'Dennis Schneider aka 'HasuObs' is Protoss player from Germany representing team Mousesports. Coming from a Warcraft 3 background, HasuObs has had a lot of success since the start of the beta. He has placed top three in numerous tournaments including multiple Close Combat cups and Cyborg Cups. His most recent accomplishments are qualifying for the Intel Extreme Masters by winning first in the qualifiers, and winning the TeamSpeak TL Open to qualify for the TSL 3.
HasuObs bases much of his strategy around his superior unit control. Forcing battles once mid game hits, HasuObs' makes his units extremely cost efficient in fights. Maintaining his aggression and perpetuating fights, HasuObs generally chooses to create units in order to instigate battle after battle. This type of style makes macro play extremely hard as HasuObs forces his opponent to reply in kind or lose.'
I already thought about myself to open a HasuObs Fanclub, so I am happy that someone else opened one. He definitely deserve a own Fanclub with his recent achievements. GERMANY FIGHTING!
finally a hasuobs fanclub has taken a long time to setup a fanclub for the awesomest protoss ever nice job arctics loved your cheerfuls as well hope so much that he makes tsl finals would be so awesome and nobody would underestimate him anymore sign me up ofc
One of the nicest an well mannered guys in the community. I'm so happy he has this international success at the moment. Sign me up and great effort with the fanclub!
Omg, there was no fanclub of Hasu's yet? T_T Please, do sign me up! I totally love this guy- so sad I just lack 100% of his unit-controll to be anywhere close to being able to play like him.
solid protoss player who loves his ht. even with new zerg tactics like mass zerglings baneling drops he still defends with awesome reaction and wins sign me up!
pls add me.i am a fan since the epic game vs TLO on metalopolis where a mothership defendet one gasgeyser as the last remaining building from toss. hasu won that btw. i think it was in the beta yet.
WCG: As deep-rooted WC3 player: Do you think WC3 should be present on WCG together with SC2? HasuObs: Well, SC2 came like a bombshell into eSports, but WC3 fan community is still large. I could imagine both games beeing spectator magnets. Sadly, Europe would be very poorly staffed, since almost all good players switched to SC2.
WCG: If both titles would be played in which one would you compete, and why? HasuObs: Definitly SC2. For me personally, WC3 is a closed chapter, I don't plan on playing WC3 competetively again. I had my culmination when I won my last EPS finals, now I completely focus on SC2.
WCG: What did make you moving on to Blizzard's new game? Did you ever think of giving up on eSports completely? HasuObs: Hm, the last two, perhaps three, years of WC3 weren't that motivating to me. There were no new patches, and the strategies as well as the maps were stale to the last. Only the competition and great offline tournaments kept me in WC3. When then the number of tournaments quickly dwindled, I knew it was time to switch. With the end of WC3 I had that thought of quiting eSports, but fortunatelly SC2 soon casted it's spell over me. Fortunately I am not that bad now, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Further, there aremany offline events already, and due to the switch of games there are many new players to get to know!
WCG: Soon, the qualifications of WCG 2011 will start. Sweden and Australia will break the first ground. With names like Jinro, Sjow and Thorzain in Sweden and Moonglade in Australia, who do you think will force through? HasuObs: Well, obviously I hope that Thorzain will prevail. After all he now belongs to Mousesports. He's also in TSL3 final and would definitly make a great representative for Sweden. In Australia Moonglade should be the biggest favorite.
WCG: How do you estimate your German rivalry on your way to the grand finals? HasuObs: Germany's representation in SC2 is very strong, especially Socke and Goody are often competing for top ranks internationally. Also XlorD, TLO, Mondragon, Darkforce and some I forgot now will muscle in.
WCG: Given you win the qualifier and qualify for South Korea, what would be your goal? HasuObs: In WC3, the goal always was to get through group stage. This is the minimum goal for SC2, too. But I believe that we Germans can reach a top 8 or even better placement in SC2. Naturally, a little luck belongs to it, but it should be possible.
