They genuinely believe that the PC only had entire 32 man 24/7 boosting servers full of people shooting each other and medics constant healing to boost up that fast. They genuinely believe that it is impossible for someone to get it that fast. I've played BC2 on console, it's like playing CoD with these idiots. No one drops ammo, no one repairs, no one drops med kits, no one spots. That's why the consoles aren't getting it faster, not because of freaking cheats.
To top it all off, all these rant threads are full of kids going "PC GAMERS HAVE NO LIVES, THEY SPEND 3,000$ ON PC'S JUST TO RUN MODERN GAMES. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU SAVE SO MUCH MONEY WHEN NEW CARDS COME OUT EVERY MONTH THAT YOU HAVE TO UPDATE"

After reading about this i went to the EA forum and read the whole thread its funny how just PC gamers gets called hackers, nerds, wow some of you PC nerds have 500 hours of gameplay.. DO SOMETHING BETTER WITH YOUR TIME. holy *... All I gonna say is communication client + team = more points/wins and as for consoles there just butthurt cause they don't have teamwork  . Still trolling it up

FPS players on console are so lol.
And imo there is no teamwork on pubs... just a lot of mindless fragging and fun Not like BC2 has a big competitive (scrimming/matches/etc) scene anyways. For the record I used to play BF2 competitively for a while. But pubbing in BC2 is loads of fun, and I always hated most of the overly competitive community for raging so much lolol
Still need to pick up Vietnam sometime soon, been hearing a lot of people say its good.

I honestly have no idea, but you can get the Garand using Battlefield Heroes. Google it; there's a guide for it.
Just buy Vietnam; it's worth it.

I tried playing bf heros before too and it didnt work.. EA's site is kinda shitty. I dont care all that much about it anyway lol =)

Hm, maybe because it's an expansion it doesn't count as a separate game.
If you add Battlefield Heroes to your EA account, it'll update your veteran status. EA's servers are notorious for being slow, unresponsive, and buggy WRT veteran status, so be patient.

One thing needs to be mentioned right now. EA's servers are once again fucking up majorly. For me and a couple others I've heard from, every time we enter the game and go on a server it fakes a stat reset and stops counting anything but kills, deaths and overall points, at least in the ingame stats.
What's funny is that all the external player stat sites that all draw the raw data from EA's servers all get it right. I'm fairly sure everything I do is recorded, but it's pretty damn annoying that I can't get to see if I'm close to a star on some weapon or whatever.
On the other hand I've been tearing shit up the past several days.

EA isn't exactly known for their ability to make a server work properly. 
I did really well last night. One round I got just over 10k points using the M16. I got one gold star, but the rest of the points were from kills, headshots (I had a lot of those), pins, resupplies, etc. I was quite happy.
I've noticed that if I never look at my score at all and just play I do really well.

The problem are those external sites. (and EA's servers, obviously)
There were major issues with timeouts and server connections after the Vietnam launch; then the major stat sites were contacted by EA and temporarily shut down. Everything went fine then, until the sites were made available again (and are now working overtime) - and now we have server issues once again.
I'd rather have a 100% playable game right now than those external stats, as fun as they may be.

Hmmm ok I have a couple questions about vietnam. I see people using artillery but it doesnt show up in the sniper kit for me.. Im lvl 32 or something and had everything unlocked on normal bfbc2.
Also all my kits get reset every time I quit and rejoin...?
What gives?

If you're frequently switching between vanilla BC2 and Vietnam, the server will have additional issues updating your stats, possibly resulting in what you experience - you'll start with only level 1 weapons / gadgets available or with some equipment missing and randomly dis- an reappearing.
Might be a good idea to stick to one game mode for the time being to avoid this, at least that's what I did and it worked fine so far.

Stats seemed to be working for me earlier today.
For the mortar strike in vietnam, you just have it as a recon as a standard gadget in addition to TNT(C4).

I have the same issue... but I'm never playing vanilla anymore (level 28 if I recall correctly).
Also, obviously I have to start vietnam after starting vanilla first. or is there some other way to do this?

I couldn't figure it out, either. I Googled it to see if it's a glitch or something, and it sounds like recon classes have the mortar equipped by default, but it doesn't show up on the kit loadout screen. I guess you just have to scroll through your weapons to find it.

It is not in the loadout section because you can't change it. Just as you cant change the repair tool as an engineer. It is on slot number 5 if I am not mistaken.

I just got vietnam for my xbox and the game is very different from the ordinary bcbf2. Love it! If anyone else here is on the xbox for either standard bcbf2 or vietnam, do add me! Mic'n with TL guys is too good, cheers <3.
