been playing Olaf alot lately, and i just can't seem to build him right, i'm running Arp marks, flat armor seals, flat magic resist glyphs, and i build him mostly with frozen mallet + starks with zerker boots...
but i find the dmg for this build to be lacking until very late in the game when i start to stack some pure dmg items, been experimenting by putting in youmuus ghostblade in there b4 starks and malletas well, but it just made olaf die easier and limit ur E spamming if u don build some hp items first...
still kinda at a lost at how to play him correctly, anyone have any suggestions?

I'll just do a mini guide on how I play Olaf K?
Credentials: I am #1, SpudBoy OP
Attack Speed Reds (While 29 arpen olaf can jungle its just slower and more cumbersome, i recommend aspeed) Attack Speed Quints Dodge or MRes/lvl or Armor Yellows all work fine I use dodge MRes/lvl Blues
Masteries 0/9/21
Skill Order: W - Q - Q - E - E - R then focus R - E - W - Q
Items: The way I build Olaf every game is 2 tank items into some dps. If my team just needs me to be a tank and dont need my dmg that badly I throw in an aegis or frozen heart as third.
Balanced dps on other team: Cloth - Boots - Hog - Banshees - Randuins- Atmas - Starks Order up to u i like banshees before randuins most of the time.
Magic Heavy: Banshees - Mallet - (FoN, Starks, GA its situational)
DPS Heavy: Randuins Mallet Atmas
Reasoning behind mallet is its easier for me to tank when they only have 1 focus of damage. So i can invest in more hp and better chasing instead of more mitigation.
Jungle Route: Wraiths - Wolves - Golem - Twins - Liz - Wraiths - Wolves
General gameplay notes/tips: -When doing golem at level 2 DO NOT USE YOUR W RIGHT AWAY. Just use your q 2-3 times till your pretty low then use W - Q and Smite. Test routes in practice games if you have to it takes a little getting used to using his axe.
-If your not being focused don't blow your ult in teamfights for no reason, every Olaf is see just hits ghost and ult then runs in there and hopes for the best. Save it for when u have their carries attention and their support/casters are trying to cc u.
-Always have your team sit at each buff at beginning of game. If they ward a buff just avoid it, it slows u down but they also invested in a ward that most likely slowed down their own jungle. So just start twin golems - wraiths - wolves and get some good xp right off the bad at take liz instead if they warded your blue.
-DPS Olaf really isnt that great dont bother. Your mid game dps with 5 pts in E is more then enough and then as late game comes around you'll have ur atmas starks type of items to really kick in the damage along side ur E later.
-I can't really think of anything else if you have more specific questions add me or ask me in liquidparty.

How to Play: Tankeon
Items needed:
Start with: Red Pot + 5 HP Pots Masteries: 1/21/8 with points in Smite and Revive Masteries Summoners: Smite/Revive Runes: Armor Penetration, HP, CDR Skill Order: Q/W/Q/E/Q/R/Q/W/Q/W/R/W/W/E/E/R/E/E Item Build: Ninja Tabi/Merc Treads Heart of Gold Heart of Gold Heart of Gold Heart of Gold Heart of Gold
and eventually into: Randuin's Omen Force of Nature Atma's Impaler Wit's End Sunfire Cape
How to play: Start by jungling for a bit. Gank at level 6. Do not use your ult. If you die, revive and ult the location where you died. You will get that kill no matter how brave you need to be.
Go steal red and blue buff from your fellow jungler. Run around like an idiot realizing you can't actually do any damage aside from tossing spears at people. Realize that because of your passive and stacking HoG you don't actually take any physical damage. Chase down their physical DPS. Always. Hit things to keep your passive up as much as possible. Revive and Ult people after team fights. Clean up everything because of imba Pantheon. Get focused every time because you are jumping into them to stun, and also because you're Pantheon and just get focused first. Watch them realize you're not actually taking damage and are not a threat. Watch them realize this too late as you run around stunning people and tossing spears. If you see people at low HP HSS the area in the hopes of being able to KS and therefore steal red/blue buff. Abuse buffs as much as possible by slowing/aegising every 2 seconds. When you die, revive and ult again to finish the job. Wait until team carries you.
God damn I'm so bad such a troll.

I dunno, it's a bit weird how hard it is to get into peoples' heads, but in LoL, at the moment, due to balancing issues, if you take any hero and build tank items on that hero, you instantly become "viable." This is especially for the case of heroes that aren't usually tanks, because they have innate firepower and attractive abilities that make them useful tanks. Tank tanks usually struggle at tanking (oddly enough) because their abilities are too defensive focused to allow them to remain a big threat, hence you tend to straggle a much weirder line between offense and defense with them.

Or if you're alistar you just get gibbed instantly by anything without your ult.
Seriously I feel really pro whenever I pick him and we have a roaming game all about chasing and ganking people in their jungle but the next game I pick mumu or any other tank and always feel astonished by how retardedly easy they are compared to cowman.

I'll go with Janna and Soraka. Maybe spice it up with Fiddlesticks and maybe even a little Ryze. Galio too if you have room.
Out of the ones I mentioned, clearly Ryze benefits from it the most.

I think the server just dropped... I was 59 minutes into the game.

anyways, i've been playing with L0CUST/OddOne's team and i'm beginning to realize how much i suck at this game haha. their level of organization and thought process is really different than anything i've encountered before. it was even intimidating to the point where i wasn't able to play my usual aggro style because i was just thinking so much more than i used to and definitely outside of my comfort zone. T4C's (my WCG team) strategy was just "oh lets play 2 support heroes, 2 ricers, and garen". in comparison, it was nice playing with like 9 wards on the map .

you seemed to have mis-clicked the "E" button when you see the "E" button is available to level, or to cast, press the appropriate button. literally nonstop. there is nothing braver than true damage, especially at Olaf's peak damage efficiency, level 9-11 when you can 3-shot anyone in the game.

Fiddle does have HORRENDOUS ap ratio's. Most of his damage comes just from ranks of his skills, so I stack mpen, then either rylai's or zhonya's or frozen heart. Tanky fiddle with 200 a second hp drain isn't fun.
EDIT: Also laning fiddle is super strong, just as long as you have something thick with you in lane.

It just occurred to me that I have the perfect runeset for jungle Jax... Now if I'd figure out how to circumvent the new CPU lag bug... For some reason the 2 lol clients are linked for me, shutting one down immediatly closes the other one too-.-

EDIT: Also laning fiddle is super strong, just as long as you have something thick with you in lane. He has "HORRENDOUS ap ratios" because his skills aren't "1 hit nukes". His drain is DOT so you actually multiply his AP ratio by times of ticks you usually drain His E bounces so you have to consider this too, if you get +50 dmg and the crow fully bounces to enemy heroes then its +500 dmg on the entire skill and his ult actually has awesome AP ratio
Though AP ratio discussions are kinda bad, because you have to factor CDs as well (and fiddle's skills have quite high CDs), so like skill having 0.5 ratio and 50 mana cost and 4 second cd gives the same DPS as skill that has 1.0 ratio and 100 mana cost & 8 sec cd. Still it is situational because these skills are "the same" if you use both of them everytime it they're off cooldown which may but may not happen, etc etc.
Too many variables to actually judge AP ratios just by saying "he has 0.4 ap ratio so it's bad"