WCG: What countries do you see the most and as the strongest competitors? Do you have a Top 3? HasuObs: Hm, I think that Sweden, Korea, Ukraine and Germany are pretty strong right now.
WCG: You are competitively viable since begin of beta, but your final breakthrough in SC2 seems to have been your victory against Dario"TLO"Wünsch on this years Cebit. Now, after a 3:0 victory against the ultimate Starcraft iconic figure, Lim 'BoxeR' Yo Hwan, you made it into TSL3 semi finals. How did you experience the last weeks and months? HasuObs: Of course I am happy about my good start into SC2. There were some problems right after the switch, but by now I have arrived in SC2 and like to compete with internationally competive players. I will compete in many offline tournaments in the future, and I hope that we (Mouz) will finally be able to win a team event.
WCG: Of the German WC3 players, you seem to be able to deal best with the new RTS. What do you think is the reason for that? Do you think, that your WC3 career influences your SC2 playstyle? Was it hard for you to switch? HasuObs: Hm, most hesitated when SC2 was coming, and were very sceptical. But I was very glad that there finally was a new Blizzard RTS. Many of the former WC3 players are inactive now, and those who are still at it are doing pretty well. I gave it all right off the bat in SC2 to really understand the Game, maybe that's the reason why my switch went so well.
WCG: How do you value the developement of SC2? HasuObs: Very positive. Many tournaments, many streams, much price money, many new faces. That's exactly what eSports needs, and since Blizzard is behind SC2, I'm very certain that we will have many more years of fun with SC2!
WCG: What are your goals for 2011? Is there anything you absolutely want to win or participate? HasuObs: Well, now I have three very important games ahead, which are TSL3 Quarter Final [seems the interview is a little older, but he can still make it to rank 3!], EPS semi finals and ESL League finals. I want to make it to the winner's podium in all three, that's my highest priority for now. Otherwise, I obviously aim for WCG qualifikation. Representing Germany in Korea in the first WCG including SC2, who wouldn't dream of that?
Hasu is a great makro toss too. last replay i watched was against dimaga on metalopolis and look at this screenshot spended ressources hasu / dimaga: 66k / 48k. also the recently matches against xlord (EPS) and lalush (esl cup) were all epic. against lalush on shattered-temple, hasu had 24 wapgates, lol, and lalush quits with:"go ~/%='# yourself" lol
that´s what i´m talking about! hasu is able to pick up any player if he is in best shape... nasl playoffs, who is Ace? some korean nub muhahah :D TSL 4th place should indicate enough
I was suprised on how good he was at play-by-play commentating (not to mention his pro insight thoughts obviously), such a fluent english and only a small german accent (which I don't like usually but it's not the case this time) makes listening to him very enjoyable. If he was to become a commentator today he would be in top5 in the world for sure.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit but he's really really good.
I dont think this guy gets enough credit. He's probably my favorite euro Protoss. Everytime I've seen him play its been pretty solid. He might not always win but he definitely looks like he has his shit together. Sign me up!
HasuObs has been my fav player since just after sc2 was released. There was that epic game on Metalopolis with TLO where he trounced TLO's ghost play with his HTs and then went fugging Carriers to combat Bcs. Sign me up for life. HasuObs fighting.
Hasu defeating Stephano 3-1 in a such impressive way ! I'm amazed, such a strong play, no errors, perfct micro, good choices, he's definitly one of the greats ! add me plz

When this is bumped already Sign me up! Also germans shouldnt miss the sc2pro.de cast of his "ligapokal" game against Knowme which is, among others, casted by both, KnowMe and Hasu (German youtube cast)
Smart-Toss. HasuObs hasn't got worse PvP than Huk and HerO. We'll see how the games go, but it would certainly be no surprise to see the TSL3 fourth place Owner in the semi finals.
