Kassadin syndrome. jiji does Rod/Zhonya's and it works great for him. I've tried CDR builds (that new item, Soul Shroud, Locket, etc) and it felt really underwhelming. In general, even for support champions, I don't like getting purely support items. Rylai's is just for HP/AP. The slow is not as good on Sona mostly because she only has one skill to proc it. Rod imo. I've been swinging around based on team compo etc. but I play her pretty tanky because I... play heroes that way ;x Hence why I've been getting RoA and then a bunch of random tanky shit like Visage and Aegis. I got Shroud twice because I was playing with Amumu and MF and laning with Teemo so I was like lol MM+team CDR goooooooo. Tank h0r. I kite nubs like you! Nah, you are just running from them while they roll over your towers/inhibs and shoot backwards occasionally to try and slow them down. Futile.

Uh, that is how you should build her. QWQWQR. R > Q > W > E
I think you just need to be more careful and not get caught out of position. She's not exactly fast in retreat, even with E on. But once you have Zhonya's, suicide away!

the only success ive had with sona so far is tear/mejai's rush and just run around ganking while you get your tear up, had a couple legendary games last night

I'm not being caught out so to speak, I'm charging in on purpose as per item build, using the E boost (at appropriate level) to close in and start the fight, then poking/baiting. Tanking ftw.

Basically I'm playing her like Taric, except with a massive AoE stun instead of a single-target, and with a big double-target poke/nuke instead of Shatter. Dunno, it's pretty effective in its own right, but I would definitely love to get more AP, especially as AP lets you raze two creep pronto for some better farming. Ponderances.

I'm also intending to run flat armor runes + mrpl glyphs. Yes, like Taric. Yes, Uta is probably nuts.

regardless of the rest of your build, taking a solo (duo without a healer) with only ruby crystal is asking to get owned. Some form of regen/pots is mandatory.
this applies to anyone, not just vlad.

So I made a post in the official forums that basically says "Hey Riot I'm at 575 RP and champs cost 585 RP...what are we gonna do about this?" just expecting to get some laughs out of the community and then I get a response from Riot.
Except they posted the response to a different thread in mine on accident...I got excited...

Malph's shield regens after a while, so that's just as good as normal regen as long as you don't take large amounts of damage at once.

His passive puts up a shield that absorbs 10% of his max HP as long as he doesn't take damage for like 8 seconds, so you can function just fine with Ruby in a lane as long as you take care to avoid damage at periodic intervals.

Yesterday I laned Sona + something vs Malphite + Janna, that Malphite with the double shield was ghey

Don't build attack damage on DPS Sion. He does something like 180 damage at level 18. A B. F. Sword increases his DPS by 28%. Waste of money. A recurve bow increases his ulted DPS by 26% and non-ulted by 40% while being considerably cheaper and building into useful things like Starks and Last Whisper.

I just recently bought Garen and I wanted to ask what type of runes/masteries/items I should get for him.
Currently I'm thinking 9 in offense and 21 in defense for masteries while getting armor pen, armor, and magic resist for runes. Not sure about quintessences though. Also for my item build I start off with boots + 3 health pots and then into boots of swiftness, sunfire cape, guardian angel, FoN as someone reccomended. Any advice?
