i can tell you clearly dont look at the spectator numbers bc BW IS dead... one country with a relatively small population doesnt compare to an entire world watching SC2. (seriously, its not even remotely close)
another thing... Boxer getting 70k viewers in GSL.... where to start... A: Boxer, not Flash B:wasnt even a BW game.... C: where do you get the idea exactly that they went back to watching BW? you're just making shit up at this point.
i dont understand why people think Koreans actually make up a majority of overall viewers in SC2(comparing to the rest of the world), because they dont... not even close.

As I said, comparing prizemoney between the games doesn't make any sense at all. You can't really compare medals either. Not all the best players in the world are in the GSL.
You're also being very, very bold with your statement that MVP has more fans than Flash. Considering BW still has a larger fanbase than SC2 has in korea (yes I'm pulling facts out of my ass exactly the same way you do).

I wouldn't call 50 million "relatively small population". BW still has higher viewers numbers than SC2 and it still attracts more sponsorship money than SC2.
But anyway, that's irrelevant... The whole argument is ridiculous. As per usual, people are talking about different things. The skill level of SC2 is still not high enough for such comparissons (and it will take a while for this to change, even if SC2 starts attracting bigger audiences overnight) - but in terms of dominance Mvp's year is similar to what Flash has achieved throughout his career.

Let's not compare MVP to Flash since SC2 is still so new. But to say MVP flopped at MLG is pretty ridiculous consider he went through the open bracket and placed 4th. In comparison, Idra was seeded #1 way up in the bracket and placed 8th.

Boxer got 700K, not 70k! That's 3 times higher than any live stream ever! Stuff like MLG, Dreamhack, IPL, NASL had less live viewers for their finals COMBINED. 700k people watched Boxer play sc2 live on the Korean gom stream. This is unparalleled in terms of numbers for any tournament and it was simply a Ro64 GSL game. Give me a plausible explanation of how this happened that isn't 'the Korean BW audience decided to watch sc2 for a change'. The pro league finals had millions watching. Until MLG has 2 million live viewers instead of 100k, then we can talk about sc2 being the bigger esport.

um yea... about that.....MLG providence had 3.5million unique viewers,so what about which being a bigger esport? the actual numbers of the finals werent released, but considering its the marquee match... with 241k average online over 3 days. not just one single match

Macro cheese takes more skill to perform and is more beneficial but is just as risky.
