Strength of Spirit: At 333 Mana and 3 points in it, does this improve my natural regen/regen from items by 100%? Does it improve the regen from FoN? Locket? I'm a bit unsure what this mastery really does... At 333 Mana and 3 points the mastery description says "Improves your champion's health regeneration by 1 (= 0.3% * 333)". If it only gives me 1 HP/second or something like then that is kinda lame. Tenacity: Does this also reduce true damage by 4%? Havoc: Does this also increase true damage by 5%?

Different colors and a picture make people think you're a forum god and can't do wrong. Unless you lash out at a forum member or give out bad information... then you will be scorned forever.

so yea, say you're like, annie starting with a mana crystal and head out to lane at level 1 with 500 Mana. You'll get (0.003 * 500) = 1.5 HP/second = 7.5 HP/5 from SoS, which is like a free rejuvination bead, which makes a shockingly big difference, especially vs. harass heavy champs. It also scales upwardly nicely, especially on characters that get tear.

I dunno, the way you write it up there is so confusing O_O. The way they (Riot) write it is also confusing, they don't state if it is regen per second, per 5 seconds, per whatever. It's extremely unclear.

I wouldn't compare LoL or even DotA to professional e-sports in general. Games like Starcraft, CS, and all the fighting games are much better as established e-sports with no immaturity to be found besides trash talking.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing at all. Utah and I never used to take the damn mastery until like, I dunno, 2-3 months ago or so because we thought it was per 5, lol. I just didn't understand how you thought it worked. On August 19 2010 03:01 ghen wrote: I wouldn't compare LoL or even DotA to professional e-sports in general. Smash brothers is also responsible for me ulting onto people's nexuses as we beat them then taunting. We just taunt in that game and it's not considered particularly bm, though I'm sure I've pissed more than a few people off with that stuff in LoL, lol.

Interesting enough, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that most of those games are individual-base as opposed to team-based. Obviously FPS are different, but when it comes to big "E-sport FPS" not in Korea you're really limited to, IMO, CS and console shooters, the latter which I feel are more propped up by sponsors and the MLG(or whatever the name was) circuit. Otherwise I think team games tend to get the shaft because of the volatile nature of team sports in an unregulated setting. Guild Wars is a game I maintain is one of the best competitive team games in the history of video games, but the sheer amount of ego and drama at the top was absolutely disgusting, and that included me. And a lot of that I felt was because there was so much player movement and the creation/disbanding of teams that the scene ended up being a bizarre balance of individual skill (which is already really difficult to measure in a team game) versus teamwork and chemistry, and with people "team-hopping" every other week you end up with a complete and utter mess. It was even worse in GW because the top 30 or so guilds routinely lent players to one another, so the lines between teams became really blurred, and so the same people would dominate tournaments etc., and a lot of players would become really insecure (replaceable players in a battleground of teamwork and meshed rosters = more grasping onto ego etc. etc.) and so on and so forth. This isn't very conducive to getting sponsors interested, because you end up with a whole lot of comparatively immature egos.

the 5% increased damage from the offensive tree is to base damage only, not adjusted damage. the 4% decreased damage applies to all damage taken Phreak said something along those lines relatively recently.
