It's called life getting in the way. Been pretty busy with tons of school related stuff, so kpop secondary to actually doing school stuff. Generally when I listen to an album, I like listening to it all the way through, in order. So it's actually a pretty big time commitment before I give the album a run through. Andy had it pretty much right. I wasn't trying to say it was a failure or any of that shit, that's obviously not true. What I found most interesting about that thing I quoted was that TTS and previous SNSD releases outsold IGAB when I didn't really expect it to. So in reference to what Ness is saying, it isn't fair to compare different girl groups. But comparing previous SNSD releases to SNSD releases is fair, and apparently IGAB doesn't stack up sales/popularity wise. Youtube views don't mean much IMO- there is that 2 billion deleted fake view thing Klogg mentioned, and even if youtube ignores scripts like Ness suggested (and I have seen people saying otherwise, but w/e) I'd bet a huge number of people clicked on it when it was on the front page, either out of boredom or to test sound (the IT place where I work does this to test sound/internet all the time). This doesn't mean it's popular, it just means that it was on the front page of the most popular streaming website in the world. And before people say it, no I'm not arguing that the song isn't popular at all, just that 30 million (or whatever) views isn't indicative of anything. Obviously it's popular; it's an SNSD release. I just found it interesting that it wasn't as popular (popular enough for random people to want to buy the song, not "popular" enough for people to click on a random video) as previous releases. | ||

More exposure for the group, high download/record sales, shows them expanding the scope of music genres (whatever the fuck that means in kpop), etc. Musically and historically, I'd still say it's a bit of a flop. But in the grand scheme of things, it's just a small blip in their careers. | ||
