Alright, I can confidently say that I am disappointed in this game. Sentinel I can deal with, but X-Factor is the stupidest mechanic ever invented. The overall damage is way too high. Both of these things combine to create games that go from unloseable to unwinnable within 10 seconds. I can't stand how easy it is to come back from being consistently outplayed for 90% of the match.

What would you think about Yipes idea of setting tournament play to "low" damage setting (seemingly about 50% damage)

I think that idea is good, and actually a must. So many characters become GODLY in X-Factor. Seriously how many times are we gonna see "lol oh shit STORM GOTZ FAHV LEVELS ITS TIMEZ TO DO DA CHIP!"

Basically means a solidly played xfactor will get you one 100% instead of 2.5 of them lol. Which would be nice.

So I'm about to win this online match for the first time, and I get all excited and shit and as I jump up the cable on my stick breaks . Stupid 40$ stick I got at gamestop

But all in all I freaking love this game. Even if Mouth Lazor spamming is the only way ill even remotely have a chance.

I believe that it was stated in an interview that high percentage DCers are put in a pool where they can only be matched with other high percentage DCers, and only when their percentage goes down again do they start to play in the regular pool.
I like the idea myself.

About the game in general, I'm not a highly competitive player but I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. Damage does seem pretty ridiculous at times though.

Sentinel has a weird counter-ish issue with Chris. it's really hard for sent to get in and hit chris, and when he does, he has only two possible attacks (barring specials). it's very odd. but besides that sent can fight back when chris isn't prone and firing to counter hits. and then there are rediculous things like chris' flamethrower which is a good WTF GET OUT move vs every character that can't come in from above easily (see half the cast). All and all i feel like there is going to be a chris or sent in every team.

zz every game would time out. Should just be an option to disable X-Factor (or take away the damage boost and leave in movement speed/red health regeneration).

I definitely think stuff just does too much damage in general in this game, and xfactor only compounds that nonsense. It leaves a lot of room for a better player to get random'd out pretty hard. Hasn't happened to me personally much yet, but there have been more than a couple matches where I had to fight uphill for a while to even out the madness.

Assists, for example, take way too much damage. 1 regular, non-xfactor hailstorm can do 90% to an assist, what the fuck is that.

Xfactor being unchippable rubs me the wrong way, too. I don't get that aspect at all.

I don't really think sent is OP at all vs the rest the cast. He just punishes people really easily and powerfully. The sentinel problem will be diminished as people learn this game I think.

My only beef aside from the damage being high is that when you cross someone in the air or they cross under you, your character doesn't turn around. It's not too terrible, I guess, but it leads to these awkward situations where I can only block because I'm lookin the wrong way. It feels like an oddly imposed limit on how you're allowed to attack.

By far my biggest problem so far is that I keep hitting the wrong buttons for stuff with storm & sent out of habit ;_;
If I can't fix that I might become another dante player soon lol

Sentinel doesn't super stand out in my playgroup. I haven't checked the way he's played in CTF yet so I'll have to comment more on that if I head there during Fridays. He's certainly very strong but his prowess is being greatly exaggerated IMO, especially if you're playing against people who aren't familiar with the series. Lots of characters can beam spam like him. He does have good damage/life and decent mobility but his huge size issue still remains. But I could be biased since I was a MvC2 Sent player so I'm a little fond of him =).

Finally after all the hype it felt great to play last night. I played about 40 matches online and they were actually really fun. Surprisingly I did not even see one Sentinel. In probably less than an hour I had all 4 characters unlocked just playing online.

Almost every game had Zero, Dante/Deadpool, and Wesker/X-23. I haven't been attracted to most of the characters in the game so still trying to find my line-up. My line up so far is Dormammu, Trish, and Arthur. Keep away is so fun in this game.

I'm at work so I can't check, is there a way to remap some of the buttons. I have trouble with activating x-factor consistently.
