To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules;
Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

Generalizing all of the threads readers by one comment. Nice job. You're way worse than sones when it comes to just overlook flamebaits.
Edit: Page top. I'm gonna continue with the pagetop history even though chenchen dislikes it.

I think you have to take those as tongue in cheek type comments. I read it as a joking post and didn't really see any malice behind it, more as a post showing how he appreciated the break in discussion for some pictures.
^Same. Also cause tons of people love trolling here (myself included, occasionally), so if you get pissed everytime someone disagrees with you you're gonna constantly be pissed.

Yeah this is why people get scared off. But I wanna encourage this guy to stay and keep his discussion posts (not the judgmental ones).
If I were more aggressive, I would send this gif to a guy I am asking out or something. ^_^

But all of you are right, this thread is clearly not for me. Yes there does seem to be a minority who are actually interested in discussing Korean music, but their voices aren't apparent. If I ever feel like bringing up something worth discussing, I can try, but I don't expect anything from any of you people. Just go back to ogling your pictures.
Most of us listens to the girl groups, is it really that weird that most of us wants to see pictures as well? A thread about Kpop without images would be an incredible boring thread. You portray us to be more shallow than any other place that discusses kpop and that's just ridiculous, sure you don't have the deepest discussions here but at least you have diversity which can't be said for most other places. Visuals will always remain a big part of the group no matter if it's a male or female group (shindong excluded).

Do you mean the Korean characters cause those worked fine for me. Just couldn't get the last.fm thing to work no matter how hard I tried. RIP foobar T_T

Well people started talking about bubble pop but it's hard to have a discussion when 50% of the posts on a page are you crying about someone insulting your post. Get over it.
I for one, LOVE bubble pop. It has become my most listened to kpop song of all time. Can't stop listening to it...
I also really like the new 4minute song. More so than anything on the new T-ara album. Hyuna #1.

I might be the only other person who watches these too. Their videos are halarious but you should read the accompanying post (on their website) with the vids. These usually have a deeper review. But maybe you already do that, haha.
And about Se7en, what happen to that guy. He released Better Together and Digital Bounce, then disappeared. After the lukewarm reception, dude must be like fuck it, and took a long ass break.

I've watched just about every Eat Your Kimchi video since "How to Dance Kpop 2008" except the wednesday special thingies. Very humourous.

Last page dude, guess this is what happens when there's stuff like this happening. First thing he has released in Japan for four years so it's been a while.
and I occasionally watch EatYourKimchi's Music Mondays and monthly recaps. It's a fairly well done show for being on Youtube and even though I don't always agree with them they sure makes their videos amusing. You start to notice that they are a bit biased towards some groups and even gender but that's to be expected. It's all about personal preferences.

Ah yes! Only recently did I discover just how awesome their actual website is. I love reading the bits they include with each video

i think he ended up replying to me LOl this may sound stupid but have you tried editing the names? that happened for me and i just manually edited the names
I've never had any problem with hangul except when the id3-tags already are corrupted. It has happened that Foobar has bugged out and gave me squares instead but it helped to just restart the computer.

Idk, I use Mp3tag to manually enter in ID3v2.3 tags. It seems like it works for some songs and doesn't for others in Foobar2000. It works across the board for iTunes (and by extension my iPod), but I'd rather use the resource-light Foobar2000. I've resorted to just listening to music with GOM Player and using iTunes to manage my iPod.
Edit:

What operating system are you using? I'm pretty sure the issue would resolve itself if I could install the Korean MUI, but I unfortunately have Win7 x64 Professional, which doesn't support MUI language packs.
Also a lot of the songs that don't work are ones that I downloaded from Soribada, so I don't think it's corrupt tags.

