Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

What's the point of having rules if they're never going to be enforced. How many posts are just pictures (not even picture depicting activities) with no words?
Do you understand that the aforementioned "rules" are nothing but indications to try to guide new users in order to avoid derailing discussion and causing drama in general, and that what makes rules both in here and irl is not some holy words sculpted in a holy wall but the consensus of the majority of the people who share the same place?
We know you think music should be above all things when it comes to any genre, including korean pop music, but alas, many people don't share your beliefs, and with good reasons to do so. I don't care if you disagree with our point of view, but don't come here trying to shit on everyone and fight for the greater good and erradicate these tactless people who only focus on the visual side of k-pop. If you really want people to listen to your message, start contributing, promote musical discussion, etc., and the people who thinks like you will share with you their opinions and views on the topic. I think this is fucking common sense, but I guess you can't expect such a thing in the Internet.
And don't even try to reply to this just to plug in more of your short-sighted fanaticism. If you're worth something, try at least to understand what I just said.
I did promote musical discussion. People discussed with me. People expressed that they shared my opinions. Then a few pages later, I was insulted and drowned out in an ocean of the usual "omg she's so hot" or whatever.
some people supported you and some didn't. Whenever someone does something that a couple people here do not like, they will receive a lot of backlash - but you also got support. As someone who has been here for a couple months (I'm still new lol), my advice would be to back off now and just come in a do what you did before. You're not going to change the thread, but you can bring in the useful discussion that you clearly prefer. Also your posts were kind of hostile. Try to keep the judgement of people who like kpop for pretty girls and stuff down, and keep the discussion of actual music up... I mean that's what you came here for, right?
trying to keep my post count low i wanna be forever vulture... wah T_T

I really love this video. I haven't watched it in awhile so thanks for linking it! I remember the first time I heard the song I was like "ehhhhh ._." but it's really grown onto me.

dominantly just a "hot Korean girls" thread. Why not have a separate "hot Korean girls" thread and leave this thread for the music? If all you're going to discuss is "whom I'd bang" anyways, making the "Kpop" absolutely irrelevant. I mean honestly, how many of you would do Jiyeon or Hyomin or whomever if they had no part in Kpop? What if their profession of choice turned out to be strippers? A good portion of the contents of this thread would probably remain intact. "Oh, here's a hot picture of my favorite Korean stripper waking up in the morning". "Here's a hot picture of my favorite Korean stripper doing her signature dance move". "Here's a ranking of my top ten hottest Korean strippers"
You have seriously pushed it way too far. Comparing our fondness to idols with strippers and pornstars is just wrong. What's different in western pop anyways, I still remember how my friends sister bought a music magazine every month just so she could get the poster that was included. Besides if you have ever seen strippers you should be aware that being especially attractive isn't even necessary.
The images I posts here usually gets around 1200-2000 views from this thread alone, so judging from that you're pretty alone with this opinion. While we necessarily don't post as much male kpop stuff doesn't mean we don't listen and appreciate it but you probably don't care because you insulted both us that visits the thread as well as female idols.

ChenChen, THIS. If you want your male kpop or 2ne1 discussions start them yourself and people will follow.
My point was, what is the point of posting random pictures of girls and never actually discussing the music if there are hotter and nakeder girls all over the internet? Why not just . . . talk about the music or the videos or something?
And yes, I DID try to incite discussion. Remember where all this started? Seriously people . . . I swear half of you just read that one post I made.
And yes people did show agreement with me and I do find it pathetic that 80% of "Korean *Music* Discussion" is dedicated to ogling pictures of female idols. It's bad enough that you do that with singers, but posts of actresses, or even *models* aren't rare. How exactly are these things remotely contributing to a Korean *music discussion*?

I would argue that IU isn't a Kpop idol, but that's beside the point. People still ogle her so:
I *asked* if people would follow IU if she were a stripper and if people would follow IU if she were ugly?
I *implied* that the image heavy content of this thread would remain relatively unchanged if all of these attractive young women chose to be strippers instead of Kpop idols, because discussion about them as performers is just so incredibly paltry.

If that were true Korean racing models and shit would be posted here alot more than they would, which isn't true. There are alot of pictures, yeah, but even in Korea a huge attraction to Kpop is visual. When shit comes out there's discussion (see T-ara, how bad everyone thought the Boys was) but the reality is that there's neither enough content to talk about nor enough regular posters to sustain the thread if all we talked about was the music.
Stop bitching about how people aren't talking about music. Talk about music and people will talk about the goddamn music, until then all you're doing is derailing this thread with stupid posts.

I'd venture to say, people come to this thread to discuss the people who partake in the Korean music industry more then the actual music. People are drawn to kpop not just because of the pretty people but also because the music is catchy. Its not that people care only about the visuals, its that if you follow any one group, they only release new music every few months, but if you look at the selcas and performances they do, that content comes out a LOT more frequently.
When new performances come out, its not like they're singing new songs (most of the time) so what can people discuss besides the visuals? People in this thread don't focus solely on the visuals, they just focus on the new content that's available. When SNSD, WG, and T-ara came back with their new songs, there were at least a few pages each discussing whether they liked the music or not, not just whether the girls looked hot in the videos or whatever.
You can't fault people for discussing how the girls look, because it is a huge part of kpop, but its also a rhetorical question to ask us if we would still watch if they didn't make music. Obviously people here enjoy the music, but being in kpop is so much more then just being a good singer, its also about their personality and their presence. They're idols, so people like talking about more then just how they sound.
Do any of you guys follow Eat Your Kimchi? I started following them when they first started but stopped recently because I've been so busy with college. Gotta say their videos are quite awesome, been catching up for the past few hours! ^.^

Most of us listens to the girl groups, is it really that weird that most of us wants to see pictures as well? A thread about Kpop without images would be an incredible boring thread. You portray us to be more shallow than any other place that discusses kpop and that's just ridiculous, sure you don't have the deepest discussions here but at least you have diversity which can't be said for most other places. Visuals will always remain a big part of the group no matter if it's a male or female group (shindong excluded).

Yeah you're right. There's really no point in my ranting about posting pictures of hot girls if I'm not going to participate in that aspect of the thread anyways.
I was really just caught off guard by that one guy saying how "unbearable" the direction I turned this thread to was. Indeed, there are people here who welcome discussion.
