I wouldn't bother if you hadn't said 'any live stream ever' but the Dota 2 International had more than one and a half million for the first game.
An oversight on my part. I was of course talking about sc2. When we bring the Chinese into the equation when talking about esports viewership, everything is blown out of the water.
As for Idra cheese, I tend to disagree with him being a 'macro cheeser'. He tends to tread a thin line between safety and greed but he doesn't regularly take a huge risk. I would define a macro cheese as this - 'if the entire map was revealed at the instant I made a decision to 'insert risky economical strategy', I would lose 100% of the time.' An example would be 15cc on xelnaga caverns. Zerg would win every game vs Terran if T went this build, even if Terran could see what Zerg was doing. An example that doesn't work is forge expand vs Z. As much as reddit scrubs like to say 'lol NaNiwa punished for greedy forge expand,' it is entirely safe.
I think Idra plays more like the second category, rather than the 15cc example. When I look at Idra's builds, I can see how he can hold off everything (cept ZvZ but we don't need to discuss that). Therefore he ain't a macro cheeser (most of the time).
Yeah macro cheese works like cheese. Doing something very risky and hope it doesnt get scouted. Like double expanding vs T and hope you dont get attacked.
I can't see how anyone would call IdrA's builds for macro cheese... thats incredibly silly in my opinion. He tries to play very safe on 2 base for quite a while vs T, and he expands at a standard timing vs P. I don't get it.
I feel like I would call what Idra does on occasion with being incredibly greedy "macro cheese". Isn't cheese a really nebulous term in itself anyways? But I love watching him do it, because when he pulls it off, he does it with style.

The term can be applicable but much like the traditional cheese term, it is often overused.
I would classify the 15 hatch with an extremely late pool without drone scouting on a relatively small map to be a macro cheese but not like the reactive fast 3rd hatch when he sees ffe by a toss or something
Yeah I dont think idra does "macro cheese". I think the reason he is caught off guard by early game aggressiveness is because his scouting could be better, not because he takes risks (although I guess not scouting is a risk?).

No because with proper control and decision making he can be safe from any attack.
Sure he loses to some sketch pushes etc. that doesnt mean it was because he was greedy 9 times out of 10 its because he either didnt wait long enough to *go for it* or he gets out micro'd.
Idra is one of the safest zergs as far as that goes. IMO Ret is way more greedy than Idra.
Couple games uploaded by the IGN channel on youtube. I can't remember seeing these games >.< One of the casters is speaking of Anaheim like it was last weekend, so these are horribly old. Still, I'll post them ^^
Does anyone have the VOD of Idra post-interview after beating Hwangsin in the NASL playoffs? It was so hilarious when he was asked by Gretorp "What do you think beating Hwangsin means?" and Idra answering "Beating Hwangsin doesn't mean anything because he is terrible."
