-C-Real ‘Completely Real’ To sing perfect realness of songs is this group’s goal

C-Real’s title song ‘No No No No No’ is created by famous lyricist Brave Brothers and Choi Gab Won who assisted IU in the past.
C-Real, with the highly catchy chorus ‘No No No No No’, represents the emotion of girls in their teens and makes the listener’s ears happy

-From their debut stage, could not hide their emotions when they cried.

With an average practice period of 2 years, from the beginning of their teens they went back and forth from school to practice rooms and trained for 10 hours a day, they are still the sensitive teenage girls.

“We trained 10 hours a day, and on average we lived like this for 2 years. In our first debut stage rehearsal our parents were watching us. As soon as we saw them, we started crying. After one member started crying, it spread to all of our members. [ T.T ]

After their debut stage, they were too awestruck and couldn’t enjoy the moment. Shortly afterwards, they talked about their dreams.

“When we became trainees, my house was in Dae Jeon, I took the high-speed (bus transit on freeways) bus to our practice rooms. The roundtrip itself was 6 hours but with just the thought of becoming a singer motivated me to endure.” (Ann J)

“I was originally raised in the US. My original dream was to be a diplomat, so I only studied. Now I am going to a foreigner school in Seoul. After seeing Beyonce sunbaenim [addressing someone higher in a field] and her stage presence and her singing skills, I thought of becoming a singer.” (Leady)

“In 6th grade, my older brother showed me Kim Yeon Woo sunbaenim’s ‘사랑한다는 흔한 말’ (Loving you, such ordinary words). Back then I was really young, but I wanted to be like Kim Yeon Woo sunbaenim and wanted to deeply move people through music.” (Effie)

C-Real also they wanted to be remembered as 성장돌(Seong-Jang-Dol = Growing Idols), 육성돌 (Yuk-Sung-Dol = Natural Voice Idols).

Q. Do you have boyfriends? Or anything that relationships like the lyrics of your songs?

“A boyfriend… probably our dog Bboddo at our dorms.” (Chemi)

“Bboddo is a girl though (laugh).” (Rest of the members)

Q. How do you immerse yourself emotionally in the song then?

“Our vocal teacher and acting teacher, knowing we didn’t have those kinds of experiences, recommended us some movies and dramas. The teachers also told some of their personal ones as well.” (All members)

Q. What did they recommend?

“The drama ‘Dream High’, ‘Boys Over Flowers’ [TN - …these recommendations… T.T]. The part that helped us the most was situational acting where we each took roles and feeling the character’s emotions. While not having real experience, this helps us to emotionally express ourselves and it helps us when we sing.” (All members)

Q. Who is your ideal guy?

“Chun-oh’s Jang Hyuk sunbaenim. He’s cool and acts very well.” (Chemi)
“In the US, Justin Bieber [the disease has spread] he is the same age as me. (laugh) (Leady)
“For me, Hwang Jung Min sunbaehim. He seems so nice and innocent.” (Effie)
“I like a guy who has sharp eyes, and who is cute when he laughs. I think Lee Jong Hyuk sunbaenim is very cool.” (Ann J)

“Hmm I think Cha Seung Won sunbaenim is cool recently.” (Lenny)

“We don’t like other idols. Not the emotion of liking them, but we admire them and don’t think of them as guys. They are so cool and looks pretty and we can’t even think about them” (Leady, Ann J, Chemi) – [>.>, ok bases covered. <.<]

“Five IUs” thanks for this nickname, it’s an honor but we’re sorry”

Q. You guys have gotten the nickname ‘5 IUs’, have you girls met IU yet?

“It’s an honor and we’re thankful but we’re sorry to IU sunbaenim. Our company’s representative Choi Gab Won sunbaenim, through his producing I think that’s how it stuck. In truth, we did meet IU sunbaenim, and she told us many good things. She didn’t mind this nickname as well.” (All Members)

Q. Any other singers you wanted to meet after your debut?

“I really wanted to meet Brown Eyed Girls.”(Ann J, Lenny)

Q. Any singers who gave you advice?

“Kan Mi Yeon sunbaenim gave us really detailed advice.” (Leady)

“Wheesung sunbaenim, even though he was sick, he watched our performance. Despite being so sick, after he saw us he said one phrase. ‘Cute’ (laughter)” (Chemi)

“Our appearance? There’s makeup surgery. We will win with our singing skills”

Q. You guys are girl groups, but don’t care about your appearance? What do you think about plastic surgery?

“Someone said to us and said ‘You guys really came out unprepared!’ (laughter) (Chemi).

“I’ve already given up. I will cover that part up with my abilities.” (Leady)

“Recently makeup is so innovative and you can practically do surgery-like makeup. Reduce our chins, and even make our noses stand high.” (Chemi, Ann J)

Q. Do you guys take care of your figure?

“Since we are all young, there are no special things we do. We are at growing ages so we eat a lot. We always eat our fill, and eat things good for our body.” (Lenny)

“We even eat Samgehtang(삼계탕), eels, and lots of meat as well. These kinds of healthy foods, we eat normally around our track recording or learning hard choreography.” (Ann J)

“Even if we do not diet, through our singing and dancing practice I think we can sort of feel the effects of a diet.” (Effie)

“Even if we purposely diet, it would be just avoiding oily foods and reducing our dinners a little.” (Chemi)

“Even if we sit or stand we are 160cm. Do you think we’ll grow more? (laughter)” (All Members)

C-Real is so thankful to the fans, that they try their best to memorize all of their names.

Q. After your debut, how are your school friends’ reactions?

“Everyone is so supportive. We get so many congratulatory messages; it is hard to keep track of them. Our friends sing us our songs, and send us pictures of our albums they bought on their phones” (Ann J, Effie)

“Our school puts our song on daily. So there are rumors our company has contracted the school to play our song, such ridiculous rumors.” (Effie) [XD]

Q. Do you have lots of fans?

“They write us letters, and cheer for us a lot”. (Leady)

“They write us lots of letters and cheer/sing along with a loud voice, I am so thankful. I planned to meet with them soon. I can’t reveal the name, but let’s meet!” (Lenny)

“Since our name is C-Real… fans send us lots of cereal and milk. They write us letters on milk cartons as well.” – (Ann J).

“There are fans the same age as I am, and with same birthdays. After our college entrance exam we promised to meet, saying that it was destiny…” (Chemi)

Q. Interviews as entertainers are your personal history you can record. What would it be If you were to say a word to your future selves 10 years later?

“After 10 years you’re 26 now. You have grown up to become a woman now. I know how much you work. I am proud of you. I hope you worker harder and hope you become a better person. Don’t forget your pure aspirations, and hope you become a great person.” (Leady)

“Ann J~, hi. You’re a 27 year old Ann J now. You’re still with C-Real right? I hope you have grown up a lot. Be obedient to your parents. You’re singing and dancing better right? Until your black hair becomes green onion roots, I hope you live happily with the others. I love you~ <3” (Ann J)

“Hi Chemi, your front digit is now different, you’re now 30 years old. You did really good choosing this job. Don’t forget your goals and keep your health. You’re a greater person now right? Stay healthy, and do your best. Until you become a grandmother as an entertainer, let’s finish our lives on the stage.” (Chemi)

“I want to show our growth. Please write '성장돌'(Growing Idol), '육성돌’ (Natural Voice Idol) within the article. We have not shown even half of what we can do. There are lots more we can do, please keep watching us. (Chemi)
