will see that reenchanting items and making better gems will be extremly expensive at the beginning, but both make you a lot stronger. So you farm greater rifts till you got legendery gems of all sorts (14 runs I think) and use the money-explosion gem. After this you will have infintie amount of money when farming normal rifts. From this point it is: Farm normal Rifts complete for legends and normal gems (till you got enough ultimate gems) and farm bigger rifts only to improve your legendary gems. Use (after you got alot of money) 3 legendary gems that suit your build most and upgrade em. Dont fight to high level large rifts to early, till you got gems at lvl 15 or so, you can farm the rifts at lvl 15-18 and you gonna farm em pretty fast not waisting alot of time there. Finally it will only be the same: Farm normal rift, scrap not needed legendarys and find better legendarys or acient legendarys. And if you get 2 bored, you can farm the hellfire stuff by farming the keys and making the machines.

Afer that I farmed the Vault to get my Boon of the Hoarder Gem, because I was out of money all the time. Now I run some Normal Rifts until I have my Sets.
