I don't understand why he "had" to attack into that narrow choke instead of using his mutas to snipe reinforcements/tanks/rines and force stims. That army wasn't doing anything. It wasn't sieging one of his expos, wasn't applying any pressure, and you have the perfect area to snipe reinforcements while continuing to mass up more mutas, banelings or other units. At least force the terran to make a couple of thors - it eats up his gas and buys you more time to mass, or to send zerglings around his army to attack his base, which forces him to attack or unsiege and retreat. It seemed like Idra attacked because he was pissed off, tired and frustrated, especially given that he mis-microed the banelings directly into the siege tanks. EDIT: I would think that narrow chokes like that would favor OL drops, especially if you can divert a chunk of the marines by harassing reinforcements with mutas. Didn't Nestea or someone else completely crush a tank-heavy sieged-up army in exactly that position by sniping reinforcements to buy time for more banelings, then doing a heavy OL drop right on top of the tanks? Remember, narrow choke = less room for the marines to move up and take out the OLs before they're on top of you, and it makes it easier to harass the reinforcing troops to the rear with mutas, since you can retreat into the open space above and below the ramp.

Why else did you think he said "me win grack" at that moment. Also, he was on 2 bases that time.

a) time b) a lot of resources IdrA had neither. And yes, he had to engage at the choke otherwise the Terran player would establish a foothold been his main and his natural which anyone, including IdrA could tell you is an instant loss. I'm sure he knew he was going to lose the second he saw those tanks and marines moving up the center path. EDIT: Would someone mind telling me which game his infamous quote "Marines, the counter to banelings" came from?

Terran opens 1 medivac 4 ghost build into id say very little damage and then completly tech swaps into tank marine marauder and roflstomps to the win Race rant in spoiler view at own discretion + Show Spoiler + I seriously regret choosing zerg, Thankyou jaedong and july for inspiring me to sc2 failure always telling myself "ye blizzard will fix it dont worry" still waiting Its like he plays PERFECT vs mvp and in reality he only WON because MVP didnt push when he had the chance mvp doing some 2 base all in for almost the whole game, idra at a strong eco 4 base and played perfect and we still say idra only won because mvp didnt push his main instead of 3rd, FUCKING BULLSHIT but its ok ill join RET and IDRA and the other hopeful players

Hopefully it gets better w/ maps that allow zerg to engage properly. At least Gom is helping out with this as they clearly see balance as more of an issue then blizzard does. Also since zerg is a macro based/reactive race in this game the tempo is really dictated by your opponent as zerg is forced to chose what to spend larva on. Where as terran transitions smooth out of many aggro/harass based builds. In addition to this zerg really does not have any good early game aggression builds that don't sacrifice mid game econ so they become almost all-innish. Yeah Idra gets flak for "whining" about imbalance but honestly he plays the game for a living and hes a fairly smart dude. So dismissing what he says as QQ is simple ignorance, as the top korean zergs (fruitdealer, nestea, check, etc) all agree and have pretty much said the same things.
