yea your nasus guide is a bit outdated suffeli
exhaust USED to be a godmode spell
aegis USED to be mandatory
Triforce USED to be decent(now it is actually complete shit on nasus)
===============================
cleanse/ghost
0-21-9 (the last defensive mastery is hella important)
there is a lot of incentive to focus down nasus even though he is a tank as he does his damage overtime. 4% reduced damage from each player, must pick up this mastery.
a little extra mana regen or longer golem is up to you.
Ruby crystal to start, you are one of the most passive heroes in the game because no one can beat your late game. you honestly dont care how well the other team is farming as long as you farming decently, because once laning stage breaks out you are going to get a ton of creeps anyway with maxed SF. i usually go
SS SF SF wither SF ult
SF > wither > SS
build: Ruby crystal ---> HoG sheen merc treads 3 sunfires (replace a sunfire with banshee veil if they have a lot of roots/locks)
why is MR not needed on nasus? MR is a bad stat besides banshee veil. Nukers will often get tons of magic pen anyway to ensure the full damage of their spells, but it cannot ever exceed the damage. so by stacking hp you are combating nukers in the first place.
why is triforce bad? you are spending 2.5k ++ aditional to add a slight increase on your SS, which is not where the majority of your damage will come from. (your ult) it is foolish and i regularly destroy tr-force nasus' as they are so squishy.
no mana regen? grab golem or use mana wisely if you dont have it, not really that hard. if its a very aggressive game I will hold multiple mana pots with me so that i can fight whenever.
any other questions, ask.
4:1 ratio with nasus, Account: inept
P.S. sunfire capes are epic on nasus with their new price, great buy. just gotta keep adjusting your build to stay with the times...

Cleanse is a good choice for ANY melee Champion because they always have to position themselves perfectly for a Stun/CC - no Ability in the Game has a minimum Range, unless you think running towards Taric/Ashe to reduce the stun is a good idea... It´s especially important for Nasus since CC kills his (partly) Lifestealbased Survivability.
|
Cleanse is just really good in general. It's effect will almost always save you from dying at least once a game and it's on a comparably low CD to other summoner skills.

zzzzzzzzzzz gold/second mastery... i'd take the neutral buff extension over it anyday.

I have about 3:2 ratio with Nasus and about 2:1 with Shaco. All pub games btw. I've tried cleanse on Nasus and I don't like it. I'd pick heal / rally over cleanse. Also I'd rather build Ruby into a proper item rather than a HoG. Also I find Dorans shield necessary if you are laning againts ranged champs. I have never really found gold / min items good (except maybe on trynd) Hmmh... I haven't tried Sunfire capes because I've never seen anyone buy them except Amumu. Ppl stack MR so the damage they do is minimal (about 10-20 tick?) or am I missing something(at least there was a thread on solomid about this)? Going deep into the defense tree is good I can agree on that.
Aegis is still worth getting if noone else picks it. It works wonders in early team fights.
I'll update my guide a bit. Thanks for the tips.

what would you guys reccomend for a DPS kayle?
tried all kinds of builds, the one I've been most succesfull with is massive ability power. getting items in this order: chalise of harmony zerker greaves (my attackspeed is soooo slow -.-) mejai's soulstealer zhonya's ring after that the game usually ends, but I never feel like I'm having much of an impact, exept throw mini heals, slow and ofcourse ulti, is that kayle's fate or are there better builds around?

5 guys attack you for 100 damage each 100 - 4% = 96 100 - 4% = 96 100 - 4% = 96 100 - 4% = 96 100 - 4% = 96 We took 480 out of 500 = 96% of the damage = 4% damage reduction, pretty straightforward. 4% damage reduction is a 4% total damage reduction, regardless of how many things are attacking you and how much they're doing.
Don't get me wrong though, still a great mastery. I'm starting to believe that 21 in defensive tree is awesome on just about everyone, especially during laning. I'm guessing your 800 hp Sivir runs 0/21/9 as well, probably with Doran's Shield to just be a glaive-throwing brick during laning.

