I'm not sure I get your point. I'm sure I know about FoN.

g1, lux goes mid, we ask him to go top and babysit jax and let annie have it, he flips out and starts intentionally feeding, jax feeds cuz he's solo 2 vs 1 and annie disconnects. Rammus, jax and I end up having a dance party bot lane while lux abuses us over all-chat. g2, I'm on nasus. My team consists of haunting guise lux, rush frozen mallet shen, doran's ring + swift boots + soulstealer + leviathan vlad, rush phantom dancer yi.

As an aside, what's with all these people I'm seeing rush Phantom Dancer these days? I swear I've seen 1-2 plus some Zeals in every game I've played the last few days.

Thank god she wasn't on my team.

In fact, you the optimal resource investment is to have the same total value in all multiplied stats. I can provide the proof of this if anyone cares (I think I mentioned it a while back while discussing changes in CC/positioning over time in the LoL metagame). Proof please. I always enjoy a good read. As for ZERG_RUSSIAN, I think you missed the entire point of my post. Oh well, subtlety doesn't show itself well over the internet. I was trying to point out that Dodge is equivalent to Armor, in that it is something you seek if you are dealing with a heavy auto-attacking team. You said that Dodge loses to casters. Casters can be handled with MRes. Ergo, FoN exists, ergo dodge isn't garbage USING THE PREMISE OF "Casters are unaffected by your dodge chance." I'll accept the idea that Veil is the best MRes item, but to put FoN 3rd to 6th? I'll have to disagree there. /notimportantsiderant

Say Morde is lvl 8 when he gets his FoN (rushed hard): MR: 76(FoN) 40(base at lvl 8) 10.8 (MR/lvl glyphs) 15 (lvl2 creeping death) = 141MR Shield strength at lvl 8 = 363 363*2.41=874.88 damage blocked by shield at lvl 8. This pretty much negates all damage done by a lvl 8 caster... period. Annie at lvl 8: (RoA + sorc shoes) Lets say 80AP + 28.5MPen - Q lvl 4 = 263 - W lvl 2 = 193 - E lvl 1 - R lvl 1 = 256 = 712 Dmg Shield strength after MPen = 363*2.125=771.375dmg This means that Mord can soak up 60dmg of AoE from the shield + Tibbers and auto attacks before he takes a single point of health damage. Add in the fact that once CDs are used on the caster, Morde can easily regen his shield, and if he has 4s to regen he will get: HP: 1276 (Base hp +lvl8 bonus +Doran's Shield) HP5: 2.37 40HP5 (FoN) 8HP5(Dorans shield) 22.33HP5 (the FoN healing for 0.35% of health/second) 6% Extra HP5 due to mastery (perseverance thx to 9/0/21) Total HP5 = 74.54HP5 Healed During 4s of CD = 59.632HP 59.632*2.125 = 126.7 eHP vs annie. Basically, this means that as long as mord has FoN, and knows how to use his skills to keep his shield at max or close to max, then Mord will take close to 0 dmg from a level 8 annie as long as he has a FoN. - - - - - Shield synergies with MR + Armor, not health ![]() Yes HP is good, but not all the time... I like FoN Fast on Mord vs Casters because: - Shield + MR = Takes no Dmg - FoN = Runs fast, can catch pretty much anyone and people cannot run from Mord, helping to partial solve one of his problems - HP5 means I take no dmg from casting my spells during a fight, so that I can stay in a fight longer (Yes I do get Omen, BV, Sunfires, and Frozen Mallet on Mord when necessary... but i prioratize negatron cloaks and chainmail before any health items such as a giants belt.)

I am in love with that crab-walking, fat, smelly tub o' lard. I am convinced that I'm doing so amazingly well, however, not because I am that awesome, but because people haven't seen Urgot in so long that they have forgotten completely how to play against him. Every single game I enter my teammates say something along the lines of "Oh shit Urgot, gg" Last game I went mid because a Trist didn't want to take it yet still calls me out for picking a 'terrible champ.' Then when I go 10/0 they eat their fucking words. Changing opinions, one game at a time! Edit: Barb your build works quite nicely, I'm still not sold on LW though.

Take Made up Champion X: Champion X's Base starts are: 1000HP 100Armor 100MR This means that Champion X's eHPs are: 1000(HP)*2(Armor) = 2000 eHP vs Physical 1000(HP)*2(MR) = 2000 eHP vs Magic Damage Now, Champion X is at the shop and wants to get some more defensive items. Looking in the shop, Champion X see's three very economical options: 1) Giants Belt for 1110g you get 430hp 2) Chain Mail for 700g you get 45 armor 3) Negatron Cloak for 740g you get 48MR Now, look at the bonuses these give to eHP at this time 1) Giants Belt for 1110g you get 430hp = 43% eHP boost vs all types of Damage (+860HP then modified by armor and MR) 2) Chain Mail for 700g you get 45 armor = 22.5% eHP boost vs physical Damage (+450 eHP vs Physical) 3) Negatron Cloak for 740g you get 48MR = 24% eHP boost vs Magic Damage (+480 eHP vs magic) At this point in time, getting a Giant's Belt is definitly the way to go +43% eHP > 24% > 22.5% So Champion X buys a giant's belt. Let's look at Champion X after a few levels now: 2000(HP)*2(Armor) = 4000 eHP vs Physical 2000(HP)*2(MR) = 4000 eHP vs Magic Damage Now, look at the bonuses these give to eHP with the new stats: (say second time back at shop) 1) Giants Belt for 1110g you get 430hp = 21.5% eHP boost vs all types of Damage (+860 eHP) 2) Chain Mail for 700g you get 45 armor = 22.5% eHP boost vs physical Damage (+900 eHP vs Physical) 3) Negatron Cloak for 740g you get 48MR = 24% eHP boost vs Magic Damage (+960 eHP vs magic) here, you would buy a Chain Mail and a Negatron Cloak to keep you eHP up as high as possible. After this, you return to situation 1, where a boost in HP gives a larger bonus then another boost in armor + mr because the new modifier for armor (would be 2.45 instead of 2) would increase the bonus hp to 1053 eHP vs physical, which is greater than 22.5% of 2000 (or 900 eHP). This goes back and forth as you buy items. Basically the rule of thumb: If HP item*Armor/MR eHP bonus (basically 1% for every armor/mr you have) > 22.5% then get HP If HP item*Armor/MR eHP bonus (basically 1% for every armor/mr you have) < 22.5% then get Armor + MR
