She breaks all the squishy carries. Basically she's the anti-ezreal.
This is completely spot-on. Akali is the biggest nemesis of Ezreal, Ashe, and squishy casters. With a Rylai-rushing build and her vamp and smoke bomb, she also is surprisingly durable.
Akali explodes single targets really well, but she feels a little out of place in the Tanky metagame. Still can be really good to just pick off an Ezreal/Trist w/e, but when there are farmed Amumus, Garens, Warwicks, Tarics, Sions and Udyrs running all over the place, she feels completely useless.
Well jungle akali going fast rylais completely wrecks early game. But once the 2k hps from Rylais no longer mean you can tank shit you require your team mates to make something out of the early advantage you hopefully got them.

Something like that would be more reasonable.. Of course I never follow even my own advice because the three spells have three completely different uses depending on how the game is progressing. Still ganking? W. Still laning? Q. Rice farming for the win? E Team fights and you want to kill steal? E Team fights and you want to destroy their carry? Flash + Q then WREQEQWEQ lolol (Pretty sure that combo works with the new CDR)
I use a very specialized rune set up for Jungle Akali: I run one flat damage quint, 2 AP Quints, 9 AP Glyphs and 3 AP seals(edit: and 6 flat armor seals but those don't matter either). This way I get both her passives at lvl 1 using a 21/0/9 mastery setup and a dorans blade. For marks I use Armor pen but those don't really matter. Anyway you grab boots and pots on your first trip back, and gank at lvl 4 with fire buff. After that unless oemthing is very gankable just go for lvl 6 before you try again. Your next item should be the belt so you can towerdive happily, from there you go to Rylais and just gank everything. After that you should adapt your build to what they have. prime items being tier2 boots, GRB, Hextech Gunblade, Lichbane/trinity force etc.

I personally think AD has a stronger late game and AP has a stronger early game, so I prefer AD, but they are bot really effective.
I feel that AP makes for a superior tank late game provided the other team doesn't have 500 stuns to throw at you. You can get items such as Lich Bane for damage, Abyssal Scepter for damage and tanking, RoA and a GA as well.
His shield gives you so much EHP every few seconds while putting out damage if desired and presuming you farmed well you have a crap ton of health (I've had over 3k at level 9).

AD gets so much survivability from 100% lifesteal. All you need is like, merc treads and GA and then you just whack them real hard and it gives you all your HP back with every hit.