I run 9-21-0 on pretty much any carry since they dont need mana/CD
but yes sivir is an exception where the penetration from boomerang is pretty pointless, id probably take the neutral buff mastery over it.
contrary to popular belief, the offensive masteries are terrible! the only redeeming quality is improved rally and it is getting nerfed to hell next patch, so i see no reason to go deep into offense really, twitch/ashe being exceptions with their important crit.
also pretty sure the mastery works on creeps as well so you can harass better
|
yea, offensive is pretty worthless beyond the penetration stuff in the 3rd tier. you can get a little mileage out of some of it, but it just doesn't stack up to defensive tree.
the 4% does work on creeps, but it's less of a big deal than hardiness and defensive mastery, which together are just so very powerful in laning (since 4% of a creep's damage is less than 1 unless it's a siege creep, lol). Those together are reducing the damage from all creeps by a flat 4, which adds up so much when you jump behind a creep wave to harass and draw all the agro from them.

I usually still run 21 utility for 15% summoner spell cd
Blood: Kayle is a one-trick pony; she has her ult and nothing else. Ever since they nerfed Twitch so he can't 1v5 anymore, her usefulness has gone steadily downhill. She's now (IMO) outclassed by pretty much every other support hero, as they tend to come with stronger lane control and pushing power. You're still in lower Elos, so you can mass up items, but when you get about 300-400 games under your belt you'll find games ending after farming about 5000 gold worth of items. If you think Kayle is weak with all that stuff, think about how she is with like one.

Utility is good too, it's just that Offensive sucks

Yeah with the Ardor in the defensive tree there's pretty much no reason to ever go 21/x/x. If you run rally improved rally is nice, but the only champ who can really abuse it is warwick and I'd still go 20/0/10 with him for the 2 points in buff mastery.

What runes are people getting for Kennen/Shen? They're quickly becoming two of my favorite heroes (I like pretty much any hero with an energy bar, go figure.)

I'm not sure that's the right setup anyway, but yea, if you're already investing 20, the 21st seems like a gimme to me.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm in love with the defensive tree and I pretty much always skip ardor.

I actually run the same pregame setup for both, which is Magic Pen/Dodge/MRpL/Flat HP, with a 9/21/0 mastery setup. I think flat CD on your Glyphs would be really good on both of them too, and I could see armor pen over magic pen on Shen, but Ki Strike and Vorpal Blade are both Magic Damage so I typically see my magic damage > physical damage with him.

Does Mana Regen per Level do anything for Energy?
|
Magic Resist, not Mana Regen lol. Sorry, I know it's confusing, we just mostly use MR = Magic Resist and Mp5 = Mana Regen per 5. Mana Regen does nothing for energy.

What do you guys think of ardor? It seems be be pretty misplaced in the defensive tree seeing as how it boosts 2 offensive stats. The only champs off the top of my head who benefit from both attack speed and ap are Jax and Corki, but I see a lot of people go 0/21/9 or 9/21/0, so do they just put the talents somewhere else or am I missing something here?
|
Most of the defense masteries are great. Ardor is pretty meh on even Jax, as a late-game Veigar with 1000 AP will only get 20 more AP from it and the attackspeed is 1/5 of what you get from a dagger (worth 410 gold) for 3 mastery points. Combine that with pretty much EVERY OTHER defense mastery being generally useful (with some absolutely amazing ones...)
|
What do you guys put it in? I play Tristana and I usually put 3 points in Ardor while skipping Strength of Spirit and Defensive Mastery. Do you think I should be taking either of those over the 2 points in Ardor? I can't imagine Strength of Spirit being good on Trist, 6 MR won't do ANYTHING against any good caster champ because of runes, and I don't feel like I need Defensive Mastery at all, even though it might help me dive on champs when a creep wave is full.
