I'm actually scared for them. Especially since this rarely happens, hopefully they actually got some good soundstage guys. Setting up audio for live instruments is REALLY difficult (at least really difficult to pull off well).
Damn, i'm soooooooo psyched for 2yoon, love that backtrack in the teasers.
I'm scared that using instruments rarely happens. For foreigners looking at live entertainment in the Kpop industry, that is a tad embarrassing...
I view it as a necessary step to shift live performances in the right direction. Another step was that audio screw up in that music show I forgot the name of a while back, where the audience (while they probably knew already) experienced the horrendous live voices many idols wield
lets get it together Kpop!!
You do realize there is more to korean music than Kpop? And it's not like Lady Gaga and other western pop singers have live instrumentation either. Most pop is EDM anyways.
Kpop is just like western pop other than taking up a larger proportion or the music industry. There is korean metal, indie, hiphop, house, punk, ska etc. they are just far more underground than many western countries.
I actually fully understand this now and am trying to incorporate the phrase Kidol much more often, because Kpop does indeed consist of all those genres and more. I think Kidol(s) represent the majority of what foreigners are exposed to when they look at random songs they find in the top 100's of youtube, ie. the big industries - highly produced/edited songs/MV type genre.
I have come to understand that Kpop is an irritating phrase for Koreans to hear because all they hear foreigners cry about is the SUJU/SNSD's of the world when there is so much more to the term. I think there has to be a distinction between the two, because these mass produced songs that foreigners view as the norm for Korean music is definitely not adequate.
New B.A.P standard Kpop ballad 101. Great melody, interesting vid. solid.
they ve grown up, dont act like bratty kids anymore (for the most part) dont see anything wrong with that. on another note, make up is no joke in this one, looking pretty good but sooyoung is just way to skinny
“I Got A Boy”, for SNSD’s standards, has sort of bombed in Korea thus far. They’ve sold 319,824 copies digitally in the first week, which pales in comparison to the sales of their own sub-unit, Taetiseo, who clocked in at 604,870. Hell, for apples-to-apples sake compare it to their last Korean album, “The Boys“, which clocked in at 759,463. The fact of the matter is that “I Got A Boy” got more than doubled up by Lee Hi, almost tripled up by Big Bang, and was even outsold by miss A.
which I found interesting because I always thought that an SNSD release would just crush everything regardless of how it sounds, and it seems like that isn't the case. It's digital sales only, and I think they are crushing physical sales, but I found it interesting anyway. Assuming that most digital sales come from non-hardcore fans who just happen to like the song, I guess the Korean public...doesn't really like it?
The amount of Sones compared to the whole Soshi fanbase is relatively small, their hardcore fans will blindly buy their stuff regardless of quality which I don't mind because it still supports the artists.
I imagine most people have a similar mindset like me where I really like them as a group but if their release is garbage I won't bother buying it. Also IGAB is not catchy at all imo.

Your link is broken. Guessing the author didn't do proper fact checking. Here are some numbers. Over 30 million views on YouTube for IGAB in 2 weeks. Number one on all the charts, including 2 weeks on Billboard. They also have like 5 or 6 songs off the album in the top 50. I doubt the Korean public, or the world for that matter, is hating on it like this thread is.

My semicolon fucked shit up. Just delete it/it should work fine now.
The quote mentions digital sales specifically, so youtube views and the billboard chart (I believe?) don't really count. Plus youtube is still going to be a majority foreign views- Sone fanbase and I believe it was featured on the youtube frontpage for those not signed in to an account for awhile.
Also like people mentioned it's SNSD- if anything I'd expect them to sweep the chart, not just some songs in the top 50.
As for "hating", someone linked to an article with quotes from Korean message boards all talking about how bad the song is, but I don't like citing those cause I have no idea how representative they are.
Billboard charts digital sales. All ten of the songs from the album are in the top 80. IGAB topped Gaon digital charts, Melon charts, Hanteo charts, etc. IGAB is still fluctuating between #1-4 on Melon real time charts 2 weeks after release. Many people who follow Gaon charts are saying their system has changed so the numbers appear lower, but won't know for sure until later when other songs are also released.
When the album was released they DID sweep every real time chart for a day, so calm down that it's 2 weeks later and only a few are in the top ten.
Regardless, plenty of people like the song, as evidenced by its continued high placing on digital real time charts. Also props for linking asianjunkie which is possibly the worst pile of trash website for kpop 'news'. Why I felt compelled to respond to this crap I won't understand, because nobody is going to change this thread's mind on the fact that IGAB is actually not a complete failure like you all want it to be. Please continue living in your anti-snsd delusional world where everyone hates it except for diehard sones.
Does anyone know where I can watch the new episode of Radio Star with SNSD? Not the one with just 3 members ( i think TaeTiSeo) but the new episode with the full group?
What I found interesting about the charts was that GLAM managed to beat like all but 2(?) SNSD songs and was like ranked third. And youtube views is pretty... irrelevant? Somewhat sure people just spam F5 all day or run scripts. And besided its not like views show anything.. Even the people who hate it has to click it to actually see it in the first place
