So if people remember this thread from last year, it appears PC Gamer is doing the same thing again: online votes for the top 100 games of all time. Don't remember how Starcraft did last year, but I'd say we need to put on a show that TL still owns the internet.
It's pretty much the same deal as last time. The URL is the same (http://www.pcgamertop100.com). Registration is the same, with no confirmation required or whatever, and voting is basically the same.
As a side note, I've got to say that the Editorial Top 100 is a pretty dumb list, even by games journalist standards. Never mind top game, Starcraft isn't even the top RTS. 23rd place? Behind Rome: Total War? Genre bias is also pretty obvious when the top 20 has 8 shooters and 8 RPGs (I dunno who came up with these genres, but Counter-Strike Source is very clearly a shooter and NOT an adventure game lol).
My top 10: 1. Starcraft 2. Baldur's Gate II 3. Half-Life (including Counter-Strike) 4. Alpha Centauri 5. Planescape: Torment 6. Civilization II 7. Fallout I/II 8. Deus Ex 9. X-Com UFO Defense 10. Warcraft II

LOL @ CS:S being an adventure game.

as long as WoW isn't #1 i won't care

I like your top 10, great great games, not the kind you throw away after having completed them after8 hours.
|
My votes were:
1. Starcraft 2. Civilization 2 3. Transport Tycoon 4. Grim Fandango 5. The Longest Journey
Note: I don't do shooters. Actually I don't play very much at all, so if you disagree, that might be why.

I don't know if it was last year, but I know Starcraft has done well on this list in the past. It was in the top 10 (along with diablo 1). I don't remember what year this was though.

Impressed they put X-Com (aka UFO: Enemy Unknown) at #11 ;o
My list wasn't super thought through but:
SC UFO: Enemy Uknown Star Control 2 Deus Ex Warcraft 2
I kinda wish I could have voted for some point-n-click adventure game as well, but forgot about it ; [ Like Beneath a Steel Sky or Secret of Monkey Island, or Grim Fandango.
I think more objectively, games like Quake 3 and WC3 should probably be up there somewhere but meh.

Wow, really hard to narrow it down to 5. Would have been much easier to make a top ten.
My votes:
1. Diablo 2 2. Starcraft 3. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 4. Half Life 2 5. Mass Effect
CBNC:
6. Half Life 7. Homeworld 8. Civilization IV 9. Portal 10. Mirror's Edge
Note: I voted SC as #1 and D2 as #2 since the whole point of this was to prove that TL owns the internet o.0, but I gotta admit that I loved D2 just slightly more.
Edit: Wait a minute, Baldur's Gate 2 was on that list? FUCK, missed it. Should've been placed either at #5 or #6 for me.

urgh PC Gamer, I wrote to the UK version in Dec 98 to complain about their review of Broodwar, they published my letter but I never bought the magazine again!

Me:
1. Starcraft 2. Counter Strike 3. Call of Duty 2 4. Counter Strike Source 5. Warcraft III
I voted for the games I enjoyed the most, maybe not the best. Single player games are fun but nothing beats multiplayer imo.

|
1. Starcraft 2. Frontier (Elite 2) 3. Colonization 4. Monkey Island 2 5. Baldur's Gate
There are some newer games that are better, I'm sure, but I enjoyed these a lot when they were new.

In no particular order: Starcraft Diablo 1,2 Baldur's Gate 1,2 Civ 3,4 Deus Ex Fallout 1,2

Here are my 5 biggest time syncs in gaming over past 20 years.
Starcraft World of Warcraft (omg flames) Call of Duty 4 X-Com: UFO Defense Final Fantasy 3

Top Games For Me (current games I am playing)
1. StarCraft 2. Gears of War 3. Resident Evil 5 4. Avatar (the game) 5. dunno
|
1. Serious Sam 2. Fate 3. Halo 4. Oblivion 5. CnC 3
Beat that.
|
commandos 2 Starcraft cnc generals dawn of war sim city 3000
medal of honor: allied assault battlefield 2 age of myrthology UT2004 CoD 1
|
1. Starcraft 2. Star Control II 3. Mechwarrior 4. Half-life 5. Age of Empires II
These really should be broken up by franchise having games like Half-life and half-life 2 competing against each other is pretty ridiculous.