What's the point of having rules if they're never going to be enforced. How many posts are just pictures (not even picture depicting activities) with no words?
Do you understand that the aforementioned "rules" are nothing but indications to try to guide new users in order to avoid derailing discussion and causing drama in general, and that what makes rules both in here and irl is not some holy words sculpted in a holy wall but the consensus of the majority of the people who share the same place?
We know you think music should be above all things when it comes to any genre, including korean pop music, but alas, many people don't share your beliefs, and with good reasons to do so. I don't care if you disagree with our point of view, but don't come here trying to shit on everyone and fight for the greater good and erradicate these tactless people who only focus on the visual side of k-pop. If you really want people to listen to your message, start contributing, promote musical discussion, etc., and the people who thinks like you will share with you their opinions and views on the topic. I think this is fucking common sense, but I guess you can't expect such a thing in the Internet.
And don't even try to reply to this just to plug in more of your short-sighted fanaticism. If you're worth something, try at least to understand what I just said.
I did promote musical discussion. People discussed with me. People expressed that they shared my opinions. Then a few pages later, I was insulted and drowned out in an ocean of the usual "omg she's so hot" or whatever.
You implied that IU might as well be a stripper, and Raina too. You have shamed us all. Hyuna actually might as well be one though...
I implied that with the attitude most of this thread's regulars seem to have, the CONTENT THEY POST wouldn't actually differ if these people were porn stars or strippers.
You have implied that people would follow strippers (no offense to them as people) as much as they would follow IU. There is no hope for you, I have a spike and a barrel of tar for your head!
I would argue that IU isn't a Kpop idol, but that's beside the point. People still ogle her so:
I *asked* if people would follow IU if she were a stripper and if people would follow IU if she were ugly?
I *implied* that the image heavy content of this thread would remain relatively unchanged if all of these attractive young women chose to be strippers instead of Kpop idols, because discussion about them as performers is just so incredibly paltry.
Notice how, when a girl group(and sometimes boy groups too) release their single, album or music?when SNSD's album was released this thread jumped like 10 pages(frankly, I think it was more like 20-30) and then what, you are done? No, you talk about the other aspect of their comeback and kpop, how they look and how they perform, as that is an important part of kpop. Discussion about the quality of the music only goes so far, at which point people focus on the other side.
Jlim said it, if you want to discuss boy bands or anything, go ahead, people were obviously interested in it as they posted in response through it(and so did I). You could do that instead of flaming us, contribute and ye shall recieve.
Yeah you're right. There's really no point in my ranting about posting pictures of hot girls if I'm not going to participate in that aspect of the thread anyways.
I was really just caught off guard by that one guy saying how "unbearable" the direction I turned this thread to was. Indeed, there are people here who welcome discussion.
Basically every single one of my posts in this thread are either pointing out that it's a complete image dump or actually discussing music, but it's hard to have a real discussion with people that have clear biases and are literally with their eyes closed. This thread will continue to go how it's going now. Call it what you like, but this is no thread for discussion and that is proven each day,

I'm using Win7 x64 Professional as well. Have you tried just editing the id3-tags in Foobar by rightclicking on the song and click properties?
Because it feels like you only have problems with corrupted id3 tags because hangul clearly works for you in that screenshot. You can open up the folder with your and you'll see that the title/artist field will be messed up there as well. If it's not you should seriously consider posting on Foobar's forum.
Edit: For some kpop related stuff. Looks like it's confirmed that next weeks MC's on Inkigayo will be Nicole, Hara and IU. Seems like with Jiyoung on IY2 and Nicole/Hara having weekly MC duties that Kara is finally gonna have Korea as their base again.

The thing is, it was working in foobar just last week, so this is all rather mystifying.

I don't know why there is difficulty understanding that in Kpop, the music is inextricably linked with how the idols themselves look. Without cute or hot girls doing dances, or cute girls singing ballads, the appeal of Kpop would be much lower. As someone said previously, when a song is released, there is discussion (see: cry-cry MV release), but unlike other genres (i.e. classical) you have no sustained technical discussion. In my opinion, whilst some ballads and some few songs (covering my ass here) are of true musical quality, much of Kpop's popularity is sourced from a catchy chorus plus some cute babes in outfits dancing in sync. Hence posts here constitute of pictures of said qtpies or gifs of some dance moves. Ergo while there may not be strict discussion about the music, its constituent elements are discussed on a daily basis.
As for people who have biases, in any form of discussion you have opinions too. As far as I know, no one here has achieved the level of fandom as the people on the specific fanforums, so the "eyes closed" part is a little irrelevant.
edit: hey man this isn't all at you, it's also at that guy complaining about it all being pics, sorry, just found the closest related quote
edit2: and part of the appeal is kpop is that many of them are pretty and innocent while being pretty good at singing or dancing. Personally thats much more appealing than a pretty girl willing to take her clothes for money, even though she is prettier.
