South Africa representing ![]() I am planning on updating it soon, although i've noticed Tyler has switched to 1 gate openings recently, i am still using mostly two gate openings except when i see them go hatch first. I am going to completely revamp the guide, and be much more thorough. Also, if there are any master level zergs about who i could play loads of games against in order to test against different all ins/openings then that would be awesome. EDIT: If people do decide that they want me to run the fanclub, (and i still think others should put there name forward) how do we go about doing that?

I've also started doing 1 gate openings and with relatively great success. I push out more or less at the same time as I did ala your old strat guide (before stargate) with a 5 sentry 3 zealot army, but with a msc and +1 finishing just after i would attack the 3rd. I can send you a couple of the replays if you'd like (disclaimer: I've just started so they're not perfect ![]() BTW I remember playing you on ladder in WOL once. You went dt expand and I only made 1 observer and lost my probes ![]() On the Fanclub topic: Maybe PM'ing Seeker would be the best idea. It seems he's in charge of keeping track of the Fanclubs. According to this thread, whoever's going to be in charge will need to start a new thread for the Club tho. edit: I guess we should PM the OP Barkles first, but he hasn't been too active lately it seems (last post was in July last year). He can either update the fanclub, or give us the thread's "HTML" code or something I suppose. another edit: It seems like the mods can change the author of the post (sorry I didn't read the whole thread; assumed Chill's answer was law)

I was getting my account back up to mid-masters as quickly as i could after lending it to my friend for a few days. I ended up talking strategy more than initially intended, so i'll spoiler it: + Show Spoiler + The way i have adapted to hots is to push with 5 zealots and 2 sentries and an MSC with 100 energy for recall if necessary, by starting the 3rd zealot on the second gate with the first 100 minerals after the nexus, instead of getting another sentry, as that 100 gas went on the MSC. It requires and extra chrono on the gateway in order that the zealot times well with warp gate, to warp in another two zealots and push. I have also started bringing a probe with me and starting a proxy pylon after i have enough minerals after finishing my wall at the natural, and then cancelling it at ~99%. This means they can't just see that the push has no probe and assume there will be no commitment. Next 350 gas goes to 2 more sentries at home (to make 3), stargate. 5 phoenixes and a forge & robo off 4 gas. add second forge and twilight once +1 armour is half done. Push again while taking 3rd. All this will go in the new guide in a more easy to read form, with pictures for each stage of the build to help with people who remember better with visual memory like me. EDIT: I've PMed Barkles.

No worries man; all is fair in love and war. Besides it was more my mistake than yours. Cool about the strat guide. As for the fanclub, like you said, we should probably wait this one out till Barkles PM's back or when we've given some time for more candidates for the OP throne ![]() Also: it seems like I made a mistake with my previous reply: the mods can change the author of a thread.

With the exception of a possible MLG Anaheim qualifier (MLG has been quiet about the details of this event -- don't know if there will be any open qualifier), it looks like I'll be having a few quiet months as far as competition goes. I'm gonna use this time to work on improving my stream and solidifying a practice schedule. May 7 stream schedule (PDT): 8:30am-11:30am. 2:30pm-5:30pm. I'm gonna try that out for weekdays and see how I like it. VODs will be available for viewers who can't watch live. Weekend schedule undecided. About my series against JD: Thanks for the support. My approach to it was reminiscent of my peak in SC:BW. I had specific builds prepared and, at the time of the match, I had a competitive and focused mind, not burdened by anxiety and nerves. I think my builds would have worked much better with better execution. Unfortunately, after my late night attempt to qualify for WCS NA on April 30, I stopped practicing. I felt like I deserved a little break, and then the break turned into paralyzing anxiety about the WCS qualifier, just like a student putting off writing a paper or studying for an exam. Of course I wasn't actually incapable of practicing and preparing properly; I was just discouraged by my feelings. So I'm still working on overcoming those mental problems. I can be doing everything right and everything can be going well, and then I suddenly have extreme feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, apathy, etc. Then I play a game or two anyway and they don't go well and then I really feel a thousand miles away from getting any productive practice done. And if I'm streaming that, then I'm definitely not providing a pleasant atmosphere for my viewers to enjoy the games. So I'm still figuring out a routine to minimize the damage that such episodes cause. If it happens within my stream schedule, then I will mute my mic and not type anything but gl and gg, so at least the stream gets a neutral experience. If I'm playing horribly, then so be it. Taking breaks makes me more likely to take more breaks and constantly getting rusty has become a bigger problem than enduring painful practice sessions.

Taking breaks makes me more likely to take more breaks and constantly getting rusty has become a bigger problem than enduring painful practice sessions. I'm having a really hard time practicing at the momnet as well, it must be so demoralising being a professional who needs to be working so hard at the game, and yet having to deal with so many emotional problems. My life sort of fell apart recently, with personal/friendship/relationship problems all happening at once, as well as my end of year university exams/deadlines, and so although i would love to just relax and play some starcraft, i know i am playing 100 times worse due to stress and anger. It is really weird for me, because SC2 has always been something that sat outside of my 'normal' life, that let me relax and take the feelings away, while i worked at getting better, but it isn't working anymore. Tyler, i really think you should consider letting some fans who are good at this kind of stuff work on your website for you, and keep coming back for positive responses. The fact is your fans support you because of who you are, on top of the fact that you play great starcraft, on top of the fact that you have really cool styles. You won't lose these kind of fans easily, we have some small understanding of your situation, and will forgive you for bursts of frustration/bad play. I wasn't able to watch the JD series live, but i was updating the live report thread over and over again on my phone, and went back and watched the vods, pity about not winning the series, but it sounds like if you'd been in a good mental place you could have won that.
