Well that didn't last long. Holy crap there are so many selling bots now. I remember it was always a problem but literally got over 50 of them spamming my game in like 10 minutes with hundreds of messages.
So, back to waiting patiently for Diablo 3.

set the level requirement of the game and the bots won't spam you (they are all lvl 1)

I like it but some really aren't looking to be that effective...
Like the bombarding shrapnel arrows just take too long to deal damage with the demon hunter.
2 seconds waiting time till something dies is enough time for your barb buddy to kill everything on the screen imo.
But boy does it look purty.

That's a pretty big assumption about the strength of Barbs, don't you think?  There's several delayed-action effects in the game, and the general rule seems to be that you have to wait, but the payoff is pretty spectacular. One of the Mage spells in the version I played at Blizzcon was to trigger a spell, then about 3 seconds later a big explosion would pretty-much instagib anything in close-range. It was cool, tactical and a lot of fun.

Thought this was as good a place as any since its the reason i started playing again.
When i first started playing a was fairly young so there were a few 'in depth' aspects to an rpg that just went over my head. When i started playing again i was given items by a random character. They are decent and ive heard of duped/hacked items, so im going with the old: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Question being, are hacked items likely, and will i get banned for using them?

People are generally shitheads online, but they can appear to be nice people. When I used to mf-run I'd give all the crappy stuff away to random people, for free.
Crappy stuff in this case was stuff like Oculus and Shako, which are pretty good. It's just that when you get to a certain point these things have no value to you.
I'd bet you got stuff from someone in a position like the one I described above. If you got several highrunes and runewords on ladder, it might be non legit items though 
EDIT: You could even make a game named "GIVE ME FREE STUFF!!11", you'd be surprised how many will actually join and dump their useless stuff in your game.

Would anybody be interested in a team PvP tournament?
I remember back in the day, me and my friends played this thing where teams of 2-4 would start to run act 1 and the moment you hit lvl 9, you have to go back to town and wait. Then, you pool all your stuff together, buy/sell things, strategize, and then meet the other teams to duke it out. I know there was a word for this kind of PvP but I don't remember what it was..
Anyways, I remember it being mad fun. It got to the point where we would try to get as far into act 1 as possible without killing anything so we could get better item drops. Trying to kill countess with 3 of your buddies and everyone at lvl 3-4 with no gear = epic.

Just a quick question, is there a fairly highly populated place to play Diablo II other than on B.net? Its been so long since i've played and have lost my cdkeys, im not a happy chappy =/

I can play Hell Unleashed from start to finish. D2 is little boring because of how ridiculously easy it is, especially with party when you just stream-roll over everything.