I just watched the interview and it was really good. It's a shame he isn't a more prominent figure, though I guess that can be said for all of Mouz, which he touches on a bit. At least we get to see him cast at Homestory cup again. :D Can't wait for that... he was the best player caster imo.
And just in case Hasu reads this... cast with Rotterdam again!
Tough matches today T.T. Looking forward to seeing you at more tournaments in 2012. You are an amazing player-caster; one of my favorites! I hope that you get to cast more at HSC IV!

Yup, I have to agree. He was my favorite player caster from HSC 3 and I'd say he still is. He does great with Socke, and iNcontroL being added as well made it even better. Very nice job.
Damn Hasu, that was one sexy second game against Nerchio in the Playhem EU. I haven´t seen good carrier play in a long time. I´m also glad, that you seem to do better against Zerg already (beating Delphi, Naugrim and Nerchio in a row is no easy feat), I hope you take the final as well.

Indeed, his PvZ looking really strong at least from todays Playhem
Hey wowowowowowowowowow what a game in the IPL tonight an hour and a half in blizzard minutes wow definitely one of the top PvZ games I have ever seen, and vs. a Korean no less. Outstanding play you have put an end to the "there is no way to beat the late game brood/festor/ruptor" qqing from us Toss. All you need is to be playing on Terminus and play for an hour and a half and starve the Zerg out lolololol what a great game and if anyone knows where to get the replay please post it. <3 HasuObs
so clucth vs Jookto! Those carriers and mother ship were going to get crushed until he recalled back the VR and stalkers. Great killing tactic at the end of a 1 hour 25 minute game!
ahahaha i just saw you laddering vs Kas (i guess it was ladder) making him rage lol. complaining HTs were a joke unit. GJ Hasu! so entertaining to watch your games.
How am I not signed up for my favorite Toss player?
Keep going Dennis, even though I'm Zerg, it's always inspiring to see you playing! Has been a great experience to meet you personally at the GI XMG Invitational, hope I'll see you again soon!
Just wanted to add my voice to the compliments for Hasu here. He's starting to become one of my favourite casters! Which is pretty cool because he's already one of my favourite players to watch as well! Go Hasu!
Thanks for streaming yesterday! Fell asleep watching but enjoyed every second until I did! That's what I get for watching streams in my bed Also nicely done vs Thorzain!
Hasu got second place at EPS Germany and just won the first EPS Open in Berlin. He deafeated Slivko 3-1 in the finals, showing really strong pvz (finally :D). Congratulations Dennis!!!
oh man I was so happy to have hasu in top 5 tlpd ranking and now he is out already? so sad but he's gonna fight his way back GOGO hasu
I mean it's not like tlpd is actually a good ranking whatsoever (just look at sen's and teaeja's positions throughout the last months/years and you will see that taeja whose biggest gsl achievement is ro8 and sen who hasn't attended a bit international tournament since like forever are pretty good examples of how far off this really is) but hey it was still cool to see hasu in the top 5
hasu wtf... you just have to a-move... PLEASE do it and DONT wait too long like on map 1. but hey... we all know that he will wait too long until grubby is on 200/200 again. its his trademark -.-
I'm fucking impressed, i would have never bet for you in first place :o I'm so happy i was wrong, i saw amazingly beautiful starcraft 2 games tonight. I noticed you were getting in shape from previous tournaments but i thought mvp, and i must admit grubby because i fucking love him, would have the higher chances at finishing first. I wouldn't have bet on second place because i had now idea who else to chose to take the spot. And there you take first place, i'm fucking impressed now.
woOt Hasu!! Gratulations, very unexpected, had to leave at 0-1 vs. Grubby, so happy now Hope I can see it anywhere soon. Good luck in the future and keep on going!
Happy Birthday Hasu! It's a pity this fanclub isn't very active for one of the few players who have remained competitively relevant throughout the lifespan of SC2. Hope you're as happy as I am with mouz's position in ATC :D
