There's an option to make joining games invite only so people on your friends list don't get to randomly join. Go to the options menu: Social >> "Allow Quickjoin."

I think I just had some of my gear sniped in the AH by 600 dollar auctions when it went down for a while during the last few hours of the pending auction, and they got my good items for basically nothings lol. I kind of disagreed with some of his concepts for stabilising the economy and supporting the item hunt. Not as in, disagreeing that they would be effective, but disagreeing with the methodology. I would advocate preventing monsters/chests from dropping gold. Might sound crazy but if the only way to acquire gold was via selling items found, instead of finding gold directly, then vendors would have to pay better prices for all items, which means that you wouldn't see the AH flooded with "okay" items because it's only worth selling something of reasonable quality. It also inflates the value of crafting mats. I was against the blacksmith eating gems to roll stats idea at first, but I do admit that with no way to destroy gems, eventually you'll have radiant stars coming from every which way. Farm mode is okay, I would prefer an endless cavern with a waypoint every 3-5 levels that just increases in difficulty the deeper you go and has bosses intermittently, but that's me. And I'm not a game designer because I suck at coding and graphics, and I don't have enough money to buy my own studio. To be honest, the "no-AH softcore mode" seems like it would be perfect for hardcore - All i want to do is play hardcore atm (once i finish softcore on my wizard, a3 hell, im guessing it will be a while.) but all i can see myself doing is low-risk runs for money over and over and over untill i can buy gear, it doesnt seem fun at all. Doing risky runs for gear? excellente. EDIT: Pretty much confirmed by some guy above saying everyone farms a treasure goblin. Blizzard really ruined hardcore? >.<
treasure goblin isn't a big deal. goblin is only good enough to get players to complete A1

Finally beaten act 2 in inferno with my monk. Belial was not that easy but I killed on first try though it felt so rewarding. Haven't dare starting act 3 just yet. First enjoy the victory xD

People can still ask to get invited with the same interface as when they invite you to their game, so it's perfect.

I'm stuck at the start of act 2 inferno as a WD, 14k dps with 27k health, armor around 2.5k. I know I'm supposed to head back to the AH but can anyone tell me what stat should I aim for in order to progress further? This way I'll know what to look out for when buying stuff. I know everyone hates the AH, but it's not like the items I get from act1 in inferno are of any good.

Im sure if you posted your char (details) in a screenshot in the WDforums, people will be able to give you pointers.
Got a feeling your going overboard on vit where you could have more int/dmg/ias

Almost done with playing D3. I'm one of two people on my friends list who rolled a melee and stuck with it rather than just rerolling. 4 of my friends, 3 with inferior gear to mine who rolled/rerolled DH are now comfortably farming act 3 inferno. Meanwhile I'm still stuck trying kulle+belial runs just to get crap to sell and afford better gear because apparently, being able to micro your way to victory means you can pretty much ignore a lot of gear checks.

IAS %, Int, Vit and Allres.
Depending on your gold you can push your DPS quickly at ~30k which makes you a little better suited for A2.

I know everyone hates the AH, but it's not like the items I get from act1 in inferno are of any good. Way too low. I currently have 30k dps and 35k hp, with pathetic armor and resists. I'm getting 1-2 shotted by a ton of stuff, but I can still progress at a slow pace. All the high-level WDs agree that glass cannon builds are the way to go. There's some guy running around with 70k dps and not much hp, gets 1-shot by everything if he doesn't kill them fast enough.
Skills: Poison dart splinters, zombie bears (some players even omit this), spirit walk with jaunt (3s is essential), grasp of the dead with unbreakable grasp rune, and two other skills for survival (I picked horrify and fetish army). Most important passive is spirit vessel, pierce the veil for more dps, you might get vision quest for bear spam (I don't like it though).
Items: Go to the AH, search for +15 ias rings and amulets, +17 ias gloves, +12 movespeed boots, the biggest weapon you can afford (1h or 2h, up to you). Stack up intelligence, don't bother with vitality/armor/resistances.

Its shared between party members? Thats weird. Doesnt really make sense since loot is client sided.

The average TLer is quite a bit brighter than the average Blizz forum frequenter and might have figured something out, I thought I'd give it a shot. It's a strange bug that I can't find a solution to, a better one than general chat that is.
And it was phrased just fine. LOL.

When there's 2 million people complaining about auto entering general chat, that's the cookie cutter response you're gonna get. Try asking about elective mode.
