Q and W are OK. Granted, E sucks balls and 2 OK abilities with 1 fucking terrible mess of an ability does not make for a good character, but if they made E a usable ability, I think Kayle would be pretty goot.

The fix for Kayle is to make her ult self-target-only and then beef up her other abilities. The problem isn't the ult, the problem is that it lets squishibursters go nuts (Twitch, Fiddle, whatever). If it only worked on her, they could rework her to be a pretty good tank without too much trouble.

so you're saying take her from a one trick pony to a zero trick pony? good idea!

I mean, she's not a tank, she's support, she's there to make her teammate's better, if you make her ult only self targetable, you have to redesign everything about her as opposed to addressing the real problem which is that her passive and her E are trainwrecks that don't help her fill her role or do much of anything for that matter.

Hm. I think Riot intended her as tank, not support. Could be wrong, though.

She's listed as a support hero and I've always seen her as one but maybe that's just me and my newbie ways.

I actually really like the IDEA behind Kayle's passive: if I'm the last person alive, you're in trouble.
Unfortunately, to make it work she currently has to build a) like a tank so that she can't simply be focused down, b) like DPS to take advantage of it, c) like support because no one cares about DPS or Tank Kayle.
Let's see, a nuke/slow with good AP scaling, a weak heal and movespeed buff, a... DPS skill that scales weakly with AP?, and a support ability that is extremely useful or pointless depending on team comp.

I would propose increasing the AP scaling on her E (to around 1:1), removing the "on killing an enemy champion" part of her passive, and having her passive buff survivability somewhat. The idea is to build her AP/tanky, so she supports the team, and if she's ignored she turns into a godlike avatar of divine vengeance. (Consider that her passive gives her at most 10% more attackspeed than Tristana if all her allies are dead.)

I think one of my biggest hangups now is that I have absolutely no faith in my teammates. I never expect Shen to shield me, Zilean to save me, Kayle to bubble me, etc. That makes me somewhat overly cautious, and causes me to be surprised (and react poorly) when these things do happen.

TL;DR: low ELO games cause bad habits.

I don't even know how ELO works, I thought you only were assigned one when you played as a team.


It's the standard ELO system (you can wikipedia it), with slight modifications to work for teams. But that's not really the point. "Playing with bad people causes bad habits" would be just as true. It's hard to learn to trust your team when you play with untrustworthy people.
