About battlemages, actually from a very trusted source, they have actually been getting nerfed at every update of the game, yet they are still top tier now. So honestly it's a matter of execution and how players play. However the level differences do matter in terms of how much access you have to your full potential (really specific based on what class you play, some are way better early/mid lvls). To add to this, we aren't playing nerfed battle-mage versions yet. armed_: Battle mage is god tier, that doesn't mean banned (MvC2 god tier comes to mind). The top tier is elementalist, blade master, berserker, ranger, mechanic, monk, physical exorcist (though in NA version priest subs aren't great just yet), grappler, striker, brawler in no particular order. Nen/Launcher/Summoner/Crusader bottom, everybody else mid. Could probably stick the non-Crusader priest subs in mid for now. Battle Mage has too many tools and they do silly damage for how free some of it is. Meanwhile, gunners have... "one of the best close range pokes in the game" (OF ALL TIME?!) that is a stationary spin that is primarily a panic button, and only rangers get any real damage/combo opportunity out of it. Sure, it's a good move, but in a game where we have moves like Weapon Uppercut, Spire, Ice Wall, Triple Slash, etc... dunno why there's so much rage over it. Also if you seriously think a lvl14 beating a lvl30 isn't possible unless the lvl30 is incompetent, you don't really get this game. lvl30 might be where a lot of classes start getting their core skills to differentiate themselves from other classes, but a lot of the moves you'd use a lot in PvP are cross-class skills anyhow. Slayers get a lot of use out of upper slash, gore cross, triple slash, ashe fork, and wave wheel sword regardless of their level or sub; those are all skills you can acquire pre-15. With the way stats/damage/HP are raised through the roof for PvP, it's hardly impossible for a lvl14 to beat whatever; they have most of the necessary tools already. Once you hit 15 you have a lot of your key PvP skills for most classes. Like, what is a blade master going to acquire at lvl30 over a lvl15 slayer that is going to change the matchup dramatically? Draw Sword for a wide range zoning move, and...? Overdrive just means more damage, you still have to land those hits. Counterattack isn't going to do much since when is a slayer going to get back-attacked by a gunner. Backstep Cutter just gives you a fancier combo or some pseudo-zoning poke. There's a clear growth in strength for all the subs at around lvl30, but that doesn't mean first jobs can't win or don't have the tools for it.

I think a lot of my suckage is just due to the fact that I'm not really use to the controls, but I also have no idea what skills I should be getting and what combo's I should be using.. Anyone have any tips for a lvl 15 Fighter soon to be Nen Master?

A Nen Master's specialty lies in their abundance of magic-based skills. Because most Nen Master skills have a cast time, there are some players that learn "Indomitable Will" to counter projectile cancels. You base your defense around cloth equipment, but if you keep the Helical Nen skill, then you're able to raise your defense. * Especially if you cast several high-level Helix Nen,s you're able to reach heavy~light class defense. * On the other hand, if they're not up, your defense goes down, so if you switch into melee route you'll have to keep paying attention to it and account for casting. Because your support skills only affect single targets, you'll have to think hard about how to use them. * 例えば支援に徹するなら、蓄念砲・練気・雷鳴を主力に、クールタイム中は味方に支援を掛けて回るなど * For example, if you're going to devote yourself to support, then you could rely on Chakra Cannon / Frozen Will / Thunder as your primary mode of offense, and go into support mode during the cooldown times. The class has good base MP recovery, so it's difficult to run out of MP. This is particularly the case if you load up on MP recovery equipment. The electrical shock from Chakra Cannon (the skill that maxes out at level 1 and adds like 50% chance of adding shock damage to the hadouken) is a high-percentage and high-damage skill you learn from even before class change, so it's a crucial source of damage. Keep spamming it. Thunder is useful, but it lowers your attack speed, so be wary of using it against enemies with high hit recovery. Is the translation of the character introduction on the Japanese wiki... as for skills I'd normally ask PvMonsters or PvP, but Nen stinks at PvP. If you're gonna go that route, I'd suggest re-thinking what class you pick (your SP gets refunded at class change so it's not too late). Otherwise, it really boils down to reading the skill descriptions and deciding which way you want to go, I guess... Edit: I just realized "Thunder" is the level 40 support skill. Thunder: the Nen Beast of Fierce Light. No clue what it's called in English.

Which of the other fighter classes is best for PvP??? And do I get a skill reset at any time?

Anyone have any tips for a lvl 15 Fighter soon to be Nen Master? You're going to have a tough time until about level 30, being most of the NM's good skills aren't available until much later levels (unlike the other fighter classes, where most skills have no level requirement). I wanted to save my SP's for later, but it was just too tough relying on Nen shots and lvl 1 starter strikes(Muse, etc.) So, i put 5 into uppercut to get the cancel (good for ending combos and launching), and reluctantly put points in thunder suplex so I could actually kill a King boss in under 20 minutes. Wasn't the build I planned for, but is making the trip from 20-30 a tad more bearable. (get doppleganger to lvl 9, and cancel backstep btw..could also lvl air walk to lvl 5 if you plan on getting tornado kick).

