Hopefully they won't go after other sites like soompi, asianjunkie, netizen buzz etc which I doubt because this is mainly a result of allkpop crossing the line with the nudes.
yeah it was fomos. they disallowed translating articles since the brood war days
this is hilarious because you know that other companies knew what allkpop is doing, they're only doing it now that akp has negative attention drawn to it and to make themselves look good to the akp hate bandwagon.
Not sure how translated articles would be covered under copyright law but I agree with others here, it would be shitty if they shut down other translation websites, because I think the international community is still at a point that an english language website couldn't afford to hire reporters and do all that shit. Although tbh I think it'll be the kind of thing where no company really becomes big enough to make it worth going after, especially since these sites' target audiences aren't suddenly going to switch and read Korean language news websites anyway.

Soompi does the exact same thing as AKP so if they were actually going after AKP for copyright infringement (which I doubt is their main motivation) they'd be in deep shit too. Asianjunkie doesn't really translate anything but editorializes instead so they should be ok. Netizenbuzz only summarizes articles and then publishes user comments so they should be alright too.
under my basic understanding of copyright laws I learned in college, regulation extends protection to the originator of the article. posting derived translations on the internet, especially as AKP has for ad revenue, is tantamount to publishing. fair use exceptions are completely out of the picture as I'm pretty sure 6theory is a for-profit organization. I think due to jurisdiction and vague terms of international copyright treaties, it would be hard to try this case in court. If anything, the suit would be registered in the place of origination [Korea], which has no jurisdiction in America anyhow - I'm not sure how the legalities would work, if at all.
I was also under the impression that TL writers are allowed to translate articles as long as they don't hotlink the images?
lol he's not a creeper. he just went in for a hug. He looks like he's having a great time while doing it too. No need for her to be so serious. As if a lil human contact was going to kill her. She's wearing a helmet anyways so nothing that bad could happen. What's the big deal?

Some random guy that she doesn't know is running towards her, and she has no possible idea of knowing what his intentions are, I don't see any reason for her not to be serious there?
Also it totally looks like he was going for a boob grab and not just a hug. And even then strange man running on stage coming at me is totally scary, even if he was just going for a hug.
