He's a strong champ but saying that CLG won because they picked Kogmaw is just stupid, dude.

I missed game 1, and while game 2 was close(well, it shouldn't have been, but Epik made some pretty big errors around ~30 mins that let CLG back into it), I felt like it was really dull outside of a few plays(jiji's 1v4 initiation that stopped Epik's momentum, his flank initiation at bot turret that finally got Epik off their side of the map for good, and some of the scramble fights while not pretty from a pro-execution standpoint, are much more exciting from a spectator PoV). One of the reasons I feel LoL is more popular/superior to HoN/DotA(aside from f2p) is the faster gameplay showcased in a typical high level games, not the hour long one we saw tonight with massive pockets of downtime where nothing of note happened(I know that time is important to the players in the game, containing Epik in their base while top and bot creep waves push to get positioning on inhibs is great strategy and play, but it's boring as fuck). I think the 1st game was significantly more fast paced, more teamfighting, more crazy ult combos (mostly by epik) and just all around more contention over dragon/baron/buffs as well as some really ballsy plays by both teams. The second almost felt like they were kinda worn out from the first lol.

Kog isn't OP, but if you don't counter pick him, and the tanks play correctly, you won't catch him and you'll all die.

It's a real bummer, since wcg today showed that LoL on tourney level can be really exciting. let's just hope that at least they will improve the observer function, at least that is realistically doable.

I also noticed neither team made a big move into each others jungles until late game, would have liked to see more buff stealing or something well naturally, it was a finals for a tournament valued at several thousand dollars, not something to be thrown away through reckless mistakes

That's what I was thinking, but I don't think starcraft had the replay functionality at launch either and I'm don't think they remotely had replays in mind when they first launched the game but they managed to squeeze it in there (probably took a shitload of recoding/work though).

They stated pre-season 1 that they will release replays and obs in season 1. Dunno if they changed their mind.

I recall a Riot employee once mentioning that they have a massive quantity of data about LoL games. It's possible they've been logging all game actions, but that there's no way to find specific games, and no client for replaying them. That sounds a little bizarre -- those bits shouldn't be that hard -- but it's not implausible. Still holding out hope for rep files.

Whether or not it will become something like bnet chat channels is something more debatable
