WW actually does the same thing as the legend effect, so the boots are weak on a barb compared to a ice climber (I find my barb weakest against chained ice bombs from elites). You have a good point about the bracers, I will probably gamble that next. It's a shame Cold builds aren't very good on str chars. Regarding the ring, you need a min of 2 pieces for any bonus, so I actually don't need the ring, but definitely need the 2 Blackthorne pieces. | ||

With your amount of crit chance, I'd use WotB Slaughter over Insanity. The 300% proc chance effects the target enemy as well so you'll easily do more damage after a few crits. | ||

Just losing like 30% sheet DPS from that is worse for your survivability than the passive. "Get out of jail free" passives (like this one or unstable anomaly) are generally overvalued on HC, because you typically die only when getting yourself in a horrible position, or due to a disconnect. People run around with so much toughness that getting killed "accidentially" is almost impossible. This way, reviving in the same spot where you died is not as good as you might think. You will still be jailed and cornered, standing in a plagued pool with your survival skills on cooldowns (because if not, how did you even happen to die?). WD is a nice exception to that since his passive breaks CC, makes you immune to damage and ignores monster collision at the same time, but that's the reason he's been the monster of HC before RoS. Also, dunno why they made so many legendaries with movement speed, you get max ms from paragon points, all of those are wasted rolls. | ||

Especially with the passive where you need 4 different elemental damage types to gain a 5% damage boost each and a setup where you use this, Tal Rasha sounds way more awesome. Summon a meteor for every elemental damage type every 8 seconds. So basically every 8 seconds you throw down 4 free meteors for arcane, cold, lightning and fire. Sadly I keep getting trolled by Blackthorne drops. And yesterday I found the same pair of boots within minutes ... again ... At least I do have 1 set piece of Tal Rasha and 1 for Firebird so far (and probably 10+ for Blackthorne). | ||

I was actually thinking about which sets are optimal to combine together with the ring. You can easily combine 2 or 3 sets, if you'd actually manage to get set items for different item slots and depending how far down the set bonuses you want to go. | ||
