Wait, that 5 hours maintenance Tuesday was not enough?
Blizzard is done for me. I will not buy HotS or Diablo 3 expansions. I will wait at least 1 month to buy any Blizzard game in the future, and only buy them if they release something amazing.
Fun factor of Diablo 3 for me is about 7.5/10. A good game (not great). Fun factor when considering Battle.net is about 2/10.
I was skeptical about Diablo 3 for a long time but bought it anyway because I gave Blizzard credit. At this point though, what can a fan do? The game has been out for over 2 weeks and they still don't have their act together, not even close.
At what point do I stop trying to play a game that honestly isn't worth all the downtime? It's a good game, I would play it a bit more if I could (not obsessively like Diablo 2 but playing it like another decent game) but there is a limit. A game would have to be a 10/10 for me to still be pumped about it after all this shit. Diablo 3 is definitely not that game.

I've been sadly debating for the last couple of days whether to get a refund or not.... on one hand I do enjoy the game when I can play.... but lately it seems like It's down more then its up T.T I'm getting a refund. As much fun as the game is, between the itemization issues, class balance and how little I can actually play SP I refuse to support Blizzard. This is as big of a disaster as TOR release :/

Yeah the only thing blizzard is running on is fan loyalty, any other company would get slaughtered for so many problems.

With the deteriorating quality of Blizzard products since around ~2008, combined with the server issues with this game, I have absolutely zero faith in Blizzard anymore. They churn out nothing more than commercial kitsch. They may be successful as a company monetarily, but like McDonalds compared to fine cuisine, they'll never be known as a quality brand name. On to better developers and purchasing their games -- such as Valve or CD Projekt Red.

Also the maintenance on tuesday was like 10 hours iirc with complete instability for the rest of the evening

This is going to be a recurring issue as long as players can choose what server to log on to. What happens is about half a million europeans come home from school/work, discover to their infinite joy that another encounter with Error 37 is on the menu, and then migrate in a mass exodus to the US servers.
Net result: Both EU and US servers faceplant, endless legions of angry postes rush to the forums to voice their displeasure, and Jay Wilson sits under the desk in his office, hugging himself and popping prozac like it's vitamins. But yeah, expecting a product that you paid for to work the majority of the time is probably not an unreasonable approach.

Well it took them forever to recognize that "Increased Attack Speed by" is bugged and now that a "future patch" will fix this? How did this even get through...Silly Blizzard.
At least now people will believe us when we said that only one of the attack speed stats work (on armor).

Blizzard claims they have "creative control". Sure. But it's blindingly obvious at this point that their Activision overlords refuse to greenlight necessary hiring.
They're working on four games with barely enough resources for two.
For the love of god, it's been nearly two years since they said they'd have paid name changes for SC2, "soon".

2008? You give them too much credit, the last half decent release was WoW: TBC.

I'd love some lawyer player dig up the EULA of D3, see if us player can sue bliz for anything xD
this is really ridiculous.

Yeah, Blizzard has been on a decidedly downward trek since they released WoW. It really isn't the same company anymore. I tend to think that the hemorrhaging of the old school founders/talent combined with merging into Vivendi and then Activision has finally caught up with them.

The funny thing is, when the server is down, i go back to sc2, got owned + offensive GG. so I will probably go play civilization V now.

Did they change the cooldown when you change skills? I just could log in and it takes 1 minute now before I can use the new skill.

Awesome, now it's doing the update infinite loop again when I try to log into EU server.
Even though I just reinstalled yesterday with the EU client.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing The Burning Crusade, and believed it was a quality Blizzard product as much then as I do now. That being said, the recent flurry of server downtime for Diablo 3 is simply unacceptable for a game designer with as much industry clout as Blizzard. I am enjoying my experience with the game this far, but it just boggles my mind how much maintenance is required to even keep this game stable.

It will be fine when the server is stable. I didn't need to re/install anything since launch.
