Im so amazingly disappointed with this game. I played MVC2 forever and loved every little bit of it... MVC3 is just so different and lame... Thumbs down IMO. I hate that (X) is launch now...
i just bought it but havent played it yet, is it really bad?, because i saw the reviews of it, and it seems not something outstanding, but look ok to me. i am a fan of the street fighter series more, thou i dont play them as much now. MVC2 i liked it, but nothing special to me, just a fun game, i guess my favorite genre is RTS , but still i think if this is the so waited sequel of marvel vs capcom franchise, is it really that bad after 11 years of waiting for the mvc3 fans?.
I think the issue is that it was hyped to a point it could never live up to. Can't speak for the hardcore tournament crowd but for a get drunk and fight your friends on the weekends player it's fucking amazing.
Like someone posted in here earlier its a lot like Sc1 -> Sc2 where there game is plays very similar to its predecessor but many core systems have been changed/made easier/modernized, which has dissapointed/enraged some/many hardcore players.
Now that I'm done abusing '/' ...
I really want to like X-23, I have so much fun poking around with her in training mode, but when I use her in a real match she ends up exploding instantly or zoned out, and I feel like her damage isnt that great for the amount of work I put in with her. I mean I probably just suck but am kinda curious what the general opinion of her was.

when MVC2 first came out people raged about clones and the fact that it wasn't MVC or X-Men vs SF. Dont worry the game is good but people always complain at first.

Good thing that unlike SC2, MVC3 does not use a shittier interface that is Bnet 0.2. Balance is still up the ass, but hey, I'm assuming all mvc fans were expecting that

i think (not know, just a guess)
player a is hosting a ranked match while in training mode player b hits quick match to find a ranked game player c hits quick match to find a ranked game player a and b connect to each other player c trys to join player a's game, but its now gone and gets "failed to join"
or the thing with sf4, where a lot of people just couldnt connect to a lot of people. internet services being shitty or something, but thats more of the "couldnt connect to" kinda message i think
reduce it by hosting games instead, use training mode while you wait too, nothing bad about it
Total newb here, I don't see any option to host ranked games am I missing something?
play training mode or arcade mode after you pick your guys, youll see options for difficulty and time
the last option says "off" by default, but if you change it it says player/ranked match. thats how you do it
so ill set it to ranked, and hit training mode... so i can practice a lil between matches. i get games when i do that very fast though, barely have time to hit the launcher button for the my first combo lol

Couldn't believe just how true this statement is till I tried it myself, went from going 50/50 to a 8game win streak, most being 3-0 kills.
No offense but like, especially online, why WOULDN'T you just throw sentinel in there =\ good assist, good enough speed, hitbox doesn't really matter due to the engine, sick damage sick combos sickest hp.
Well thing is there were only like 5-6 characters of any use in MvC2 but in this game where every character was pretty well in the same area, to have Sentinel sorta stick out like a sore thumb is just annoying

I don't have the game yet but I'm sure sentinel will be extremely annoying. However, a lot of characters in this game can teleport and from what I remember strider in mvc2 actually had a ridiculous 7-3 advantage vs sentinel because he can teleport behind his projectiles and trap him. Don't give up hope yet.
He already had modded xbox360, the extra computers, and the projecter stuff in his spare room. I think the only new stuff are the hori sticks. I think he paid 600? for the projection system or something.

In SF4, they remedied this by putting a DC percentage meter on user's cards.
This is much better than losses/point reductions counted. After all, if you have a 10%+ DC ratio, you're probably a DC'er, or your internet is shitty enough for me not to want to play with you anyways
