People like to yell at each other.

So many memorable parts to the song too! Taeyeon, Yoona, Fany and SeoHyun's solo parts are absolutely amazing! >Ah nae wangjanim! Eonje i momeul guhareo wa jushil ten gayo? Ah Taeyeon...why so perfect. ![]() + Show Spoiler + The album ranking has totally changed from when I first listed it 2 weeks ago! Depending if I am feeling down or not, the first few songs change a bit! IGAB topped Gaon digital charts, Melon charts, Hanteo charts, etc. IGAB is still fluctuating between #1-4 on Melon real time charts 2 weeks after release. Many people who follow Gaon charts are saying their system has changed so the numbers appear lower, but won't know for sure until later when other songs are also released. When the album was released they DID sweep every real time chart for a day, so calm down that it's 2 weeks later and only a few are in the top ten. Regardless, plenty of people like the song, as evidenced by its continued high placing on digital real time charts. Also props for linking asianjunkie which is possibly the worst pile of trash website for kpop 'news'. Why I felt compelled to respond to this crap I won't understand, because nobody is going to change this thread's mind on the fact that IGAB is actually not a complete failure like you all want it to be. Please continue living in your anti-snsd delusional world where everyone hates it except for diehard sones. I think dystopia was trying to point out the fact that snsd isn't absolutely dominating after a long-awaited return contrasts from everyone's expectations. Continuing this train of thought, it clearly shows that their grip on the industry isn't as absolute as it once was. Either snsd was away for too long (probably not, tts was promoting in kr) or their lead single was just subpar; I lean towards the latter. Of course, every time a major girl group releases new material they're going to massacre rankings for a while, so bringing up realtime listens or whatever isn't really relevant. The author of that article makes a valid point in relating prior release statistics and comparing it with igab. Because downloads/sales are the actual statistic that matter in this market, he compares first-week sales. Obviously you're going to contrive different reasons for underperformance (it's 3 deep/complicated for everyone, etc) but no matter how you twist it, it stands that these numbers show a rather underwhelming comeback for snsd. Nevertheless, nobody is arguing that igab is an utter failure. Musically, it's debatable that it carries any merit. Commericially, it's obviously another success, albeit on a smaller scale compared to their past releases. As a sidenote, asianjunkie is pretty entertaining and objective if you ignore the vulgarity. It's not trying to become akp or whatever the fuck antifangirlkpopblog has devolved into, and I think that's part of its charm. On January 16 2013 06:19 ShmeeZZy wrote: Your link is broken. Guessing the author didn't do proper fact checking. Here are some numbers. Over 30 million views on YouTube for IGAB in 2 weeks. Number one on all the charts, including 2 weeks on Billboard. They also have like 5 or 6 songs off the album in the top 50. I doubt the Korean public, or the world for that matter, is hating on it like this thread is. Views on yt don't mean shit. Stop using that metric as justification. Rebecca Black has upwards of 40 million views but only sold something like 35k on itunes. Views aren't indicative of how much people enjoy a song. all it is is more exposure, which I guess is a positive thing but rather irrelevant. And, as other people have said, there are scripts that easily rack up youtube views. On January 16 2013 07:48 DwD wrote: What I found interesting about the charts was that GLAM managed to beat like all but 2(?) SNSD songs and was like ranked third. Even the people who hate it has to click it to actually see it in the first place Not sure why people are taking this as significant news. They released their single a week or so ahead of snsd's comeback. the only chart that showed them beating snsd was on melon; every other chart showed snsd ahead of the pack. Not much you can really take away from that.

To dismiss it completely is stupid. You are ignoring numbers that exist. People are talking about it. It is getting views. It means there is a BIG interest in it. I am not using it as my sole argument but part of a whole. It becomes very relevant when combined with the success on the other charts. The point that is trying to be made is that this promotion cycle has been a failure. It has not and there has been more proof of success and barely any hint of failure.
