I've always wondered how genuinely surprised/happy groups like WG/SNSD/2ne1 are after winning when you basically know you're gonna win every promotion cycle anyway. Like they have to know it's coming, and after the 100th time of winning it can't be that surprising or exciting anymore right?
I doubt it. Especially with the more humble Korean culture background. I think they were showing some real emotion there. I am pretty sure they hear the "washed up" and "they should have never gone to America" comments. As a human being, it has to get to you at some point and to come back and win probably means the world to them. You could make a similar argument for other groups as well.
But they win every promotion cycle. I'm saying at that point you can't even be that excited anymore, you expect it. It's more shocking to not win than it is to win.
The whole "they've seen the internet haters' thing would mean more if they didn't win last time they came back too or they weren't still chart-topping with every release. Every group has haters, doubt it means anything at that point.

This was my thought at first until Infinite and f(x) actually beat them. It showed that there will always be uncertainty when it comes to promotions for any group. Rookies are definitely standing out these days (BAP, Ailee) and the rookies from yesteryear (Infinite, A Pink) are finally getting some type of recognition. miss A even proved that rookie groups can win within their first promotion cycle. I honestly think it'll be interesting to see the results for 2NE1/Super Junior/T-ARA just because both fandoms are extremely confident that they will win no matter what.
I dunno, maybe the artists get extra money or get fed when they win something. Or even better, maybe they get an extra hour of sleep. I'd be pretty happy to go from 4 hours of sleep to 5.

Fair point about the internet haters thing but winning never gets old. You still want it and if you don't then maybe it's time you retired.

that's a weird attitude to take. Music show wins aren't everything, hell they're kind of unimportant since some of them are rigged. After winning so many I could see why one would no longer care.
As for SJ/2ne1/T-ara @ the dude above, I wouldn't bet against SJ no matter what. Their fans are insane.
You know with all this money for special effects and choreography and extras and costumes, you'd think they could afford to pay someone to show them how to hold a sword properly...