Guh, I think Death Powder's bugged, either that or it got buffed like hell, but I don't think it's changed. I should be getting +1 second for each Pluto Friendship (Level 6 now = +6 seconds?) and then +0.5 seconds per level of Death Powder (level 6) Starting from 22. So I should have 31 seconds... but I've got like 25... which means Pluto isn't kicking in... Or, it just doesn't update it on the skill. Hmm... It IS affected; my Death Powder's 31 seconds. Iiiiiiiiiiinteresting, that means my 9 seconds of frantic escape simply seems like millions of years.

Every single class exept maybe elementalist and summoner should get their basic launcher to lvl 5 and get cancel. There are many skills are are essential to any subclass (either 1 point or enough for cancel). For fighters, everyone needs at least lvl 1 tornado kick so do get the requirements for that. Im pretty sure all fighters use suplex cancel, but i could be wrong. There is that one throw move that you pick people up from the ground and shoot them away with some force attack. I think thats a common skill and its an important one. Also you obviously need low kick and hammer kick. Later on nen masters will use that lightning buff attack that makes dragons out of ur fist. Also they can abuse forcefield and shoot taht remote control dragon.

the GBL Arad Branch boss seems to be hard or easy depending on a group's class makeup. if there are classes that are very good at juggling, then boss is easy. if not, then it can be pretty hard if the group does a bad job of focusing on the boss. then again, it seems the most dangerous attack comes from the frost summons, so I might start putting out a disclaimer to kill the frost summon if it's up (then again, the only quest remaining for that dungeon is to kill Isadora 1 more time which I haven't received credit for in the last two kills) the GBL lab boss is easy when he's big and annoying as hell when he's small. the only thing really to watch out for is when he goes up and starts raining down tentacles, but that's really just a matter of being around the boss to see him go up and be ready to start moving. his spin attack is really easy to avoid and the only other real annoying mob in there is the small green octopus. wish I knew the mechanic for what causes him to turn small and what causes him to turn big. I think damage might have something to do with it since I've seen him in the process of transitioning from small to big only to go back to small since someone hit him before he reached his full big size. the GBL Hatch isn't too hard other than a fight of attrition since you have to go through 3 mob waves and a priest summon. the mob waves aren't too hard to deal with, but definitely have to keep watch of where the priest is located. I think the group should either focus on the priest when he's up or the party member that the priest is targeting should just run around on one side of the room while everybody else fights the boss on the other side of the room.

Then again, that's probably because battlemage has absurd melee range, so I can just spam attack x3 to chaser and not get hit. I probably won't have such an easy time on my other characters. Silver Night isn't too bad but some stuff there inevitably ends up hitting me and the boss is very annoying if not actually that difficult. Unfortunately for me I've kind of hit a wall with leveling. Played my BM tons this past week and now got to level 31, but I'm losing interest in grindan for a little bit, especially since Behemoth dungeons are long so I either just do boring-but-effective attack x3 to chaser spam or I do fun stuff and have no MP after 5 rooms. Of course, my other characters are all level 23 or 22 so I have no quests for them either, joy. On the other hand my college decided to stop making my internet suck so I can actually party and pvp without massive lag now. I'm liking my Soul Bender more and more every time I use him though.

They're only a problem if they have the hit recovery reinforcement and only sometimes then. If you see an alex superarmor you have time to backstep and dodge the spit (though it hits me sometimes). If you try to get fancy with them they might hit you. Sadly the best way I've found is to just spam attack x3 to chaser (boring) because if you get closer you might get caught (though phase shift at least limits the damage). Wisps hit me sometimes when they warp behind me, that's part of why Silver Night isn't fall-asleep easy like the rest of Behemoth so far.

According to the Japanese wiki it's random, and there're four patterns of how it changes its shape (if you can grab for interrupt). * Big -> Small Seems to happen the most often. Attack speed and movement speed rises. * Small -> Big Doesn't seem to happen very often. There're almost no pros for hydracle in going this direction; the best you can do is say its reach gets better. * Small -> Small This could be seen from when GBL Lab was first placed into the game, so it's most likely not a bug. You can see it happening when hydracle becomes large for an instant, before shrinking again. Interrupting when it becomes large won't force it into a larger size. And this action causes yet another attack speed and movement buff. * Small -> Small -> Big It looks like the motion for Small -> Small, but then it keeps going and performs the Small -> Big motion. It's not known if it's a bug or deliberate, but it's accepted as "another pattern for becoming big again." Especially when I use Rain/Magma because I think the trigger for teleporting is when you hit them with a magic attack. And Rain/Magma count as magic attacks. So those damn wisps just starting teleporting everywhere it's nuts.
