fun bogut fact: leads the league in non dunk/layup FGA within 10ft, takes 5.9 short shots per game, next highest FGA from that zone is duncan with 3.9. not surprising when you consider how his whole offensive game is based on mini hooks but a cool stat that kinda illuminates how unique his style is

And going back to at least the 80s, the Clippers have had some freaky injuries and some obscene number of blown knees, there's history here not just saying any single year. It's a freaky coincidence but very abnormal.

It's a freaky coincidence but very abnormal. Since I'm not as familiar with the rosters in the 80's, I can't comment directly, except by saying I'm sure knee injuries were as common then as they are now. Also, the late 1980's-early 90's Celtics had much worse luck than the clippers ever did. Again if you switched places Clippers fans would be practicing witchcraft by now. It's not coincidence, it's selective sampling.

This article brings up precisely why I think the people who knock Kobe for not being the best crunch time player (because his % is worse than everyone else's)... Over the past decade he's taken 89 shots, that's 20 more than the 2nd place guy (Vince Carter). I think it's unfair to really classify anyone as a better clutch shooter than Kobe until we can measure them evenly. Let's see what Carmelo's % is when he takes 89 shots. Right now he's only taken 28 (and shooting a really good 46%), but still that's more than 60 less than Kobe. These stats also suggest that Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Chris Paul, and Shawn Marion are all better crunch time players than Kobe. Think this is true? Obviously not O_O! The only one I think who might be comparable is Carmelo (and the stats definitely support that, but again I think his sample size is not big enough to make an accurate judgement). What I think is most interesting is this one: this year Kobe is 7/12. He's hit more game winners in one year than anyone in the last 10 years has done in a single year. Carmelo has 13 in his career, Kobe has 7 this year. Really interesting stuff. + Show Spoiler + KOBE IS #1 BITCHES
