Not sure why Diablo discussion would be limited to only praising the game. Pretty ridiculous and inconsistent notion. The fact of the matter is that no one cares about your opinion.

whining isn't the same thing as discussing valid criticism. You can go look in the Guild Wars 2 Discussion thread, the Dota 2 or Dark Souls (or any other discussed topic or game on TL) and nobody is telling people 'contact arena net/valve/From Software' if you don't like it. Yet they all have people discussing how good, bad or inbetween the games are. It's completely ridiculous and I don't know why D3 has to be treated differently or it's active playerbase is so sensitive. This is the team liquid community discussion thread about Diablo, people can and should discuss anything pertaining to diablo good or bad if done in a way that meets TL posting guidelines. I've already pointed out simply coming in and saying "d3 sux you're idiots" for playing is NOT acceptable, so if that's what you're defining as whining, we agree.

I dont think people have a problem if someone comes in here and leaves some good negative comments. Its the "wow you still play this game it sucks" or "TL2 is so much better play that instead". We play Diablo3 because we do like it

I find it a bit cute how a large fraction of the posts are going on about how bad the game is, and how blizzard keeps dropping the ball, and how bad the loot is, and how the AH ruins the game, and so on. But when this guy comes along and says that we should play another game, then everyone gets defensive.
It reminds me about the Swedish nationalism (I'm swedish), and I think it is shared with many other countries. We will gladly complain about swedens shortcomings between swedes, but if a foreigner comes along and says something bad about sweden, then everyone will be quick to point out all the great things about their country.
In the same way, it is ok to complain about D3 as long as you still play it, or at least have played it and still feel some emotional connection to the game. I don't say it's a bad thing. It is good to be a bit proud about the game you play I guess.
As for constructive critiscism, discuss this: what (if anything) is TL2 doing better than D3, and could it be added to D3?

You must surely see the difference between A) "people are still playing D3? You guys are idiots, LOL" B) "I wish that blizzard implemented something better for the endgame, because right now it's really dull"
I don't mind people writing that they are unhappy, or that they think diablo sucks, but coming into the thread to piss on the parade is something quite different. And telling people they are stupid/moronic because they enjoy something different is just ridiculous.

played a bit of TL2 and it seems the sheer variety of items available gives at least the prima facie impression of a deeper item game.
uniques have a tighter range of rolls in TL2, but there are more of them in a given power level. in d3 there are few kinds of uniques, but wider range of rolls. TL2's approach here is superior

So I was wasting a bit of time the other day and was trying one of the odder achievements, "Naked Lust". After getting close a few times I decided trying to fully unequip all gear when Cydae is at low health takes too long. So I left on only my set gear, which should be good enough to get the damage done to her before I need to unequip. My final attempt, however, was a disaster: while attempting to remove my zuni's boots I saw a pool of spiderlings form underneath me so I vigorously click my lower inventory section so I can begin to flee the area right?
I'm not sure if I pressed "escape" after trying to place my boots in inventory and that is what caused the boots to drop to the ground or if simply being killed while "dragging" any item causes it to drop to the ground but suffice to say I was staring at a death screen with my set boots right next to my corpse. It's a single player game so I choose to respawn and continue back to the scene of the oops and sure enough they are gone, I suppose any boss encounter wipes the area of any items left on the ground if you must reload the encounter(Yea, I was unaware of this possibility).
I reported the "bug" to blizzard and don't really expect to get my item back but I find myself unwilling to buy my second pair of zuni's boots with the 160 mill gold I was saving up to buy a zuni's pox. I just want it to be confirmed by a Blizzard employee that they are forever gone and I will receive no compensation before I go down that route. Beware of this possibility when and if you ever try the "Naked Lust" achievement.

You could always buy the boots now and resell if you happen to get your old ones back, but like you said that probably isn't going to happen.

That really sucks. I've seen other people mention this before on the bnet forums and the response was that boss fights are instanced; which is why they get wiped when you die. I was under the impression this was changed in 1.0.4; but I guess not.
Bad luck man.

Ouch. I know the main complaint is unknowingly equipping a trash item when IDing and then vendoring your good item. I always look at my dps before mass selling a bunch of trash because that value is easy to remember / recognize.

why does no new game convince me :/ D3 lategame is bad, items arent as interesting. GW2 system of characters and items is also worse than in GW1 imo, lategame feels kinda boring as well.
dno if i should even buy TL2 at all or just play D2 again lol^^ €: acutally, titan quest might be an option again - but multiplayer is not existent there...

Diablo 3 is by no means a bad game but everyone and their mother can see the sheer amount of wasted potential. It could have been SO MUCH BETTER with not that large amount of extra effort.
For example, socketing is completely retarded. The only slot you get to choose on SC is helm (magic find vs experience), others are emerald for weapon and mainstat for everything else. Jeweler and blacksmith are broken. The former never did anything worthwhile other than completely trivial gem combining. The latter had his moment but his design basically means that his sole purpose is jump out of nowhere at a certain moment, devalue the shit out of every dropped rare item (I vendor gloves that could be well worth tens of millions at release) and vanish into nothingness once again when he's no longer economical leaving the economy in a stable ruined state.

I was going to post here about how i absolutely love TL2 (few days after launch) but totally forget to do so xD Haven't been log in D3 since that big patch (and didn't login for about 2month before that), tried out abit of my wd/monk, 30mins later back to my menu screen and check on my friendlist, only one online (I traded with that guy once) and all of those who appeared offline has more than 30days offline, turned off game, go dota.
I am sure people have many reasons to keep on playing D3. So what i am going to say is, in my case, D3 hurt me very deeply as a huge diablo fan, but i am fine now because TL2 healed me <3
If you are coming from D1/2 era, and you are looking for real good ARPG that made by a company with hearts (not some failed product solely based on RMAH to attempt to drain money from buyers in long term), go try out TL2. Go read their AMA here and download the demo, give it a try. The graphics from the websites you have seen DID NOT do the justice for the game at all. You have many reasons to not like TL1 (I regret so much that I only got the game 1 year after launch when it was on sales at 5euro), but TL2, TL2 is a goddamn amazing (AMAZING) game and it is the real successor of D2 (TL1 is almost like a beta).
Just like David brevik said, Blizzard almost lost everything in making a good ARPG (like, the whole division of bliz north is gone LOL and you can actually find out why they left Blizzard in that AMA). TL2 is an ARPG made by ARPG experts. D3? I'll let you answer yourselves after you played TL2.

You know what? I actually did exactly what you said and let me ask you simple question. How on earth as a "comming from D1/2 era" guy can you actually play and like this game called Torchlight 2? I'm speachless..

ugh, its like the sc2 idiots who go into the sc:bw forums and tell them to play sc2.

There is a TL2 forum you know? Also if you hate Blizzard so much, what are you doing on a Starcraft site? Terrible troll.

One gripe I have of TL2 is the controls are not as smooth as D3. I didn't feel totally in control of my character unlike what I feel when I play any Blizzard game (for its time of course). I'm sure it's something you get used to if you play the game enough but as someone who wants to play every game at its highest level (coming from a fighting game and BW background) it's difficult for me to invest heavily into a game that I know, game play wise at the most basic level, cannot match D3.
I did have a blast playing co-op with my buddies however =P.

Heya i recently started diablo3, loving it so far - lvl 35 and going fast up . So I am wondering, is there any point in destroying destructibles, or looting coprses, tiles on ground and stuff like that? Sure corpses could give some gold but i feel i could get more gold by just running to the next pack and killing it.

Diablo is pretty much about killing as much stuff as you can as fast as you can.
2 or 3 gold at a time from corpses and stuff really have no consequence in the long run.
