Yep, it's really sad to see how poor of a game this is. I like the new civic system but the rest of the game has been so dumbed down

I'm glad that the AI is now less braindead, but they really needed to also work on the multiplayer. I thought that PBEM was promised pretty soon after release, and we still haven't seen it.

Me too I might get into this game again if they patch it up nicely. Right now it is too shallow and that's coming from a complete TBS casual.

Did they also fix the policy system? It was fun for 2-3 playthroughs but after that you miss your civic management from C4, which was a ton better.

Is this worth buying? I loved civ 3 and civ 4 so much and enjoy games like galactic civilizations, etc. Is this game worth buying or should i wait til it's like $20?

I really regret buying it. You will probably find more fun out of Civ 4 if you love strategy games.

THe biggest problem of Civ 5 is... What you do in the game doesn't even matter, decisions are not rewarded nor punished. (or too small in impact)

I don't think it warrants its own thread but I'm hoping someone can help me with a civ 5 error. I just installed the game and it loads up fine but there's no text anywhere! I can't navigate the menus without text. Can someone confirm if there is a text folder among the support files? I'm on a 2.4GHz black macbook, 2GB ram with a fresh install of Snow Leopard and all updates (got it just for civ 5 really).

Been looking forward to playing it since xmas.

I'm getting annoyed by these unreasonable peace treaty offers from the Japanese. Yes, I went to war because my Persian and Arab "pals" asked for my help, but geez... they back out so quick. 500 years later, I'm still at war; I've taken only one city (Nagasaki), but otherwise, it's been a stalemate thanks to my awesome Maginot Line (No, you can't go around my defense, haha). Still, the Japanese continue to be a nuisance with their riflemen and cannons. Note: I'm also one era behind so that doesn't help. But the peace treaty offers they put to the table that demands for most of my gold and a ton of resources that I don't have... I would never agree to those terms. I admit I've had enough of this war, but I can't get the AI to accept a peace treaty with equal terms. Any thoughts?
